I was already in Schutzhund when Dr. Raiser made his rotten fish speech at the SV. I can tell you that when he had the strength of character to speak up, his speech reverberated throughout the Schutzhund community worldwide. He had the courage to speak for the entire working dog community. I have never had the opportunity to meet him, but in my eyes, he has the courage of a pride of lions. Everyone knew what he said and that he truly cared about maintaining the character of the working dog.
I'm glad he mentioned how dog training was in the past and how it is now. It lacked compassion and welfare but these days most trainers are pushing for better knowledge. How it was in the past is not a reason for these "purely positive" trainers to use as an advertisement for balanced training to be seen as an evil process in modern times. Dog training should be seen as dog training and the well-being of the animal should always be the number 1 priority!
All respect to the legend. He and Fritz Biehler were the first names I learned when I started working dog draining decades ago and I learning new things every time I listen to him speak.
Thank you Ivan, I've listened and watched this episode three times, and I'm still learning or catching new things. Really thank you and Dr. Raiser for sharing this.
Fantastic talk - the time flew by. Thank you both. I think Dr Raiser will (or should) have many young people offering to work in his practice for 12 hours every day, never mind 8 - cleaning, reception, maintenance, then walk his dogs and clean his kennels - just for his wisdom and training in dog sport. I would if I was young!
great episode!!! I started to press thumbs up for the comments I agreed on, then I realized it would be too many to press thumbs up on 😂 so much historic, so much clarification around the politics, so much really good and interesting information in this episode! 5 paws out of 5, absolutely 😁💥👌
There’s something here he mentioned that I’d like to see discussed more. He talked about setting the behavior before the dog has matured into the aggression and that took away the conflict or something along those lines.
Great discussion!! A lot of great information and very thought provoking as we head towards the New Year. Thank you Ivan and Helmut!! All the best to both of you!!
1:51:50 he speaks up about an absolutely important point that we must all understand and learn to overcome about the masses. That they may be dumb. And dumb as they are, they will fight to stay dumb. We must use this to our advantage as they do for their own.
@@IvanBalabanov just listened to it again. Very motivating! Maverick and I have been working hard the last month, I need to bring him to Florida so you can make sure we’re going in the right direction 👍👊
German Shepards are known to have a higher percentage of degenerative myelopathy, breeding dogs should be tested not only for hip and elbow soundness but also to test via OFA and eliminate (through spay and neuter) known carriers of the genetic markers of degenerative myelopathy.
Grey = active aggression in barking, green = prey, blue = obedience. Simple idea to conceptualise drive changes. See the old Aristo dvd for practical demonstration of these ideas.

I listened a second time. The topics and how things were told. I understand there is a known history regarding Helmut Raiser that I do not know. And all the colors grey, blue, green what do these mean in Schutzhund? Where can I read about it?
He speaks "German English" sometimes, and yes, perhaps harder to understand if you don't know the history. I wondered that some people may not be able to follow. I also wasn't familiar with the colors, since I have been out of the sport for many years.

I don't think Herr Helmut Raiser is all that. When he worked in the kennels he used to beat them, even so hard that a dog lost his teeth. 'Fear creates respect'. No, fear creates fear and your dog will work for you out of fear. That's not a healthy relationship. I have a doberman and let me tell you, he is not 'ruined' and the breed is also not 'totally death'. But you need to have a doberman to know that.

What do yuh mean?
I like Dr Raiser colour system, very unique
Thank you Ivan for having the great Dr. Raiser on your podcast - two legends, talking dogs, having a cigar, love it. Absolute gold.
He is amazing. Love his accent. He has more knowledge in his little finger than many 'dog trainers' have all together.
Thanks Ivan for all this free podcasts and information!
You’re welcome 🥂

By far one of Ivan’s best podcasts! I was turned off by the dog daddy podcast but this is pure gold!!
Thanks Ivan for bringing on a true Legend...wealth of knowledge and experience!

Dr. Raiser is one of the great trainers and a man with a capital letter
Thanks for worldwide and historical perspective on „animal rights” problem. Much better chance for a good fight knowing tactics of the enemy.
Thank you very much for this video 🐕🙏🏻👍🏻
Dr Raiser and Ivan 2 legends

Yes! This is the best! I just started, but wanted to say: Der schutzhund was the second book I ever bought 21 years ago.... God I'm old lol.

Thank you Chris!
woow!! tocayo! eres mi inspiración BALABANOV, un abrazo. Espero conocerlos pronto ❤
I'm just transformed! Ivan, can you talk more about the colors you two talked about? Now I am curious.
Grey=aggression, blue=obedience, green= prey
Great interview with a excellent Helmut, greetings from the Czech Republic, I would like to meet Helmut at a seminar in English language...
I've noticed the majority of my favourite trainers have European accents, the accent and delivery of the information hit different

Mr Ivan kindly she'd some light on Dr Helmut's using colors grey, green when talking about the GSD and Mal. Thank you
Now I'm new to the game and new 2 terminology. Butt whatt does GREY m3an for this dud3? Like wolf energy or what???
Grey= aggression, blue= obedience and green= prey drive.
Could anyone point me in the direction of somewhere I can find out what's meant by this colour system?

How does this only have 25k veiws what the fuck is the dog world?
What's the meaning of green blue and grey?

Hey, at 2:04:00 what does he mean with blue, green & gray?
Helmut's system is based on colors that represent the drive the dog is currently in
Grey: Aggression
Blue: Obedience
Green: Prey
@@edidasa blue= avoidance or did i missunderstand?
You misunderstood, blue is compliance. Or it might be called obedience....
@@DESCENDINGDR this about protection work not obedience. listen carefully again or read his book there is a chapter 1.b) defensive drive - avoidance

Can someone translate, what is this gangar/genger/gengar effect?

Helmut sounds like a Fox News contributor. It is interesting how Germany has similar challenges to the USA.
