Great video of the LSRC MP15AC at the beginning! I've got one on PREORDER of #1502 that will be available in October to add to my h.o.scale layout fleet! Those SD70's look awesome in the LSRC paint scheme especially at night when it shimmers when the lights reflect off of it! Thanks again for sharing your videos with us along with your time and effort! Glad to see LSRC w the BIG HORSEPOWER now to really move some freight and make the BIG REVENUE!
Thank you, Shawn! I also have the Athearn Genesis LSRC MP15AC’s on preorder, both. The MP’s are beautiful units! Did you notice 1502 has a black plow on the front? I did not know it had a plow. I’ve got tons of video of 1501 in Port Huron, and it has no plow.
@@toddfeldpausch9489 yes I noticed the plow on it. I was happy to see they had the LSRC MP15AC available bcuz it's one of my favorite short line railroads and enjoy your videos! The MP15AC will be available in October and can't wait to get it! Its also awesome to see they've taken delivery of 2 SD70M's!
You’re quite welcome. It was incredible luck to wind up in Saginaw on this evening. My intent was to film 304 from Pinconning to Grayling but the train didn’t run.
The scheme is definitely reminiscent of the CNW Dash 9 scheme - which was another beautiful paint scheme, in my opinion. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment!!
The new SD 70's look great. A bit surprised they added a third engine on this run. Google says SD 70's are rated at 4,000+ hp, depending on the particular model. Keep up making these great videos !!!
Thanks for the comment, Myles! If I had to guess, the GP40 was left on this train because it was being shuttled to Flint for other reasons. LSRC is constantly rotating locomotives throughout the system. Plus, two Geeps could have easily handled this modest train.
Thank you! I was fortunate to have been at the right place at the right time to video their maiden voyage. It was a privilege, for sure! I was pretty amped for 1502 as well.😊
With all the mergers happening these days its rare to see _new_ schemes popping up, these are some beautiful locomotives and I love seeing something new being done with some pretty classic units. A welcome break from the same 6 schemes on every railroad.
Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment!! Very well said! I could not agree more. Modern locomotives became so boring to me by the late teens that I decided to focus almost exclusively on shortline & regional railroads. Because of all of Michigan’s non-class 1’s consisting of standard cab locomotives, I was reluctant when I read the news that LSRC was buying 6 UP SD70M’s. I always felt that the Lake State scheme was classy and rivaled most class 1’s, but I was quite pleasantly surprised to see how absolutely beautiful that pain looked on an older wide cab EMD. It is a scheme that gets me as excited to see as the Santa Fe warbonnet.
Yeah I didn’t even know Lake State had those until yesterday! I also found some of other beautiful locomotives specifically those SD50s! (Those were 6355 and 6356 which are also sister units!)
Thanks! Your best bet is to hang out in the church parking lot at the south end of the yard at Lapeer Ave in the early evening. A yard crew can often be seen building 119, the southbound train to Flint that is supposed to run every evening. There’s also a 126 train that comes into the northwest end of the yard in the early afternoon.
Great question! If I’m not mistaken, all six of LSRC’s SD70M’s are ex-Union Pacific. LSRC 6433-6436 have yet to arrive from Metro East Industries, who is painting the units.
@@toddfeldpausch9489 indeed they are. I got to see some "paperwork" regarding these ex-UP motors. Sucks to see the once ever so common SD70M now start to get sidelined and retired after just 22 short years of service on the UP.
@@toddfeldpausch9489 Right there with you Todd! Already have the #1502 on preorder. Was talking with one of the mechanics for Lake State a few weeks ago, he said that Athearn had already been out there to take pictures and measurements of the sd70ms! Looking promising that we'll get them in the future!
now that's a beautiful paint scheme
Those SD70M look Amazing Awesome really like the paint scheme on the Engine's...

I ❤ the Lake States Railways Paint Scheme Which is a Beautiful Paint Scheme
Hello Todd thanks for bringing us the First Run of the SD 70s 🚂🚂👍🏻👍🏻NICE

Wow those locos look awesome, LSRC is turning into a mini class 1
That scheme looks better on a widecab than I thought it would. Thanks for watching!
Reminds me of CNW's Dash 9 scheme with the lightning stripe. Nice footage!

Great catch Todd. They do look awesome. Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks man! Here’s to many more good catches in the future.🍻
They really look great in LSR scheme. thank you.

With these units, Lake States now has the distinction of having 567, 645, and 710 prime movers active simultaneously.
Great catch! Hopefully I can see them north of Flint soon!!

Very nice video. They sure got these in service quick I hope I can see them myself soon
Thanks I appreciate it. They sure did get them in service fast.
Those SD70M’s look sharp in LSRC paint.
Great video Todd!
Saw a group of people filming a train in Mount Morris several months back. Turns out it was one of the "new" SD870Ms on one of it's first runs.
Love the look of the SD70M with its F45 style cab.
For sure! The LSRC scheme looks sexy on that cab and nose.
I wonder how many layers of gloss coat are on those engines.
Beautiful engines...
They really are.
I can’t help but notice something, the green stripe, it’s direly similar to the NYC paint scheme on its diesel fleet
Nice catch
wonder what hey all had done to em? my guess is just a repaint and go.
I caught 6431 and 6432 today at Flint!
That’s great!! They’re beautiful, aren’t they?

Great content I subscribed

@@toddfeldpausch9489 I’m thinking about coming out there to see the Lake state railway next summer is there any hotels near the tracks ?
How Big is the LSRC Rail System???

Nice video Todd. Any tips for catching the Lake State in Saginaw? I’m making a trip up there in the near future and want to get the most out of it.
Thanks!

whats the lineage of those 70s... they are so new they aren't even on rrpicturearchives yet as of this writing

Hit this video out of Comerica Park, Todd. I want an LSRC SD70MAC for myself...in N scale.

I hear ya, now I want a couple in HO scale. LOL
