I have to say based on the awesome paint job and what you did for that model. I just bought the starter box for the Lumineth. LOVING THE LOOK OF THIS FACTION.,
And I'm not even a player yet. As well as very new almost in the art of painting minis. But a beautiful model of an animated suit of armor. That model should now be set as the newest high bar for GW to strive in all future models.

Shake it like a madman, be sure the can is warm before starting. Then do short bursts from close. Don't shoot it from 30 cm like the can says, that's a recipe for disaster, max 10 cms, and super short and quick bursts. Also don't try to cover 100% of the model, that will only lead to caking your model in paint, use the base paint to cover those hard to reach spots

If you want to paint a extremely fine line you can try using a HG Pointed Brush (extra fine or ultra fine)from Tamiya, it has a extremely fine tip. Thanks for the inspirational paintjobs!!

There are 8 Stormhosts with rules and lore in the Battletome (so kind of equivalent to the main space marine chapters) but then there are a BUNCH of colour schemes who all have like one sentence lore descriptions (so much closer to lesser successor chapters). But the Hammers of Sigmar (or golden poster boys) are pretty much the Ultramarines of AoS

Oh I forgot about the blue cloth part. I would personally use regular acrylics for that. Kantor Blue, wash with Nuln Oil, Kantor again, and Highlights with Thousand Sons Blue, Temple Guard Blue and Baharroth Blue would look great

Question I've been debating. Can you use Lahmian Medium with contrast paints? Whats the difference between that and the contrast medium? Also just stumbled onto your page after I just started assembling my realm lords. Sweet paint job!
Thanks! Contrast Medium will maintain the properties of Contrast Paints better than Lahmian. Lahmian will make them runnier and thinner. You can use Lahmian but the results might be a bit different. I personally prefer to use each paint with its own medium to preserve the chemistry intact but I'm a bit weird.

seriously .. how do you know what mix of contrast paint will do ? (ex : aggaros dunes and militarum green). did you test it and you know what it will do or is initution? or something else ?
I usually paint a test first which is usually something that I can strip if it goes bad like the backpack of a marine but I've never had to do that yet. My sense of colour is very good, it's one of those things I just know it will work
This is definitely one my favourite paintjobs from you! Can you confirm the mix you used for basecoating the gold? On video you say it's 2:1 mix of Retribution armour and Stormhost silver but the graphics says the opposite ratio.
Try to warm the can before use in a bowl of hot water, not boiling! Just warm/hot. Shake the can VERY well, and I cannot stress that out enough, if you think you are done, then you need to shake it more and remember to warm it up well. Then the most important part is that you don't spray it too far away, that's what most people do wrong, spray close, quick short burst and moving the can quickly from side to side. Also don't overspray, it's better to cover small misses with the regular pot than to overspray it.

I used my Rosemary and Co Series 33 size 3 for almost everything, only time I used the size 4 was to apply the Contrast over the cape
I might use this scheme for wardens aswell, Black and white looks amazing. Nice to see Age of Sigmar content especially when those are aelves :D

seriously .. how do you know what mix of contrast paint will do ? (ex : aggaros dunes and militarum green). did you test it and you know what it will do or is initution? or something else ?
I usually paint a test first which is usually something that I can strip if it goes bad like the backpack of a marine but I've never had to do that yet.
My sense of colour is very good, it's one of those things I just know it will work

This is definitely one my favourite paintjobs from you! Can you confirm the mix you used for basecoating the gold? On video you say it's 2:1 mix of Retribution armour and Stormhost silver but the graphics says the opposite ratio.
Yeah it was my mistake while recording. The graphics are ALWAYS correct over the me speaking

My corax white spray always comes out super chalky, to the point it's worthless to use.......
Try to warm the can before use in a bowl of hot water, not boiling! Just warm/hot.
Shake the can VERY well, and I cannot stress that out enough, if you think you are done, then you need to shake it more and remember to warm it up well.
Then the most important part is that you don't spray it too far away, that's what most people do wrong, spray close, quick short burst and moving the can quickly from side to side. Also don't overspray, it's better to cover small misses with the regular pot than to overspray it.

Man, I use contrast on a cape and it does NOT do that. It's always patchy.
Being the black one helps as it's extremely subtle over Mechanicus, but using a large brush is very important
