I am addicted to the silent RUclips restoration tutorials like Brian the bootmaker and other vintage tool restorers and this video was up that alley. Thanks and I'd be down for silent build tutorials
Awesome! Thanks for the great styrene info! I do remember the push top pop cans, but only when we would spend time with my Aunt & Uncle in Dundas, ON. I don't remember seeing them state side. Homemade is made at home. Handmade is made by hand. Most homemade things are also handmade.
Hahahaha that1:40 sec mark, was waiting for it. Oh my gosh! Wipers! Every build will have pop cans now! I like to make scale ice for my coolers out of small leftover pieces of clear styrene.
Yeah i remember those soft drink cans, sometimes hard to push in the spots to open .. PS google said, Many "homemade" items are also "handmade," because people make things at home by hand
Nice - like those scale accessories. I just wish I could do finishing better. I made my Honcho (SCX10 II) a new bumper (home made - I didn't hand make it, I 3D printed it), and spent 10 hours trying to finish it (filled it with bondo, sanded it smooth, primered it (filler primer), sanded it, primered again, sanded it, primered it, sanded it, etc, etc... It turned out "okay"...Sort of - it looks's reasonable. But does not look like I spent that kind of time on it for sure. Fun, but also frustrating. Ah well, I'll just keep it it and hope one day I will get the hang of it. :-)
Really enjoyed this one Matt!! I love working with Styrene. Have for almost 36 years. So many things that you can do. You've actually given me ideas... If I wanted to model my Daughter's Truck, I'd need to COMPLETELY cover the floorboards with Fast Food trash!! 😋 Carmine ✈🚂🚙
My first styrene (if its speld like that), is a willys jeep and a ford truck. Bouth in process, but the willys is almost done. Thanks agin for a great chanel
Got my Element Sendero today 7-5 19. put my SBG sticker on back window and walking Bigfoot sticker I live in Shasta county California One of the Bigfoot county in Northern Cali.
Ok I have a question, because I don't know. How strong is styrene? If you make lets say wheel wells for a crawler and roll it a few times will they hold up? Thanks
Wow. These look great! You obviously have a lot of practice. Is that plastic cement you're using, or can you use that? (Like the Tamiya Extra Thin Cement.)
Looking good I like the styrene cans that's really clever, can't wait to see what new body you choose and on a side note I left a comment on Josh's build about a possible next budget build how a bout doing a RC4WD TF2 MOJAVE KIT, I've noticed you have a couple an though that would be a good since most of the build you guys so a linked trucks, how about a leaf sprung rig just a thought love the videos an will look at maybe doin some styrene. Thank you.
I believe to be classified as Homemade you would have make your own polystyrene. Hand made is using already made products to come up with your own creation. Blah Blah Blah LoL Looking forward to next week.
Handmade refers to something made by hand and not by machine and generally of a higher quality. Homemade refers to something made at home and not in a factory generally a homemade item would be considered not up to the quality and spec of a factory built item. How’d I do?
Well, "homemade" means "made at home" while "handmade" means made by hand, not by a machine. Many "homemade" items are also "handmade," because people who make things at home aren't factory owners and can't afford expensive machinery.
Compared to the scale cars it's more hardcore. At least in this class. Not compared to the ones that look like 4 wheels and a motor obviously. If scale is more important the TRX-4 G wagon is closer to the real thing since the G500 4x4 squared is the only real car with straight axles and portals. That's my opinion at least. 🙂
Which "scale cars" are you comparing it to? And the whole point is for me to try and make this "more scale" and still perform. You understand that, right?
Any other TRX-4, Axial SCX10 2, Redcat Gen8 are cars with more attention to scale than the Sport. If Traxxas wanted the Sport to be scale they wouldn't give it that body. I get what you're doing since you're a scale builder though. 🙂
Go ahead and throw those pop cans into the interior.... I’ll wait here. 😁
Oh, just you wait.

I may have something in the works for that very purpose!
@@scalebuildersguild the calm quiet and sounds of sped up working is somehow relaxing and calming for me. Incorporating RC into that is great
Terrific video. Ok I’ll go buy some styrene plastic and make my own wipers and put them on the truckster.
Do it!
Brilliant move with the tires on the MEK!!! I'm definitely stealing that for some bottles of stuff.

Headlight wipers for the win! Glad you decided to do that!
Me too! Cheers!

the headlight wipers are gona be awesome on the rig, awesome how to on the pop cans and wipers!

Thanks for making me feel old about the pop can. Really like this series.
You're so welcome! ;)
very nice work . takes a steady hand and artistic talent
Practice and patience!
I really love your channel, I'm new to the scaler scene and I've learned a bunch and got some great ideas.
Glad I could help inspire!
If that makes me look like a genius, I'm all in!
Success!
I am super keen on the tire usage for the bottle. Could have saved so many mml of this stuff from spilling. lol. Thanks for the hack.
Happy to help!
Great idea for the glass Glue bottle to be in the tires! I am always knocking stuff over on my overcrowded bench... LOL...
It's a genius level hack!
Yeah i remember those soft drink cans, sometimes hard to push in the spots to open ..

Those cans were so weird. I remember I'd see a bunch already pushed in by lousy kids at the grocery store! Haha
Always fun to watch you work 👍🏾
Ha, thanks!
Scale Builder's Guild thank you for sharing your talents with us👍🏾
would be awesome if you could make the book look like a repair manual for the TRX-4
HAHAHAHA Comment of the day!
Great build off between you and Harley Designs!
Cheers!
YES I got my headlight wipers!
Hahahaha
Great tips.
Love the shirt.
Thanks!
That was fun:) thanks

HA! Thanks sir.
Nice work
Thanks Wes!
Another one. Lets go!!
And another one!
I’m a plastic model builder. I love working with styrene. Never thought of soda cans though, going to make some now.
Right on!
Use to make all kinds of stuff when i was 13 . Now a days the eyes are going ,you tend to buy things like scale accessories because of that.
I'll make, until I can't make no more!
Careful with the flame near your styrene glue. That stuff is highly flammable.
I hope you're telling others this, and not me.
@@scalebuildersguild Well, seeing you bottle of glue was open, and you had and open flame........
I want to get a trx4 for Christmas your build is going great
They were pull tabs on the old cans. They still rock them like that in SE Asia. lol
That is awesome
Thanks!
My first styrene (if its speld like that), is a willys jeep and a ford truck. Bouth in process, but the willys is almost done. Thanks agin for a great chanel
That was cool, thanks for the info👍👍
Anytime!
I've been waiting.
Sorry to keep you waiting.
Would a sorrca rule book count as functional?
I like the way you think!
Scale Builder's Guild I have to think efficiently to make up for my driving.
When I was growing up it was pull tabs
Headlight wipers👌lol
I'm a funny guy.
That was Coors beer that open that way
Ha, and Pepsi!
you need to make a Harley sucks shirt out of styrne, and add it inside
Hhahaha good idea!
Got my Element Sendero today 7-5 19. put my SBG sticker on back window and walking Bigfoot sticker I live in Shasta county California One of the Bigfoot county in Northern Cali.
Awesome, congrats on the purchase!
Ok I have a question, because I don't know. How strong is styrene? If you make lets say wheel wells for a crawler and roll it a few times will they hold up? Thanks
Provided you construct it properly, styrene can hold up to a fair bit of abuse.
I can’t believe you made wipers, who would have thought?!?! Lol
Hahahaha
KILLER video!! My try that out sometime!! 👍👍✔. NC MOUNTAINS..
Give it a go!
Matt you should make your book "math for dummies" 😆
Hahaha you actually did the wipers!!! I feel special kinda 🤣🤣🤣🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽 aloha my Braddah
Of course! How could I not?! ;)
How do you like Toyota fj cruisers the new ones like the hip Toyota
I like them, and have built a few in the past.
What body and truck it's the Toyota 4 runner in the background
It's a 4Runner, and it's on a JD Model HERO chassis that I cut up. Body is 3D printed.
I gotta do some monster cans for my Kyle spec scx10ii lol
Frig yeah you do!
We call it pop on the west coast. Dont feel bad. Lol.
Hahaha
Awesome
Cheers!
Inspired
Amazing!
Nice work sir. I tend to use Liquid Poly from my plastic modelling days, is MEK any different? Homemade is the where, Handmade is the how right?
I wouldn't know on the liquid poly. But Plastruct, or Bondene, or Same Stuff, is all the same stuff.
That second can looked like one pf Popeye's opened cans of spinach.
Haha, totally!
Awesomeness, great ideas. Have you done some scale stuff with polymer clay?
I haven't, but wouldn't be hard!
u should do mirror wipers
I wanted you to make a volt meter housing.
Then go watch Josh's video! ;)
Kyle definitely drinks monster. Doubles fists them.....🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Heck yeah he does.
not a single viper in this video!
Hahahahha
🤣
Yeah you crazy 😜😂. Ion know wth you talking about with the Pepsi can. 😁
I have my moments, thanks for the confirmation!
Well, I'm not refining my own styrene!! Stop it Kyle!!
Hahaha
Nice wipers. When will you sell me the TRD body?
HA!
@@scalebuildersguild I'm not laughing...lol I want that TRD body and I'll feature it on my Instagram and RUclips channel
10 thumbs up.
10 thanks!
Wow. These look great! You obviously have a lot of practice.
Is that plastic cement you're using, or can you use that? (Like the Tamiya Extra Thin Cement.)
It’s best to use MEK or styrene glue.
The title of the book should be - How to Beat Harley Designs.
I don't need a book for that. Boom roasted.
@@scalebuildersguild Ha Ha
Will MEK glue poly to lexan? Thanks in advance - I'm loving this build series.
No, it won’t. Only works in styrene.

1mm styrene?
I used .020 and .040.

I don't understand.
Tough truck competition
@@weesnaawatch2423 No, I know what a TTC is, but there's got to be hundreds around the world. I need more clarification.

WHAT THE DUCE IS UP WITH THAT T SHIRT!
Hahaha, made to confuse!
if you love styrene so much why don't ya marry it? ha!
I did, it was a lovely, small ceremony surrounded by family and MEK substitute.
There was a Canadian company you mentioned not in this video that made d90 chassis parts will you please pass on their site
I have no idea what you're talking about I'm afraid. Canadian company? GCM Racing?
@@scalebuildersguild that was it. Thanks much
Yesss! LOL

Homemade means something was made at home. Handmade means that something was made by hand.
Sorta.
Home made could be made with a machine. Hand build is by hand, no machine.
Well, "homemade" means "made at home" while "handmade" means made by hand, not by a machine. Many "homemade" items are also "handmade," because people who make things at home aren't factory owners and can't afford expensive machinery.
Not quite.
I copy and pasted that right from Google
No she never said that
She didn't?
Homie Handmade.....LOL
Erm, no?
I would rather see you make performance upgrades. The Sport is made for hardcore crawlers, not scale builders.
I had no idea it was made for hardcore crawlers. I guess I'd better load on the brass then, huh? 😂
Compared to the scale cars it's more hardcore. At least in this class. Not compared to the ones that look like 4 wheels and a motor obviously. Why make them just buy. Traxxas Bronco wipers lol
Because there’s tremendous satisfaction in making them yourself. Not everything needs to bought.
