You can ask Grand Design for a commission. After we saw your visit to the Momentum 21G a few months ago, we decided that it was the RV for us. For the first time, six months ago we bought a wonderful small Forest River toy hauler because we could tow with our SUV, but we enjoyed it so much that we bought a truck to tow it. At about the same time we saw your video and our heads started spinning. We wanted it. We started our campaign and after considering several others, we finally got the 21G this week. Our first trip was to bring it home and we loved it. We are very, very close to 80 so it is really something new for us. It is the first time for me to handle a trailer but our learning curve has been very fast. I have to thank you and all the bloggers of RUclips for the fast learning. I’m an avid biker (2016 BMW R1200R) but I’m looking for something smaller to use it much more (the BMW G310GS is not available now). As you probably know, getting the bike in an out gets more difficult, not easier, with age. I heard this week an older youtuber say, don’t quit because you get old, just get smaller. Keep your reports coming. You benefit more people than you can imagine. We will thank also several other youtubers that do a wonderful job keeping us newbies informed. The only regret is that we did not get into it 10 years ago when we sold our last cruising sailboat because of the physical demands. Good luck.
Thank you so much for this! It really makes us happy when we feel we've helped people! 💙 The go smaller versus quit is GREAT advice! 👍🏼 Take care and safe travels!!! 😊
I love this thing! It’s just us two and BMW R9T Scrambler. I’ve been looking for a nice small garage toy hauler bumper pull for full timing and this is beautiful. One slide, patio deck, small enough to go most anywhere. It’s gonna be a great seller for Grand Design. I really like the 25G as well!
Changing Lanes Wow,. That was very Awesome, I really like the lay out in that Tow behind Toy Hauler. ! I was looking at other one like that first. Then I saw your 5th wheel. But I might have to take a closer look at this New Baby. Lol. Thank you both so much for sharing with us. Keep all the New up dates with the Momentum line coming if you don't mind. ! 👍🇺🇸 Lol. Thanks again. !
We're anxious to see the bigger models too. Should definitely have them out by the Tampa RV Super Show. If we run across one, we'll be sure to do a tour video.
This is very cool, my wife and I have a 2016 Forest River Work and Play 21 UL that is 26 ft total length very similar design minus the slide. I installed a dual-fuel 3500 watt generator in the front fiberglass cap and it came with two 30 lb propane tanks. It has seven and a half foot ceilings as well. Thank you for this video.
Definitely considering the Momentum 30G for our second RV in a few years. More living space in the same length as our Keystone 29V. We don't do toys. Just bicycles and a 28 inch blackstone in the garage. Charcoal grills in the pickup bed.
Thank you ! I went on U tube to see if any complaints were out there or problems. After I spent big money for this couch. Only to discover you Cool Video & positive comments ! Made us feel we made a good choice 😁Thanks again
It's official... on the path to Grand Design RV ownership... I liked your labeling of this as Lil'MO... ha... and as a "gateway drug to the 44 footers". Was looking at 320G but even that was tall and long and felt too much to bite off with no camper experience. But love the height and size of the 21G. Getting mine soon... tentatively scheduled for May 18. Woot woot!
I like it too, !👍👍👍 With a few mod.. bit longer, the best part of this video_ when he chuckells about been apparently his idea of floor spece .... they are thinking inovation .
Great, just when I've convinced myself to go to a 5th wheel toy hauler, which requires a new truck.... I wana see the 25G and 28G also. They need to get these publicized asap. Thanks for posting.
I want a toy hauler where the bed above the table is the only bed, no bed in the front, I want a large kitchen up there, that way you can have a super small trailer!
Oh yea.. this wouldn't work for us. But it's a great option for someone with a smaller truck who doesn't need as much space... Thanks for watching! Hope you check out the rest of our channel! 😊
This is RIGHT in the space where we were when we bought our Vortex 2715V by Genesis Supreme. This would be a close rival to what we got but I think the genesis is a better "deal" but this trailer is more luxury, slightly. Awesome video guys! Keep it up 😍😍😍
If you are going to buy one of these trailers and carry a bike or atv in the back make sure that you get a weight distribution hitch installed on your tow vehicle before you try towing this trailer. Otherwise you will be having the ride of your life your trailer will be swaying all over the road.Good luck and happy camping
A tank of water takes 100 pounds off tung weight on a 25g.An 1800 lb SxS took off 330lbs.A 25g empty tung 1463,with SxS 1130,with water 1030 .So on max weight of 11.5k you need to adjust for 10-15% tung weight.Sway bays are just for when a semi passed not to equalize out an unbalanced load. They move weight from rear axel to front of tow vehicle which has nothing to do with unbalanced load.
@Rob Reber Did you put toys in as far to front as they would go? Did it help? Man I don’t know if this is for me with 2 bikes and lots of extra weight.
Another great review! Always look forward to new info from you. Now you're making it tougher for me to make a decision on fifth wheel versus travel trailer. Lots to ponder. Thanks for the info. Happy travels!
I’m confused about the gray/ black tanks. I’m planning on converting to a composting toilet and combining the black and gray tanks for more gray capacity when I go full time. I’m looking for quality in a rig and up till now was limiting myself to the Lance 2612 or desert fox as24. Planning on this being my last home until the nursing home or final home. Garage will be for my HD Ultra Limited and tow vehicle is a 2017 Ram 2500 Cummins.
As I understand it, the front connection is for black and grey 1 (shower / sink), and the rear connection is for grey 2 (kitchen sink). Our 397TH is similar in that the front connection is Black 1, Grey 1, Grey 2, and the rear connection is for Black 2. I'm sure you can do what you're talking about but it would have to be a custom deal. I've thought about closing the valve (amzn.to/2Dn4Rsc) at the dump and opening both grey tanks to let them equalize but haven't tried it. You might be able to do the same with Black 1 and Grey 1 on this. Maybe an experimentation video is in order... 😎 The 2500 cummins would tow this thing like it's not there. You might want to check out their longer G class models too: (changinglanesrv.com/gdrvgclass) Thanks for watching, Jim!
Changing Lanes; the 25G looks pretty sweet while not too much length. Not real keen on the outside kitchen, just a waste for me and something else to fail. Funny thing is a few weeks ago I saw The 21G advertised by dealerships and it wasn’t on GD web site. I was looking earlier this week and it was there but not the bigger brothers. Now all three are there. I’m looking for more for quality than fluff and GD may meet that.
We first saw one when driving to the GDRV Factory... In their staging lot... Wait.. that Momentum is a Travel Trailer! LOL Will have to find a dealer with one of the larger ones while we head south for the winter so we can see it.
Really like, but 2 questions - 1) What's the height of the garage door and roof height under the Happi Jac? The garage seems large enough for a Ranger SxS, but I don't know if the garage door will clear the roof. (Why aren't these specs on the GD Website?) 2) Does the Queen bed have to fold when the slide is in?
Since we're no longer near this unit, we just don't know... I'd recommend asking on the Grand Design Owners or Grand Design Momentum Owners pages on Facebook. I'm sure someone there will have the answer. 👍🏼
Can you elaborate on the black and grey tanks? And how that works. So the black holding tank is for all of the bathroom and then the kitchen has the large grey tank?
Not 100% sure on this particular model. Every RV has different things feeding each tank. But toilet water will always go to a black tank and shower / sink water generally goes to a grey tank with very few exceptions. We go over the water in detail for our RV here if interested: ruclips.net/video/bR7e7XViI3o/видео.html
Nice 27 footer. It has many features. One thing I have noticed in the RV industry is the trailer's/5th wheels come with a 4 burner range with the oven. I've noticed the Class A units come with built in 2 burner cooktop recessed into the counter and no oven but they do include a microwave with the "convection" feature. There's little information as to the reason why a trailer has 4 burners for cooking and a conventional oven while Class A is stuck with only 2 and the multi-function microwave. Just my opinion but, the microwave should be an option while a convection oven is standard. Not so sure about the convection idea. Love this model as it has a real bathroom. Curious what Axles and tires they used on this model...
We have 3 burners, an oven, and a convection microwave in our Momentum and use all 3 regularly. We did notice a lot of Class A don't have ovens... not sure why. If I remember, I'll ask around at the RV show in a few weeks.
@@ChangingLanes Thank you. Some folks are partial to an oven vs. those fan driven and noisy convection set ups. They also require electric power to run the fan(s). Maybe the builders know something some of us do not.
I’m searching videos trying to find a look at it with the slide closed. Can you use the bed with slides in? The space looks like maybe the bed folds up when the slides come in.
Best thing to do is just look at the floorplans online. Most rigs you can tell basically what it will be like with the slides in. www.granddesignrv.com/showroom/2019/toy-hauler/momentum-g-class-travel-trailer/floorplans/21g Looks like in the 21G, you can use the bed fine with the slides in...
I had a question. I recently watched your video on the office conversion on your travel trailer. We just bought a coachmen trailblazer 29THS. We are looking to do a similar office conversion, I work from home and was wondering what you would suggest for internet. I will need to be 100% online for approx 10 hours 4 days a week. Can you help

Maybe? Not real sure about that... But I can say 100% they are building them. They are a huge part of the work force in the RV industry in Indiana. In fact at GDRV they work from super early in the AM till about noon, so they can go home and work the farm.
51K is definitely high. MSRP Fully loaded (generator, rear deck / awning) is $53,600, which means a more reasonable *real* price is 38-40K. Certainly wouldn't pay more than 40K and, at that price, I think it's a good trailer.
