I was thinking that these tiny houses are like, super tiny, but this is like comfortable tiny. And it's not a bad thing. It's actually pretty sweet. I'd probably be like this if I'm retired or travelling.
As of recently, I have come to terms with the fact that I may be going down a road of hoarding. I have a major shopping addiction and will buy things just because I can, just to throw them on the ground and never to touch them again. This week, I am actually going through my things and getting rid of anything that I do NOT need. It's going to be hard, but I gotta do it. I will also be sizing down eventually to living in a camper with my cats to keep things "tiny living."
That's amazing that you're taking it upon yourself to downsize knowing you may have a hoarding problem. Although most of my hoarder mindset is changed..I'm still working on getting rid of it completely. I still have the urge to spend and shop but now I justify it by buying things I need.

The catwalk should have been lowered just enough for her to stand on it I mean I don't see what difference it would have made if they did lower it and I imagine if they had lowered the bedroom she'd be able to stand in that too I can't understand why they don't do that but everything else looks great I love the the raw wood there that looks great
Thank you. I didnt lower it so the rooms below could have standing room. If I would have made the bedroom loft to where I could stand up in it, that would have lowered the ceiling on the bottom floor. They make reverse lofts in this manner.

I watched a show on hoarding. The helper/therapist had the homeowner use a marker to divide a blank sheet of paper into four quadrants. They then wrote one word in each of the four quadrant. 1, Keep. 2, Donate. 3, Trash. 4, Not Sure. It helped the hoarder overcome their uncertainty by allowing them to decide what category in which to place each of their items.
@@NotAnAngryLesbian Yes! Great idea! I personally had my own method and even after living in this tiny house for 1.5 years I still purge, declutter and downsize because I still have that hoarder mindset. I have to constantly train myself to let things go. But I'm getting better! :)

Same! Ever since watching almost all of these vids I've been planning ahead to build one here in the UK, then sell my house and live off grid and save what I don't spend on a mortgage.
Seeing the percentage of space vs percentage of stuff, she still has a lot of stuff in comparison. However, having less space definitely keeps things in check. Looks awesome
Thank you! Most of that "Stuff" you see is my office stuff. I sell it but because I Love crystals and sold most of my own I displayed them on the outside to look at. I don't feel cluttered in the house, just that office is cluttered ;)

I wish there was regulations allowing tiny homes lots/tiny homes community in the cities. So many ppl would be or on their way to be debt free. Many ppl are house poor and the way things are going many more will be rent poor too! These rents are getting insane!
I agree with you there! One of the reasons tiny houses fall into a gray area is because people think there isnt much money to be made in terms of taxes, rent, utilities, etc. But we still shop at their towns stores and stimulate the economy that way!

Some are expensive and some arent. Depends on what upgrades you get and what company you have build it. Labor isnt free. If you built it yourself, of course you can build this house for cheaper, but I cannot build it myself so I hired a professional company to do it. If you compare them to houses on foundation they are only a fraction of the cost. Instead of me paying $320,000 for a 2200 sqft house on foundation, I paid a sliver of that and I have zero mortgage. Only lot rent. So while everyone in houses is paying on theirs for 30 years...mine is paid off.
@FoolyLiving to build, it doesn’t cost a lot, but you in her case, she paid for electricity and Energy consuming products added in (washer and drying, stove, fridge, lighting, ac ect.) So she didn’t have to put it in herself
@Jayne Eyre Ultimately up to the lifestyle. She can lock up and drive anywhere in the country. And since part of her business is going to craft shows, she can travel to any of them to secure financial opportunities. And even if the cost doesn't seem worthwhile, she's leaving a much smaller footprint on the environment. Since this curbed a hoarding issue (consider how much money was going to waste for goods she never used), she has way more advantages living in a tiny home.
I love the energy that’s I’m feeling off of her. I know it sounds weird, but she’s so cool and just amazing. I love her cats, especially the litter box, every house should get one like that lol
I love tiny houses on wheels. What's upsetting to me as a urban planner is that most cities don't allow them to be parked within their boundaries in the Western world. I also think the rent you have to pay ($600) is too expensive. The RV industry also is refusing to label most of these buildings as RVs so they can't park at mobile home parks. If I went tiny, I'd definitely buy my own parcel of land, add solar and a rainwater system so no one could try to control me.
Yea, finding parking can be tough! Thank goodness there are so many resources to find legal places. Plus, tiny houses are gaining recognition as full time living so hopefully parking places see that as no big deal that RV isnt attached to the name. I'm not RVIA certified and I'm in a campground. But I agree the rules and regulations are a bit crazy.

Ok this, this is my favorite tiny house that I've ever seen. There is just enough room for everything and there is so much smart storage and everything for the cats like the vent for the litter box area is genius! I love the look and the feel of it, so amazing
Thanks a bunch for the compliments! It took a lot of planning for all that storage. I am an impulsive person so I didnt want to just go with first ideas. I used notebooks and planned the entire things out and it worked!! :)
Yes!! And her office space would be perfect for a ground level bedroom. I could actually see my teenage daughter and me living in this space with our cats and not feeling claustrophobic! There's just enough space for everything without having a ton of extra stuff, and without having to take 20 minutes to dig out every little thing to use for the day! (Which is often why I've found tiny homes so impractical- it's hard to constantly move everything just to live.) This is hands down the best design I've seen!
I loved this tour... this looks like a tiny house that I could live in... a tiny house that had tons of storage and felt lived in because she had the extra stuff... my biggest worry is not having anywhere to put my clothes LOL
My clothes hang on the ceiling in my loft. I also have a dresser drawers with 6 drawers and a night stand as well as plastic bins that hold seasonal clothes. Check out my newest storage video on my channel. :)

Thank you very much! Unfortunately the water system is being removed and refunded by the builder. It was an unperfected water system that caused a lot of problems and was admittedly put on the market too soon. The builder has since discontinued selling them.

@@TinyDreamer Probably because they have to make a profit to be able to stay in business. I've watched MANY tiny house videos. 100K is common, especially when folks buy one built. Anyone who says you paid too much for a custom designed, brand-new fully functional house on wheels is full of it. RVs cost more than 100K new, and you've got something so much better.

I think I have seen one of this companies done for a single mom who did a similar thing for her son. I think the loft on the other side was a little bigger. But like I said I like this one.
Fabulous! Absolutely perfect! You don't see so many that are meant to be permanently off grid like this. And that is a crying shame! Why doesn't every new home have a water catchment system? I mean...WHY? Water is an absolute necessity for life and we are forced to PAY FOR IT Every day of our lives! But it is FREE! If you think about it IT IS THE BIGGEST MONEY-MAKING RACKET EVER! Just sayin'...lol. When Jimmy Carter became president in....??...1978?...he was all about solar energy! He had solar panels installed on the white house to heat all the water heaters! Ronald Reagan had them removed! Wonder what the electric companies part in THAT decision was?🤔 Starting now, if every parent of a teenager began helping said teenager to begin building their "adult" home, be it a tiny house on wheels, or a 150 square foot tiny house on land...whatever! Spend the four years of your highschool time building an off grid home, imagine how much better their lives would be? Never an electric or water bill. Never worry about rent? The lack of stress alone is worth it! The ability to not starve or be homeless while searching for your own dream? What a better world , what better people we would be in just one generation from just that one four year project....done while you're in high school! What a gift to give your child...the knowledge alone of creating your own house...plus the freedom it will give them forever if they choose. Anyway...I babble. LOVE THIS THOW's! I remember being in my apartment and whenever anyone was over and getting something out of my cabinets they would slam them shut and all you could hear was a loud pop each time of the wood banging into the cabinet. These are so much quieter and easier. Not many guests go in them though...lol. I still love them!
Thank you! I sold "it all" by changing my mindset...then it was easy! Until I changed my mindset I was like every other hoarder, I couldnt possibly dream of giving up my belongings. I sold over 4000 items to do this! :)

Her cats ARE cute, but her house is "cuter"! Thank you for sharing her story. It is so easy to collect 'stuff' [shout out to a George Carlin Comedy Spiel] nd often hard to let it go! I moved out of my 2 bedroom apt for financial reasons, and then spent $116/month to store the furniture and stuff I couldn't sell. Here I am 9 months later preparing to move to CT, and room at my daughters. My goal? She's letting me live rent free so O can save $$$/mo for a mini school bus, and convert it into my own home. Hats off to Jen! and the whole timy living community!
Her cat totally stole the show, he's awesome :) and I love this house! I can't believe that she was worried he would fall.. so what if he did fall? Cats can jump/fall from a lot higher than that and be fine. My one friend had a third story balcony and every time her male went into heat he would find a way out there and fling himself down to the ground three stories below without a scratch. The cat in this video has a lot of sass you can see it in his face when she takes his picture on the railing lol.

Love this home I saw it in person as well as many others I loved Incredible Tiny Homes you should do a tour with Randy he builds amazing tiny homes. I was so impressed when I go tiny he will build mine for sure.
I went to a tiny house show they had on property and the homes were amazing they had over 20 to view including this one and thy all were different . They will build my tiny in the near future I was impressed with the company both in the heart and humbleness of the owner and the epic quality of the homes.
This has got to be by far my favorite tiny house I have seen. It has so much space, and I live the idea of the kitty litter area. I would love to have this tiny house because of all of the special rooms, and space. I think it would be a struggle for me to get into a composting toilet but after time it wouldn’t be to bad. Great job! 😂👍

It's beautiful, but again, I just can't see paying that much money for a tiny home. One of the main reasons people want tiny homes is for affordability. I don't want to pay more than $20,000 for a living space...preferable even less. At this rate, I'll have to shoot for a TeePee instead....until greedy TeePee sellers see that there's a market for TeePees and start raising the prices on those. Uggh. I hate greed.

The $58k she paid is actually very reasonable. You have to take into consideration that tiny homes are built just like a regular stick-built house. Much better than a poor quality trailer home. Bigger wall studs, floor joists, thicker insulation, higher quality windows, doors, cabinetry, flooring, etc. That quality costs more. Don't forget that labor to build the tiny house is not free. You're paying a home builder to build your custom home. They deserve to make a living at it. Spec out a regular size custom built house the same and you'll be shocked at the cost. $200-$400/sqft is not uncommon. I'm seeing tiny house builders charging in excess of $90k now for 30'+ models.
The rain catch system is super cool. Very self sufficient tiny! I love the movement but probably see myself with a larger sq ft tiny house or combination of two of them. I would want a separate or add-on large living room entertaining area. Hosting large get togethers is somewhat sacrificed with tiny houses. While downsizing is nice, communities also need places to gather in many homes.
Such great points!! I have a video that I did on 10 Things I would do differently and having a better living area is one of them. My guests often feel cramped on my couch with a 2 inch cushion. They sit on the carpeted stairs or on the floor. Not much room. I'm looking to purchase a real couch for that area and put that couch bed storage thing in the garage or on my deck when I have one built. Thanks so much for watching! :)

Some like tiny houses on foundation...I preferred mine on wheels so I could move it wherever I decided to go. A house on foundation cant be moved. Maybe I'll take the tires off when I get into a more permanent spot, like my own land. :D

I watched a show on hoarding. The helper/therapist had the homeowner use a marker to divide a blank sheet of paper into four quadrants. They then wrote one word in each of the four quadrant. 1, Keep. 2, Donate. 3, Trash. 4, Not Sure. It helped the hoarder overcome their uncertainty by allowing them to decide what category in which to place each of their items.

I agree with you there! One of the reasons tiny houses fall into a gray area is because people think there isnt much money to be made in terms of taxes, rent, utilities, etc. But we still shop at their towns stores and stimulate the economy that way!

Why are they so expensive? It truly does not cost that much money to build these.
Some are expensive and some arent. Depends on what upgrades you get and what company you have build it. Labor isnt free. If you built it yourself, of course you can build this house for cheaper, but I cannot build it myself so I hired a professional company to do it.
If you compare them to houses on foundation they are only a fraction of the cost. Instead of me paying $320,000 for a 2200 sqft house on foundation, I paid a sliver of that and I have zero mortgage. Only lot rent. So while everyone in houses is paying on theirs for 30 years...mine is paid off.

@FoolyLiving to build, it doesn’t cost a lot, but you in her case, she paid for electricity and Energy consuming products added in (washer and drying, stove, fridge, lighting, ac ect.) So she didn’t have to put it in herself
@Jayne Eyre Ultimately up to the lifestyle. She can lock up and drive anywhere in the country. And since part of her business is going to craft shows, she can travel to any of them to secure financial opportunities. And even if the cost doesn't seem worthwhile, she's leaving a much smaller footprint on the environment. Since this curbed a hoarding issue (consider how much money was going to waste for goods she never used), she has way more advantages living in a tiny home.

I love tiny houses on wheels. What's upsetting to me as a urban planner is that most cities don't allow them to be parked within their boundaries in the Western world. I also think the rent you have to pay ($600) is too expensive. The RV industry also is refusing to label most of these buildings as RVs so they can't park at mobile home parks. If I went tiny, I'd definitely buy my own parcel of land, add solar and a rainwater system so no one could try to control me.
Yea, finding parking can be tough! Thank goodness there are so many resources to find legal places. Plus, tiny houses are gaining recognition as full time living so hopefully parking places see that as no big deal that RV isnt attached to the name. I'm not RVIA certified and I'm in a campground. But I agree the rules and regulations are a bit crazy.

Ok this, this is my favorite tiny house that I've ever seen. There is just enough room for everything and there is so much smart storage and everything for the cats like the vent for the litter box area is genius! I love the look and the feel of it, so amazing
Thanks a bunch for the compliments! It took a lot of planning for all that storage. I am an impulsive person so I didnt want to just go with first ideas. I used notebooks and planned the entire things out and it worked!! :)
Yes!! And her office space would be perfect for a ground level bedroom. I could actually see my teenage daughter and me living in this space with our cats and not feeling claustrophobic! There's just enough space for everything without having a ton of extra stuff, and without having to take 20 minutes to dig out every little thing to use for the day! (Which is often why I've found tiny homes so impractical- it's hard to constantly move everything just to live.) This is hands down the best design I've seen!
I loved this tour... this looks like a tiny house that I could live in... a tiny house that had tons of storage and felt lived in because she had the extra stuff... my biggest worry is not having anywhere to put my clothes LOL
My clothes hang on the ceiling in my loft. I also have a dresser drawers with 6 drawers and a night stand as well as plastic bins that hold seasonal clothes. Check out my newest storage video on my channel. :)

I love how she incorporates her business inside her tiny home, and the cat walk -- fantastic! The water system is great - would like to see more eco and/or offgrid features on tiny homes.
Thank you very much! Unfortunately the water system is being removed and refunded by the builder. It was an unperfected water system that caused a lot of problems and was admittedly put on the market too soon. The builder has since discontinued selling them.

@@TinyDreamer Probably because they have to make a profit to be able to stay in business. I've watched MANY tiny house videos. 100K is common, especially when folks buy one built. Anyone who says you paid too much for a custom designed, brand-new fully functional house on wheels is full of it. RVs cost more than 100K new, and you've got something so much better.

I think I have seen one of this companies done for a single mom who did a similar thing for her son. I think the loft on the other side was a little bigger. But like I said I like this one.

I mean...WHY? Water is an absolute necessity for life and we are forced to PAY FOR IT Every day of our lives! But it is FREE! If you think about it IT IS THE BIGGEST MONEY-MAKING RACKET EVER! Starting now, if every parent of a teenager began helping said teenager to begin building their "adult" home, be it a tiny house on wheels, or a 150 square foot tiny house on land...whatever! Spend the four years of your highschool time building an off grid home, imagine how much better their lives would be? Never an electric or water bill. Never worry about rent? The lack of stress alone is worth it! The ability to not starve or be homeless while searching for your own dream? What a better world , what better people we would be in just one generation from just that one four year project....done while you're in high school! What a gift to give your child...the knowledge alone of creating your own house...plus the freedom it will give them forever if they choose.

I remember being in my apartment and whenever anyone was over and getting something out of my cabinets they would slam them shut and all you could hear was a loud pop each time of the wood banging into the cabinet. These are so much quieter and easier. Not many guests go in them though...lol. I still love them!

The builder is Incredible Tiny Homes and I dont really recommend them but you can do what you want! :)

Her cats ARE cute, but her house is "cuter"! Thank you for sharing her story. It is so easy to collect 'stuff' [shout out to a George Carlin Comedy Spiel] nd often hard to let it go! I moved out of my 2 bedroom apt for financial reasons, and then spent $116/month to store the furniture and stuff I couldn't sell. Here I am 9 months later preparing to move to CT, and room at my daughters. My goal? She's letting me live rent free so O can save $$$/mo for a mini school bus, and convert it into my own home. Hats off to Jen! and the whole timy living community!

Her cat totally stole the show, he's awesome :) and I love this house! I can't believe that she was worried he would fall.. so what if he did fall? Cats can jump/fall from a lot higher than that and be fine. My one friend had a third story balcony and every time her male went into heat he would find a way out there and fling himself down to the ground three stories below without a scratch. The cat in this video has a lot of sass you can see it in his face when she takes his picture on the railing lol.

Love this home I saw it in person as well as many others I loved Incredible Tiny Homes you should do a tour with Randy he builds amazing tiny homes. I was so impressed when I go tiny he will build mine for sure.

I went to a tiny house show they had on property and the homes were amazing they had over 20 to view including this one and thy all were different . They will build my tiny in the near future I was impressed with the company both in the heart and humbleness of the owner and the epic quality of the homes.

This has got to be by far my favorite tiny house I have seen. It has so much space, and I live the idea of the kitty litter area. I would love to have this tiny house because of all of the special rooms, and space. I think it would be a struggle for me to get into a composting toilet but after time it wouldn’t be to bad. Great job! 😂👍

Very cool!! My only suggestion would be to keep the hanging clothes in garment bags because of the cat hair that will collect on them.

This is one of the most beautifully decorated AND functional tiny homes I've seen.
This house is fantastic! except for the exposed hanging clothes it really appeals to me aesthetically. Love the cat box set up and the office under storage. fantastic Tiny house.

It's beautiful, but again, I just can't see paying that much money for a tiny home. One of the main reasons people want tiny homes is for affordability. I don't want to pay more than $20,000 for a living space...preferable even less. At this rate, I'll have to shoot for a TeePee instead....until greedy TeePee sellers see that there's a market for TeePees and start raising the prices on those. Uggh. I hate greed.

The $58k she paid is actually very reasonable. You have to take into consideration that tiny homes are built just like a regular stick-built house. Much better than a poor quality trailer home. Bigger wall studs, floor joists, thicker insulation, higher quality windows, doors, cabinetry, flooring, etc. That quality costs more. Don't forget that labor to build the tiny house is not free. You're paying a home builder to build your custom home. They deserve to make a living at it. Spec out a regular size custom built house the same and you'll be shocked at the cost. $200-$400/sqft is not uncommon. I'm seeing tiny house builders charging in excess of $90k now for 30'+ models.

The rain catch system is super cool. Very self sufficient tiny! I love the movement but probably see myself with a larger sq ft tiny house or combination of two of them. I would want a separate or add-on large living room entertaining area. Hosting large get togethers is somewhat sacrificed with tiny houses. While downsizing is nice, communities also need places to gather in many homes.
Such great points!! I have a video that I did on 10 Things I would do differently and having a better living area is one of them. My guests often feel cramped on my couch with a 2 inch cushion. They sit on the carpeted stairs or on the floor. Not much room. I'm looking to purchase a real couch for that area and put that couch bed storage thing in the garage or on my deck when I have one built. Thanks so much for watching! :)

I would like a house like that, but not on a trailer. Only embedded in the ground, on site.
Some like tiny houses on foundation...I preferred mine on wheels so I could move it wherever I decided to go. A house on foundation cant be moved. Maybe I'll take the tires off when I get into a more permanent spot, like my own land. :D
