    “They pain us for our training, but they show off with our results”. Awesome. Reminds me of what I saw Haz Othman say, who is one of the few people who actually puts his protection training on RUclips: “People don’t like to see how the sausage is made, they just want to eat it. Well, I am a sausage maker…”
    Great interview. Excited for more.

    @33:00 As an owner of Dobermans, I agree. It’s become very difficult to find Dobermans that meet my particular working criteria. They have almost been completely lost due to poor breeding practices. Many other breeds have as well. I’m working on my own breeding program to try and help create better Dobermans with better health. It’s definitely a challenging task but that’s how much I love the breed.

    I've listened to this probably about 10 12 times in the past few days
    Helmut has a opinion on the push bite vs the pull bite while I understand this man is far more knowledgeable then me on the dogs
    It leaves me with a question that mite help me understand on a deeper level
    My question is
    Dogs are predators
    The dog with a pull bite would be useful to bring down a prey animal while a dog with a push bite would be useful to hold and kill a prey animal
    I don't understand how a pull bite is seen as avoidance and not wanting to engage
    Much appreciated for ur time
    Thanks from the UK

    • @BulletproofPitbulls
      @BulletproofPitbulls  Месяц назад +1

      @CharlieTheCaneCorso so pulling away represents fear of losing the prey item to adversary because they threaten them. Also leaving a uncomfortable situation gives you peace not stress. Think about a fighter in a war, instead of moving forward in battle he going in kills one guy and retreats out of fear of being killed. This is obviously a simple answer I can do a hour video on just this topic alone. Also remember staying in a losing fight might give you honor but your also dead so not necessarily the smartest idea. What basically we all want is a dog who has the will to fight and confident in his abilities to not quit or leave..we can train these things but this topic once again is a very nuanced thing. I train all sport work, law enforcement, tactical k9s to real world no equipment protection and I see all the negatives and positives to all

      Thank you for the explanation Im aware of a lot of what u said but something still don't site rite about biting styles
      a push bite has its place and a pull bite has its place in nature the pull bite brings down a moose the push bite goes for the neck and makes the kill in nature
      How a dog bites is such a vast and interesting subject
      The police want a dog to hold and push and minimise damage to the criminal
      In personal protection if ur dog bites and holds and is sted fast it's gonna get shot stabbed or sliced up in real world scenarios
      Infact I don't even understand why people want protection dogs there gonna get there dog killed it's not a protection dog it's a sacrifice dog in reality

    • @BulletproofPitbulls
      @BulletproofPitbulls  Месяц назад +1

      @@CharlieTheCaneCorso so technically in nature it’s never pull it’s always push deep full mouth until prey is dead or pull to the ground but the grip doesn’t change and if it does it gets deeper. A defensive bite is frontal k9s and as a warning infliction of pain with the fangs not the molars. Yes protection dogs are there to save time but obviously there are nuances and details to training all these styles. Let me also say this….most of the people talking on the internet about these issues don’t have the knowledge or experience in these situations so that’s why there is soo much issues with information

      So a push bite is characterised by biting with the back teeth

    11.37 timeline. I would say I agree. The most aggressively dangerous dogs I have worked with were almost silent. They wouldn’t waste energy vocalising. Or maybe they just don’t want to scare a potential victim away?

  • @CCOREY5

    As a Schutzhund person…thank God he is calling out the emperor’s new clothes! The heeling has become ridiculous. The prancing is not good for the elbow joints, heads straight up or staring in armpit or face is not good for the dog spine, the whole over the top energy is cartoon-like and not good for the dogs nerves. Too much ecollar is used to reach this state of frenzied activity. The over the top speed for all phases is ruining dogs that can actually think…turning them into machines. And one can no longer see real temperament or character of the dogs in the trials anymore. Lastly the gsd trainers are trying to the train their GSDs to look like hectic Mals instead of the thinking and more regal GSDs. Why don’t more people see this!?

    Love the history and what he says about heeling. Totally unnatural and damaging to the dog’s cartilage and muscle. The open mouth is not a grin, it’s stress. In an era of all positives, how can this type of stressing the mentally and physically be allowed?

    People don't respect the distances of the dog,
    That's such a common sense thing people these days have forgotten , I've got no idea what the fascination is with people wanting to put there hand in there dogs food while they eat.......me personally i like a dog who has possession over his food.... Means he'll work harder for his food from my very small experience with dogs
    I don't just take anything from my dog he's told to drop it and then I remove it, it shouldn't be a battle it's a command, un negotiable, Drop or Leave it
