I saved a crystal xbox from the dump, but it was a 1,6, i've put in a mobo of a 1,4 and i did the TSOP flash, installed a 250gb new old stock ide hard drive and led lights, and this xbox is a gem! All my games are on that thing and it plays really nice, especially with the new old stock controller i got for it, no previous gamer juice on my hands is so nice to have :p
@@bramvandenbroeck5060 that’s amazing you were able to do that. It’s a shame how so many are thrown away Instead of being reused for parts if it’s something not worth fixing or totally broke. Omg the controllers it’s so hard finding used clean ones! I have my eyes on the Retro Fighters Xbox wireless controller. I own their PS version, so I want to test the Xbox version out and see if it’s better than the aftermarket controller I have already. I was thinking added leds to this system too but kept it simple because of its state. I changed the power led color from green to orange within software. Thanks for watching it means a lot!
@@JoeyAnswer I did the same with my power button, and i got the controller from a friend, his old xbox came with 2, but he never unboxed the second one, so i got lucky i guess, only problem was, the rubber was getting goopy, so i ordered some xbox one s aftermarket sticks, feels so nice now! And yeah, i had an aftermarket one at first as well, a clone of the duke, after 5 gameplay sessions, it had stick drift already . . . And let me know how this Retro Fighter controller feels, it might be a good option for when my og controller ever dies or something :) these xboxes are awesome machines! Sad that the majority of people don't understand how to mod these systems, it's so easy once you know how!
@@bramvandenbroeck5060 that’s awesome you come across that. I had that happen to my graphite PS2 controller I bought. The case was in great shape but the sticks I replaced because of that sticky rubber. I like the controller I own now, got it new and it seems great to me. But I really want a wireless one so if I bring the system I have less wires. I have to do a review of the Retro Fighter controller being I’m use to it now. Yes it’s easy to get the og Xbox setup for mods. PS2 I fine easier and it’s a soft mod, which is neat if you did want to sell it and someone doesn’t want a modded system. Though being a PS2 user and now experiencing the Xbox it’s ashame like you said people don’t try it. PS2 is amazing, but the Xbox has the edge in my opinion for the picture quality
@@JoeyAnswer The xbox was ahead of it's time, the inclusion of ethernet was a seller to me because my dad just got broadband in our house so it was a no brainer to choose the xbox, i also had a ps2, which was a great system, but my parents used it more than i did, it was the cheapest dvd player of its time, that was the real reason my mom bought this, i benefitted from this so to speak :p and earlier, it was a real pain in the rear end to mod a ps2 before the dvd exploit, you needed a mcboot card already, and way back in the day, i didn't knew anybody with a modded ps2, while some friends with xboxes had modded their systems with a usb stick and a game, a friend did it while the thing was on and he hot swapped the drive and modded it that. And i don't know why the rubber on these sticks do that, i thought it was because of the salt in our skin that the rubber was degrading, but after opening that sealed controller, i know now that it just does that regardless, which is weird. Looking forward to your wireless controller review for the og xbox then, i really am curious how good (or bad) it might be, as long as it is not the brand Mad Catz, i am all in :p

The case on the Xbox is so dope
@@RoddieeTV I know! Ever time I see it I’m happy I got this one, it’s been holding up well being a skin.
