Great to see you again Paul, and very sensible to keep the other projects in the bag until you’re ready to let them out ! And the greatest of respect for having a go at the truss rod in the bass….. man that shot of you attacking the fretboard with a hot iron and a blunt instrument….aaaarrrrggghhhh ! you’re a lot braver man than me😮. Be interesting so see how that pans out. All the best, R
JB Weld is incredible stuff. I once remanufactured an engine gearbox case half on a motorcycle using that stuff after having a chain break and sending it into (through) said engine case. I wish someday that Marelon would sell a home epoxy mix that would be like the same glass-reinforced plastic they make their through-hulls and seacocks out of but for DIY Marelon projects. That stuff is great and having the ability to mold your own Marelon stuff would be fantastic.
Yes, I was very impressed with the JB Weld. It is a shame I lost the footage of the actual fix. But I do have another similar application I can show. I would have no hesitation using it for loads of applications. A Marelon based epoxy product would be great. There is definitely a gap in the market there. I do use something called Pattex Kintsglue for small indoor products. It is like an epoxy 'clay' that hardens as a semi-flexible rubber/plastic substance. It is too expensive for any bigger jobs. And there are no technical spec sheets, so I wouldn't trust it underwater. Even though it does say it is waterproof and withstands temperatures from -20C to +150C. Cheers, Paul
Sorry, only just picked this up. I still have some footage of the JB Weld project. But the actual bit where applied it is missing. I will use it for a different project new month. Cheers, Paul
OK, so I might have exaggerated just a bit. It was only the head gasket. But that's still pretty impressive in a Honda engine that has only done a mere 190,000 miles. Hardly even run-in. Cheers, Paul

Thanks. of course there is a very thin line between brave and reckless (or worse). It very nearly got a bit reckless.
Cheers, Paul

How blown up was the Honda engine?
