@@vicomtexdaae3630 I saw that production with the us tour and I found that it was actually very good. Although I prefer the original by a landslide, it was sort of refreshing.
Watching this video a second time, they keep talking about ‘bringing it forward’ etc. It really does sound like you’ve redesigned the sets. Does your marketing department know what happened when Coca Cola ‘improved’ their drink in the 80s? It bombed. I don’t care that you may have changed the production sets but I do care you are calling it “Original” if it in fact, is not. That’s deception.
It’s already been on tour with what wasn’t the original staging and done quite well so I don’t think this version has much to worry about. Coca Cola redesigned the coke can many times without a problem it was only changing the actual drink that caused all the fuss
P. Fitz I’m not concerned that the current international tour maybe using the new sets and is doing well. If they have gotten shot of the descending angel and the chandelier is only half a chandelier, and possibly other set changes, then I mind that it’s NOT the original and I would rather have bought six shows for London than in Manchester and Birmingham. And go look up “new Coke”. They changed the drink, NOT the can, back in the 80s and sales PLUMMETED. The point I was making that if they go messing with Bjornson’s design, then they are not selling me the original and I want a refund.
@@andkyrmar I get where you are coming from with it saying "The brilliant original" yet they're changes to it. I think saying you want a refund because of these changes, and it is not 100% the original is unnecessary because they only showed a model. A model. I think to develop a opinion is when actual footage or images appear of what this tour looks like. I'm not bashing your thoughts on the model I'm just saying it's unnecessary to say you may want a refund because it's not the original look or design even though all they showed was a small model.
@@adam4757 I have watched it in London and also in Brasil... the same production... everything... wonderful... and the chandelier did come from the stage in Brazil... so... I hope that in Ireland it will be the same... I really love this play...
Can't wait to see you's in July. Phantom is the most influential piece of my childhood and is what inspired me to do musical theatre. I can't wait to experience Phantom for the first time live and learn from the experience
If this version going to her majesty’s I will be gutted that the angel isn’t there. That was Maria favourite part of the set and a iconic piece (it doesn’t need to move just needs to be there in the middle).
Would love to one day see this again after the Chemotherapy is over December 2020 . Id wave a magic wand if in existence over all of us to be well . 🌹.

I was lucky enough to see this production in Leicester and even luckier to have Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber watching in the seat behind me!! I hope you will all be back on the stage again soon. Stay safe ❤️
Did the chandelier drop? Were the sets similar to the original ones? I’d love to know what this production was like since there are no photos or anything.
I am very confused. They promote it as "The Brilliant Original on Tour", but the set model looks like the god awful revamped tour version...which one is it? If it's not the same production that is in London then I imagine myself and a lot of other Phans will be incrediblely annoyed.
@Marlene A I just want to say they should leave the original production "as is". The Overture was one of my favorite scenes, specially when the chandelier rises to the top. If they really want to make a hybrid, they should do the same thing Phantom VEGAS did with the Overture. Now that was astonishing... But that simple new production chandelier display in the top of the theatre isn't as powerful.
Saw this on Saturday at the Curve Leicester and loved it. Nothing will top Ramin and Sierra for me, but this cast was brilliant and the staging fantastic. Bravo
I Hope that model set in this video is NOT what we will be getting in this 2020 tour. If it is, then you’re not selling “The Brilliant Original.” I’ve bought a truck load of tickets and some serious questions will be asked if you use what looks like the 2012 tour. Your response to this comment would be greatly appreciated.

Update: I am now crying
Sadly it won't be on because of that coronavirus
