- On one of the coldest days of the year I caught a true classic consist on the old Ann Arbor Railroad. GLC 391 and GLC 385 paired up to work the Osmer Turn down to Ann Arbor. We caught them doing their switching and then departing northbound as twilight turned into darkness.

Nice video! I used to live in Fife Lake and I miss being able to see the GLC on a regular basis.
When the steam era was drawing to a close, it’s like having a pair of locomotives from the 1890s.
Looks like they are both riding on Alco trucks!
Yes they are
AA RR saved some money with the initial order by having them ride on trade-in alco trucks.
That means those trucks are even older than the locomotives. Think they were on FA-1s……

@@AnnArbor393 these are EMD built locomotives. All research indicates they were built by EMD or GMD, which does not change it was built by EMD. EMD was the General Motors Electromotive Division, which of course was owned by GM at the time of building. From what I found, it’s likely most of the trade in trucks were held at Lagrange, so while I can’t find specifically which location the Ann Arbor fleet was built at online, it is likely they came out of Lagrange
