Maybe but I do remember hearing Bobby say he tried to give some ideas to Eric only for Eric to dismiss him and Bobby just gave up and settled to just collect a pay check
Yeah, the shoot interviews Bobby did in the early 2000s he explicitly answered the question on managing--he said there's a physicality element to being a manager, you're expected to occasional take bumps. Bobby had various physical ailments by the time he was a WCW announcer, he couldn't do that part of the job, he clearly said he was not up to managing by the mid-late 1990s.
I really wish Shane would have been the storyline owner of WCW for 18 months before an Invasion angle would have commenced. Then Shane would be have able to lead the big names into the angle right off the bat
What 18 months? Wcw literally was only for sale for 2 months. No one knew wcw would be sold 18 months before Vinny bought it and turner wanted it off their station when sold. There was no 18 months it would have been able to happen.
Maybe but the top nwo guys put themselves so front and center I feel like he would have ended up downplayed and pushed to the side like Ted DiBiase was.
I agree with Eric, I've tried watching Dynamite, and when every match ends and there is a run-in and a beat down or something similar, it's boring. I tried watching AEW two separate times months apart, and both shows matches ended with run-ins. I'm sorry, but it's just boring television
Might be a bit unfair on Hennan. Didn't Bobby Heenan say that he purposefully phoned it in a bit, because WCW was such a shit show, and people including Eric shooed him aside whenever he gave ideas, so he decided screw it, you don't want my input I won't bother giving it.
"Momentum shifting to AEW" without the virus and lockdown is a weird statement. Momentum did shift to AEW, not in massive numbers, but critically, their shows were better. Meanwhile, WWE were getting rightfully panned for producing utter nonsense. AEW had the foundation at that point, it was when the crowds came back that it turned around.
BH *despised* Bishoff. Bishoff was a glorified tiny marKahn, except he despised pro rasslin, and wanted to use rasslin as a springboard to get into Hollie wood or whatever.
Bobby Heenan "lasted" decades in Professional Wrestling. Bobby is a LEGEND. Bischoff is a footnote. Eric couldn't carry Bobby's jock...on his best night. Perfect example of why "WCW" crashed and burned with Bischoff at the helm.
Bobby Heenan wrestling national treasure loved him rip
So the actual question was “would Bobby Heenan been a good booker” and not if he would have been a manager?
Bobby echoed what Eric said about managing in WCW. He was physically spent by that point.
Bobby is long dead so Eric is echoing Bobby

I think Heenan would’ve been the manger of the 4 Horsemen
The AEW drop off is also major marketing issues in local markets, AND WWE has become so much closer to what the fans wanted
Bobby wasn’t a booker or a creative guy like people think. Once he went to WCW he knew the deal and his role to be the color guy for Tony or Eric.
Heenan as a kayfabe authority figure could have been interesting
i always thought Heenan in the Nwo as Hogan's Manager could have worked.
Maybe but the top nwo guys put themselves so front and center I feel like he would have ended up downplayed and pushed to the side like Ted DiBiase was.
Bobby Heenan's real talent was microphone skills. Anything else would have been a waste of his talent.

@@fabricatedego spot on. Every match is just about the same as every other match. That’s why their ratings are in the toilet.
Sounds like you’re describing bishof’s dubya see dubya
@@TheNinthHeart After Vince "Run In, Bro" Russo came along.
@@timthegem no it was like that under bishof too
I'm not talking about wcw, but yeah, thinking back, I thought those were annoying, too. Especially how every nWo matched ended.
Another victory for Eric. The fact that AEW is a certified shitshow today has nothing to do with the pandemic that ended three years ago, Connie.
WE is the shitshow, stop getting it twisted

If anything Roman Reigns/WWE used the pandemic to their benefit
Good Lord, Meltzer has really put on the Lbs and what's up with the effeminate, "yas queen" , sassy voice inflection?
"Are you gonna turn around, Bobby?"

Mark!!!
Bischoff. His name is in the title and you got it wrong twice. Doesn’t get any dumber than that
@ pardon..? Are you in the correct thread, bud??
