Incredible work by all SAR personnel. Love seeing drone usage on emergency callouts become more common place, and Weber County seems to be setting the gold standard along with the M30T.
@@northfallswhat software is it you use to plot where the path out is? Is this something that could be used for example to pinpoint the location of a suspect/missing person for ground teams?
@@tylerswardson9072 We use SARTopo also known as CALTopo for all our ground teams. Hoping this software will someday be implemented with Dronesense or Motorola Cape
how do you adjust the flight path for the terrain is it GPS or down facing sensors or an rtk model of the hole Mountain i mean if you fly the same Height you will crash in to the Mountain
Only the DJI and Autel drones are worth it. Imagine your PD/FD buying a skydio platform only to be owned by low quality parts, annual subscription fees, and a poor moral compass from leadership
The drone used on this rescue, the DJI M30 was the perfect one to deploy. We later tossed up the M300 to provide ambient light from the GL60 Spotlight by CZI
@@northfalls Great to hear. America deserves the best tools for the job, not lobbyist software engineers who want to make pilots obsolete. It’s a shame DJI isn’t accessible to all agencies
@@technicalactivity I wholeheartedly agree! DJI makes the best products right now, and no one else comes close. It's a shame there are some that are trying to put inferior tools in the hands of first responders without evidence. Politicians....
@@northfalls if you look at Skydio’s team (and most US drone manufacturers sadly) Its just tacky salespeople who care more about the "feel good" branding. Moreover, many of them want to defund the police (based in San Francisco) lol.

Luckily, the people there have the best professionals and the best technology at their disposal.

We adjust the flight as we manually control the drone. In hasty searches like this, we are always manually flying the drone.
