Thank you for this video (and your effort): I'm just going into a project where I'll need to solder Led Strips and this video has been very, very useful. Thanks again!
Great tips. Perfect primer for my patio railing job. I am replacing an old strip that I strung together with the plastic clamps. They are such a pain to get right and inevitable lose connection and fail. This is a much more elegant approach.
Hi and thx again! Im currently working with other LEDstrips with more pins so I might make an extra video with LEDstrips with more pins but the principles stay the same as knowing what is ground, positive, data,... If its just stitching them together, one of my most recent videos might be a good help for your project!
I've been hunting for videos about diy led connectors and it's like very difficult, yours is pretty much the only one I've found so far, haven't watched all the way yet hoping it's what I'm looking for and similar to what I'm doing. I've got wizz led light strips and need to put breaks in between about 3 of them going around a room and under shelfs tables, wtv, I just don't have the money right now to buy the connectors on Amazon that are more expensive than the more typical 4 pin led lights, I've got 6 pins here, hoping my idea of what I'm going to do works and you can maybe help me as I go
Hi and thanks for watching! I hope you find the info on my channel, I now have several videos showing how to solder LEDstrips together, since yours is 6 pin the procedure is the same, just a bit more work and making sure you know which ones are data, positive, ground! LMK if you need some help!
Hi and thank you also for the tip! I dont have this actually because all my projects are for indoors BUT I will give this a try and include that in a future video! Thx!
Regarding the wled strips with the data channel - if you solder two lengths together, will they behave as one length? I'm wondering if the Knight Rider effect will work as expected
The ones that dont have a controller and only work 1 color such as white only need a positive and negative. Color changing ones like I use work with a signalwire that gets its signal from the LED controller.
Yooo 😁 tho ja alles ok, druk en me duizend dingn bezig. En normaal gezien wel maar met da k voor Bosch werk zal t lastig zijn, waarschijnlijk in d feestdagn 😉 en me ui alles ok?

Thank you!
I love ur content dude .. very useful ❤.
Thank you very much!
Nice tutorial! you can also use liquid electrical tape to cover your solder joints before hetshrinking ;)
Thanks!!! And great tip, seems I will have to make another updated version of that video!😁
Thank you for your help :-)
With pleasure and thank you for watching!
Great video thanks
Thank you for watching!
Great video.... What temp are you soldering the strips?
Hi and thanks! Its around 250 but when I do small points its a bit higher just to be able to work it faster!
Hey I work on cars too, that's fun, both tinkering gear heads, and have identical helping hands,lol...just wish you were doing 6 pin leds

Good job!
Thank you!
I think the splashproof solution with the glue is very good. What about using conformal coating instead?

cool to see the NWS pliers labeled as Milwaukee
As with so many tools 😂 thx for the watch!
Thank you
With pleasure, and thanks for watching!
What size solder do you use. Looks like a 0.8 mm or 0.6mm? Is a 30W soldering iron good enough for LED work? Thank you.
Hi, the soldering i use is 1mm and my soldering iron on max is 30W, thanks for watching!
@@StudjoInfinity thank you. I see you use separate flux. Does your solder have Rosen in the middle too?
@@Tchairdjian No i prefer to use seperate flux where once every few points i dip the tip in it to solder
@@StudjoInfinity thank you. And good luck with your art career.
Thx! for the Video...not many people use tha 144led\m Strips...these ones a little pain.
Peace!
So connectors are not good? They limit power ?
why some LED strip work directly on 220v? how do we know them?
The ones that dont have a controller and only work 1 color such as white only need a positive and negative. Color changing ones like I use work with a signalwire that gets its signal from the LED controller.
Can I apply this to rgbic lights?
Yes absolutely!
You should do a video on that soldering rgbic lights alot of people don't know that
Josn! Cava maatje? Kom je nog eens naar belgie dit jaar?
Yooo 😁 tho ja alles ok, druk en me duizend dingn bezig.
Can someone show me the wiring pattern for soldering a T connection on a 3pin cob led strip? 😑
I heard the soldering police in the background
It's pronounced "L....E....D" Not "LEAD".
Absolutely! Thank you for pointing this out!
