Ok. Not sure if anyone else has brought this up or not, I ha ent read the comments to see. But, since you have your AFM valves up like that, you MUST have the car tuned to at least deactivate the AFM part of the programming. If you don’t, when your car goes to 4 cylinder mode, the ECM looks for an increase in back pressure thru the exhaust and those valves create that back pressure l. Having them tied up where they can not turn the valves to increase the pressure, you WILL take a risk of damaging your engine when it goes into 4 cyl mode without running a high enough back pressure. This is coming from some of the best tuners across the country. When they do tunes on cars, one thing they all do on any at that might possibly have exhaust work done later or has already is to deactivate the AFM so the valves do not turn at all and the motor never drops to 4 cyl mode.
So it’s not a good idea to install the afm sensor with a corsa exhaust ?? My car has the check engine light on and I want to install the afm sensor , but now I’m worried it will mess up Bc of the pressure your talking about . Any help ?
@@KevinN-ps8vkNo. To properly delete the AFM it is done in the ECM. Your ECM must be unlocked and then requires 2 credits for a mod to the ECM. When I changed my exhaust, I installed a catback that has the AFM delete plate. You mount your AFM valve to it but there is no valve in the exhaust to turn. The 20’s and up, GM got smart on the exhaust. They realized people were doing this so they changed the program in thenECM to look for the amount of resistance the exhaust AFM valve motor use to turn open and close the valves. If it doesn’t use the the amount of resistance needed, it causes a code in the ECM that displays a CEL on your dash. Everything I tried did not work. The only way to remedy this is to delete the entire AFM from the ECM. It cost me about $400 to have it done. My car no longer drops from 8 to 4 cylinder mode on the road now.i lost maybe 2-3 mpg from that because it didn’t bother me. I can still get 26mpg in a good road trip if I keep my foot out of the gas on my ‘21 2SS 1LE.
new sub. just installed my cat back and unplugged my afm valves thinking it wouldn’t be a problem but atleast now i know i can just tuck the valvles away. thank you man
@@qKJp it worked man. but if you already ran your car without them connected and tucked away your check engine light will stay on. untill the codes are cleared. i definitely do recommend you get your car “tuned” and just for they can disable v4 mode. your car will run healthier. and it’s only a 2mpg loss
There is only ONE way to delete the AFM and tune only wont remove afm and covers one small thing. The weak parts in the engine (4 lifters #1,#4,#6,#7 and cam) need to be replaced if you TRULY want to delete AFM. It will cost over 3500 for parts labor and tune.
The valve on the back is that what is zipped tied up or is that the first set close too the front I'm going todo a muffer delete soon but don't want no ck engine light on thank's
@ My tuner said that it should run fine without the afm valves but he recommends to tune out the afm completely which I did. Or u can add an x pipe that has afm valves. I have no experience with the afm disable module so I couldn’t say how that works with the car in the long run.
@@Zilla17707 thanks for response. I just got a 23 camaro ss and it has a muffler delete. I was driving last week and heard a clicking sound coming from rear passenger side every time I step off the gas. We checked for exhaust leaks and none. I have a afm disabler that I had bought for my escalade and put it on the camaro and it appears that the clicking has disapeared. I dont know what to do at this point since manufactuer warranty will probably be denied cuz of the muffler delete smh......
@ Oh I see I’m not sure about q clicking or rattling on the passenger side. But if u said that once u slapped on the disabled and it went away it could very well be the afm. At that point if you want to keep your warranty and not tune put your afm I would say to get a catback exhaust or at least an x pipe that comes with the valves. Good luck with your maro 👍
SCT and HP are the same thing, just one used a computer, but take what you know about SCT and apply it to HP, chances are it’s just called something different. SCT is hella user friendly! But HP gives you access to ERRRRTHING!!!!!
in your video starting at 6:13 you were showing the afm valves.. the shop that did my axle back didnt know what the plug was for so he just tucked it some where.. my plug is not connected to anything and i dont see the afm valve.. could that be why i have a engine light?

hpTuners: You don’t need to license the ECU to use the scanner functionality or to pull codes. You can also do a ECU read and save without licensing.

I have a 2017 c7 stingray that's turning my CEL on and off after putting the awe track edition exhaust on any advice?
Deleting afm valves with afm active will damage engine from loss of backpressure when the engine is in v4 mode
Will afm disablers take care of that issue?

Can I do this on my 2016 camaro rs? I have 4 AFM valves, I just got a muffler and resonator delete and my light is on can anyone help?
Does it make your car louder when there removed
Exhaust sounds nice. What exhaust is that you are using
Did the x pipe delete the secondary cats?
Do they have to go in a certain order or does it matter where they go??
