@@bikelockwiki Yes I carry it with me on the rear rack. It's nearly 8 lbs, & I'm 224 lbs., but I was still able to get 38.5 mph on my Kepler a couple of days ago. I've got it weaved through the rear rack with the lock part near the seat so all I have to do is unlock it, unthread the top half, wrap it around something & lock it up. So half of it stays in place all the time, making it a breeze to use.

A very interesting and professional review! Which chain with a lock is the best under $200? How about a manger? Is a disc lock with an alarm also worth it?
I just bought this lock and am wondering about the quality of the lock housing, especially the very top end. The steel is thinner than the chains, and obviously another material. If you still have the remains of this lock, could you try and grind off the very top end of the lock housing?
Honestly "nicer" lock cores and key types aren't realistically going to make things less likely to get stolen, they're just going to last waaaaay longer. Nobody picks chain or cable locks...
Depends on the each rider’s situation: the bike they’re locking, the value of the bike to them, where they’re locking the bike, what they’re locking to and many more factors :)
I just started my new uber eats job. 1 and a half weeks later poof... Some fucker stole my ebike (g force t42) my fault is I left key in underside of bike and had cheap lock. Now I've ordered a eahora Juliet and got this lock on the way. Let's see the little bastard steal from me now. Also putting gps in the bike with stickers indicating it. Taking battery with me every time I do a pickup on orders. Also got a can of mace.
@@bikelockwiki … good move,.. they are common now, small and easily transportable. I just lost a ebike a few weeks ago that was chained up with Kriptonite chain. The thief used one. They don’t make noise like a grinder does either. Very stealthy.
Can confirm this chain does not crop with Hydraulic bolt cutters. Ruined the first set of blades I tried with this morning. I'm also using the same tool that the LockPickingLawyer uses.
@@bikelockwiki,… thank you! My lock that that a thief popped with a hydraulic bolt cutter was a Kryptonite Keeper 790 which has 1/4 inch links. I was asleep in my RV when they stole it. The chain in your video here is “9.6mm” which is about 3/8 inch. (I’m obviously a Yank). I’m retired and travel often via RV (caravan). If a lock requires an angle grinder I can stop the theft because the noise acts as an alarm. Hydraulic cutters are silent except for a pop. I am certain there are many others out there like me who would also appreciate you addressing what locks and what size chain links will and will not be broken with portable hydraulic bolt cutters.
@@bikelockwiki,… my replacement eBike is being delivered in the next few weeks. I need to use chain in my situation because the bike can’t be positioned for a U Lock to function. I may step up to a half inch chain as an abundance of caution unless you come out with a new vid putting me at ease with 3/8”. You have yourself a new SUBSCRIBER?
Got their 140 cm/ 3.6 kg gold viking version off Amazon for only $91 on sale a couple of weeks ago & am very happy with it.
Awesome, good choice. Are you locking multiple bikes or just one?
@@bikelockwiki Just one. Bought the 35" version first but found it too limiting for places to lock it to. Not so with this 55" version, I love it!
@@SmokeyTreats Great! How have you found it for portable use? Have you been carrying it with you when cycling?

Thanks for assisting me in which lock to get! Also, it'd be much easier to just grind the thin little "post" you chained your bike too 😅

thanks man. Great review! just ordered this bike lock along with the other brand. So total of 2
Good idea, if you have the budget to cover it it’s always worth using two locks. I forgot to mention!

Thanks! Some disc locks are great, I like the Oxford Big Boss Alarm, which works well with most motorbikes. What do you mean by manger?

Sure, I'll give it a go when i next have an opportunity to :)
@@bikelockwiki merci

Helpful indeed!

Agreed, it's hugely unlikely that a thief will use picking as their method of attack on the street.
Don't count on a loose chain because all you need to do is to clamp a pair of mole grips to a link and the chain is locked still enough for the cut
Surely any lock like this is a bust. Nowadays you've just got to shell out for the anti grinder dlock

Sorry to hear that mate. Bike theft is absolutely gutting, but glad to hear you're not letting it put you off.
Best of luck with the new setup!
This lock can be easily and silently defeated with a hydraulic bolt cutter which is commonly used by thieves now.
I've got a set of hydraulic bolt cutters on the way for future tests. So we'll see how it does. Thanks for watching.
