Here’s some places to go from someone from Memphis.
Visit the Sax museum if you want to learn more about the music history in Memphis.
Try to visit a Memphis Grizzlies game if you can they get really fun
Go visit the duck march at peabody Hotel
Go to Tom Lee Park to get a closer view of the river
Go to mud Island as well for this history of the Mississippi River
Visit the arcade for breakfast and see where Elvis used to sit for breakfast
If you have kids go visit the children museum
Go visit Crosstown for more Memphis shops
For more BBQ visit interstate BBQ on third street
Great video! You definitely hit some of the best spots! If you ever come back, you've GOT to go to Crosstown Concourse! Maybe 10 minutes from downtown, it's an old Sears facility turned "vertical village!" A beautiful 1.5 MILLION square foot Art Deco building that houses pretty much everything. Bars, restaurants, a gym, a theater, a school, apartments, a health clinic, an amazing art gallery (catches breath) the list just goes on! Always on my list for people visiting Memphis. For any architecture buffs or those who value sustainability, it's won national awards as the world's largest adaptive reuse project to earn a LEED Platinum rating!
AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! Chase! Such a great rec!! That was one spot that we were thinking of visiting but just not enough time. I'm 100% coming back and HAVE to check it out because I've heard such great things!!! I can't wait to check it out because I love architecture and sustainability!!
Thank you for your recommendation of the Edge Motor Museum. I have a girlfriend that LOVED this and it was $10. Bob that worked there and the other man were the most fun to chat with. Do not be shy and see them questions. We got to see some of the cars int he back that were no longer on display. Like the antique Muntz car Argus 1958 C-Four at Edge that was owned by Doris Day! I would not have found it if it was not for your recommendation.
For a fun disco night out try Raifords.
The dueling piano bar sing along at Silky's was the best! They were a blast and Matt the bartender was so sweet and great service too.
The ultimate Memphis BBQ list from a native Memphian and barbeque connoisseur (Seriously no one will ever tell you some of these) in no particular order:
1. Central BBQ (it really is that good)
2. Tops BBQ for non-traditional memphis bbq
3. Germantown Commissary
4. Three Little Pigs bbq
5. One and Only bbq (get the potato salad, best potato salad in the city, and thank me later)
6. Rendezvous (not the best but the gives you the true memphis tourist experience)
7. Payne's BBQ
8. Bozo's Hot Pit BBQ (the best on this entire list IMO. It is far from the city center in Mason, TN but has a rich history. Started in 1923, this was THE spot along Hwy 70, before Interstate 40 was built, where music legends like Elvis, Johnny Cash, June Carter, Jerry Lee Lewis, etc. stopped to eat BBQ on their way to Nashville. It was also one of the spots where the movie "Walk the Line" was filmed. If you like good bbq and ribs come here. Ribs are only available friday and saturday nights. Also get some fried green tomatoes, they make the best in the world!)
The Pink Palace, Dixon Art Museum/ Botanical Garden, The Zoo- just some more cool places I go to every once in a while

I just visited Elvis Weeks. And if you are going to tour the whole city too. As a tourist, not an expert. Elvis week is best time to go . Because it’s a annual event in Memphis and chances for your safety are better. It is a dangerous city, but cops are out in full force that week, I saw them everywhere. Not that something can’t hay, but chances for your safety are better then any other time of the year. Because you have people from around the world goingZ. City is concious of safety issues, Elvis Week is an economical boom. You still have to be aware and cautious. But felt safe when there. I travelled alone. But always stayed around lots of people. Don’t look vulnerable and don’t look confused or dress like an obvious tourist. Be aware at all times. In most cases you will be fine. This is what I did, of course it’s no guarantee , but still better then being unprepared. I had a great time

Great video... you make everything look fun!! I was in Memphis in 2001 when my plane got grounded there the morning of 9/11!! I was flying from new york back home to Los Angeles and ended up stranded when the FAA grounded all flights for the next week. I'll definitely have to go back and actually explore the city!!

@@AlleAbroad there are a cluster of thrift stores on Summer Ave. AmVets on Elvis Presley Blvd. I've picked Armani jeans from City Thrift at Summer and I 240. There is a dope Goodwill and Salvation Army in Horn Lake,MS. Too many to list!
