Derek Wilson Grey and Jason do have similar voices! I think I actually thought 'wow this guy sounds like CGP Grey' when I first started listening. I've now listened to so many episodes of M&L that my mind jumps the other way when I hear the Broke For Free song.
The one time CGP burst out of his Redditor pseudo-intellectualism and became human. Only to dive back down with the rest of his videos, and it was three years ago.
@@Aadhitiya_Murali CGP Grey in almost all of his videos tends to make himself less than human in his presentations, practically robotic whilst dispensing information at a constant rate without pause or wishing to elaborate on basically anything. He's also a gigantic Redditor which means he's a plague on this earth that happens to be blessed with a decent amount of intelligence, but wastes it infinitely on a website that is a gigantic echo chamber at the best of times. Not only are you unique, but you're *so* unique that, unless you're already an identical twin, the chance of your DNA being naturally duplicated during the lifespan of the universe is essentially 0.
You are failing to understand why Grey answered the question this way. If the question "what makes you unique?" is so easily answered, job interviews would surely become a lot less stressful. Unless you can systematically and effectively describe something like your fingerprints, your facial biometrics, or even map out your entire genome sequence, there is no practical way you can point out what is unique about you that no one else shares. As in, describe something unique about you that is guaranteed no one else shares, verifiably, and not an impractical answer. (Like "my DNA," because no one can possibly verify it save for an unprecedented international cooperation effort) Of course, I do not refute the argument that Grey should probably have chosen another question.
the thing about no one being unique in a world of billions is kinda based off the presumption that there are less than 7 billion combinations of characteristics and experiences that make up a human being.
Sorry I'm guilty of the "follow your dreams thing". For a long time it was difficult for me to realize many people don't have dreams they base their entire existences on.
Well I'm a professional animator, so doing drawings and saving my books helps me keep track of my progress. As for writing, I write ideas down for later, but also I take account of my current goals and priorities. And as those change over time, I can keep old goals/ideas from falling through the cracks of time. It keeps my from getting anxious about all the stuff (golden shit, I am convinced haha) that goes through my head: ideas for projects, music I want to check out, goals for my future, ideas on how to be less depressed, weekly goal lists. If I write it down, I can trust myself to find it again if it's important. Thus, I don't try to constantly try to remember everything. I can be much more in the moment, which is vital for my work, and my enjoyment of my life. Also, the act of writing and drawing itself feels good and relieves anxiety in the moment, while also being good practice. Having a small, pocket-sized book allows me to fall into the comfortable pillow fort of my creative mind whenever I want.
Wow, I needed that "passion" talk real bad right now. Thank you. Also that writing down tip. So far, I've only consistently documented my dreams (the night ones), here's hoping I'll be writing more than that from now on!
And then a few seconds later, when all the youtubers return, CGP is standing in his place. He's even pointing at 'chaotic evil' on the alignment chart.
Evil works out of the desire to hurt others. Neutral works out of the desire to help themselves. Good works out of the desire to help others. How they choose to implement that is lawful vs chaos. A warlord who loves to rule over others is evil. A warlord who wants power is neutral. A warlord who wants to empower people is good. Logan Paul is egotistical. He cares for himself over anyone else. He gains this power by bullying others and demonstrating greatness over them. This makes him mostly neutral evil, leaning towards chaos and true neutral. A person like CGPGrey wishes to be an individual known for being smart and entertaining. However, he also wishes for his viewers to become smarter and entertained. His strong philosophies and ideologies originate from academics. This pushes him towards lawful good, but close to neutral good.
The thing about school being a glorified babysitting service mixed with a game of trivial pursuit is so true. School does very little to prepare you for the outside world, and colleges do very little to prepare people for (most) vocations. Yet business still insist on you having this meaningless, very expensive, piece of paper, instead of using some sort of apprenticeship system where people can learn skills they will actually use while actually being productive. Additionally, high school gives everyone vast amount of general knowledge information that people forget like 90% of within a few years, and then colleges have the nerve to set general education requirements that do more of the exact same thing, except much much more expensive. Furthermore, blue collar wages continue to increase as many white collar jobs see a drop in pay because so many people are getting these degrees that the more menial jobs that require practical skills not taught in colleges are becoming more valuable. Yet, for the most part, we still need to commit thousands of dollars and years of our life to this institution that teaches us very little practical knowledge or life skills. tldr; our school system's f*cked up -sincerely, a frustrated college student
That's why you take something like programming, which, for all practical purposes, is a self-taught skill that you'll learn anyways, but college also gives you a fancy paper for having done so. If you want to skip the whole college thing, do IT. Cisco offers certification exams, as does Microsoft, that are usable in certain job situations without any college degrees whatsoever.
Allow me to guide you to "Hello Internet #7: Sorry, Language Teachers" and "Hello Internet #9: Kids in a Box" where CGP Grey and Brady Haran discuss their 'neutral' opinions on school.
It made me think that all the way up to high school is preparing you for college, and college gives you keys to jobs. It's valueless at teaching adulting...
My fellow 7th grader says: "Set the bar super low, so if you fail, you expect it, and if it turns out good, then you have a reason to be happy." Best philosophy I heard ever.
Yes, everyone. That is except the Americans, Japanese, and Chinese (and probably several others I've missed). EDIT: did you know there's a calendar wiki!? It's actually super interesting.

It's weird how much of what you say sticks with me. Often times I look to myself for direction and hear your voice. I appreciate everything that you're doing mate. 🤘
Re: the D&D alignment chart, I once envisioned bringing that to the 3rd dimension by adding the factors "Blue", "Orange", and "Neutral". This was quite some time ago, however, thus I cannot remember what the "Blue" and "Orange" factors meant. I would be quite happy if you, Grey, or anyone else in the comments were to supply their own meanings to "Blue" and "Orange". And before anyone asks, yes, these colors were inspired by the colors of the portals produced from the primary Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device from the Portal games.
Jesus christ I didn't think I'd find so much enlightenment by clicking on a Grey vid with meme in the title, this is amazing. Thank you for the analogies, it really hit for me as I'm sure it did many others.
While you may not be able to influence the past with communication, it changes the way you communicate in the present with your future self which to me makes the communication two way in a sense. So the arrow going forward is you writing something for the future, and the arrow going backward is your reflection on your past writing translating into your new writing. (You're welcome for ruining the 10/10 joke)
The shadow reached out like two vast wings. ("like two vast wings" hits "reached" which was done by the shadow, so the shadow was like two vast wings, saying nothing about the creature, then, as you said, the creature has wings, and with this, we can say, once and for all, yes, it has wings!)
Grey's alignment chart was pretty funny. I remember seeing one for Batman with a quote in each slot. The alignment chart idea is much more fun and poignant that way when you can use it as a measure of how dynamic they are.

Also that writing down tip. So far, I've only consistently documented my dreams (the night ones), here's hoping I'll be writing more than that from now on!

Bleached Turtle nam jeff
35,000 people cant be wrong.
A Surprise to be sure but a Welcome one.
Good vid, cya again in 4 years.
You can always just listen to his podcast. . .
4:15 Holy shit, is that Mr. Plinkett in the bottom right corner? :D
And then a few seconds later, when all the youtubers return, CGP is standing in his place. He's even pointing at 'chaotic evil' on the alignment chart.
who the fuck is Mr. Pinkett?
Grey likes RedLetterMedia, specifically the star wars reviews
Villa He's a guy who hired a couple of hack frauds to fix his VCR.
Plinkett is chaotic evil
The Hello Internet references in this are amazing! hahaha
Examples? I haven't seen every ep.
I must know!
The flower emoji was my favorite.
I think pretty much all quotes from the D&D alignment system are from episodes of HI; I felt familiar with all quotes.
Chaotic Evil for RUclips would be Jake Paul.
F1scherman No, he'd be lawful evil. Maybe neutral. Chaotic would be like, ISIS videos.
Or Logan Paul.
ehh more like chaotic neutral he is just reckless not purposely bad (I still hate him though)
@@wyhiobcarlile4879 His troll of the flat earthers earned him the neutral rating.
I watched the whole ad for audible just waiting to see any hat changes.

Finally my life has meaning
Watch the Q&A vids back to back and watch grey slowly becoming happier
"I'd live a really long time" You made me spit on my screen Grey.
Yet, for the most part, we still need to commit thousands of dollars and years of our life to this institution that teaches us very little practical knowledge or life skills.
tldr; our school system's f*cked up
-sincerely, a frustrated college student
I wouldn't hire a non-engineer for an engineering job.

I deeply appreciate the hidden positivity of your analytical viewpoints on life. Thank you for this video.
chaotic good grey = happy brady
Modern College = Daycare is probably the best and simple equation ever.
Plus, it's way over priced and overrated, especially if you're learning something like coding, which can be self taught to a large degree.
Technically, it can be self-taught to *no* degree, since you only get those at college
3:29
What would you do if you became immortal?
CGP: I’d live a really long time.
the answer to the question glass half whatever is when did fill it
Half full: you fill it half way
Half empty: you drank half

"Are memes the future of humanity?"
Fast forward to to 2022, and they have literally become currency.
That's not what he meant by memes, but that's hilarious
Wanted: The 7th planet King George, of metaphorical wings, non-unique in a world of billions, and wears a hat.
Danger levels: Chaotic Evil
Quoted from Richard Dawkins' book _The Selfish Gene_: "We leave two things behind us when we die: genes and memes"
That fishing metaphor was beautiful.
CPG Grey video??? is it Christmas??
Must be a leap year. Don't these come only on leap years?
It's not christmas, the next video will be on christmas tho
Nah
YEAH DUDE
No, it's not November 1st yet.
My fellow 7th grader says: "Set the bar super low, so if you fail, you expect it, and if it turns out good, then you have a reason to be happy." Best philosophy I heard ever.
watching these videos clears and calms my mind, it's appreciated
yyyy-mm-dd? Yes! You're in my tribe! :D

You’re such a WEEEEEEEEEEEEEnie, EVERYONE uses dd-mm-yyyy!
Yes, everyone. That is except the Americans, Japanese, and Chinese (and probably several others I've missed).
EDIT: did you know there's a calendar wiki!? It's actually super interesting.
dd-mm-yyyy

Grandkid: grandpa, can you help me with a school report?
Me: what is it about?
Grandkid: Memes.
Me: I finally am useful.
1:45 - 2:09 I think that is one of the best advice and example I've heard for a long, long time.
This comment is a *meme*
This reply is a *meme*
All human interactions are memes or based on memes, but not internet-memes. But maybe in the future like in Greg Bear's Eon. Ah emoticons language (what a horror that would be)...
Ambitionnnnnn ❤
I'm the guy who keeps donating $6.66 to your stream;$(#$
But what if I'm not human but just a meme??????
Agreed on YYYY-MM-DD
Makes sorting thing by date so much easier.
It's weird how much of what you say sticks with me. Often times I look to myself for direction and hear your voice. I appreciate everything that you're doing mate. 🤘
Dylan Thome If you're not already a Tim, you should check out Hello Internet, Grey's podcast
I actually laughed watching this, nice vid. Bless you all.
Jesus Christ holy shit
Filthy N'wah
Yes
Thanks Christ
Amen
Re: the D&D alignment chart, I once envisioned bringing that to the 3rd dimension by adding the factors "Blue", "Orange", and "Neutral". This was quite some time ago, however, thus I cannot remember what the "Blue" and "Orange" factors meant. I would be quite happy if you, Grey, or anyone else in the comments were to supply their own meanings to "Blue" and "Orange". And before anyone asks, yes, these colors were inspired by the colors of the portals produced from the primary Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device from the Portal games.
Grey's talk about passion is just the perfect pep talk for me right now. Thank you awesome sir. 😭

Spotted Mr. Plinkett
Inhale the memes. Exhale the memes. I inject the memes straight into my blood stream.

Yo dawg, I herd u liek memes, so I put an Xzibit in your reply so you can meme while you inject stuff into your blood stream.
misquote from the song "meme machine"
without memes i will die.
Jesus christ I didn't think I'd find so much enlightenment by clicking on a Grey vid with meme in the title, this is amazing. Thank you for the analogies, it really hit for me as I'm sure it did many others.
4:32 This question changed my life.
Finally cgpgrey video
I'm gonna rewatch that fishing part every time I have doubts about what I want to do next in my life.
Breaking NEWS! CGP Grey has invented time travel! (2:49 Check arrows)
Lawful Good: vlogbrothers. Chaotic Evil: Jake Paul.
Vlogbrothers definitely lawful good.
Didn't think Q&A With Grey: Meme Edition was going to be the wisest video I've seen all week 1:06
That segway was so smooth I only realised it after watching the video a second time
Wait a second, I know that lake at 1:57! I hiked there this summer.
6:21 - CGP Grey THE FINAL BOSS
Wow... you've just changed my view of life and the world with a 7 min Q & A... this is... Awesome. Thank you.
