I don't think Undertaker would've worked as well even as the American Badass character in WCW. His gimmick was still a little contingent on Kane(in the Brothers of Destruction), he would've been in an entirely different locker room and under different leadership, and Eric was already trying to juggle a ton of talent from WWF at the time anyways. Mark was able to achieve his American Badass character in WWE through his own natural evolution while working under Vince, he held a significant status in the WWE locker room, and everyone always loved him working with Kane whether it was as allies or adversaries. Imagine all of that gone just so that Mark could try a different gimmick as a result of working in another company...while also trying to work with Hogan politicking his way about? I just don't see things working out as well.
He would have a similar case to how Brian Adams was booked..but definitely better booked..but then lost in the shuffle eventually. Taker would definitely have been Mean Mark Calaway or what we know as "The American Badass" Biker Taker.
The American Badass character could have worked and with that intro from Limp Bizkit and Lil Jon. He would have had the charisma too be champion. Just don’t know if Bischoff would try something dumb instead

@@JohnDoe-gk7ok WCW was atrocious in 2000. And WWF had built huge momentum in the prior 2 years, plus they had several hot acts at the time including a white hot tag team division featuring a three-way rivalry between the Hardy Boyz, the Dudley Boys, and Edge & Christian. Not to mention the rising star of Kurt Angle, Foley being as over as he's ever been, Triple H's ascension to top heel, Chris Jericho being a workhorse both in the ring and hilarious on the mic. And of course, Austin kept appearing on/off in 2000. He just couldn't wrestle. He wasn't forgotten. All of this factored into the dominance of WWF in 2000. I'm not suggesting Rock wasn't a key component in 2000, mind you. But Rock was never as crucial to the success of WWF as Austin. It was the Austin/McMahon storyline that ultimately saved the WWF. Austin was too great of a talent to not be a star. But at the same time Hogan would have kept him down like he did everyone.
I don't think so. Let's be honest. The reason he succeeded in WWF is that they gave him the character of a dead man who doesn't feel pain and doesn't fear his opponents, but they fear him in return. Also with great theme song . They made him crush most of the WWF legends in his first year. The WCW won't give him that even if they made him American Badass, he wouldn't have the freedom to use the mic like he had in WWE + the size of the WCW rings won't help him make a great match. And there won't be Shawn Michaels to make him get five stars. And they will definitely give him a theme that isn't as strong as his theme song in WWF. The Warrior's theme song in WCW was very bad, and I wouldn't be surprised if Taker's theme was the same. Even if it was good, it wouldn't be as strong as his theme in WWF.
Taker would have worked. He was well established. Could of had takers bad ass crew battle nwo. Austin wouldn't of ever been anything at WCW. He would have been mid level plot lines there.
He couldn’t have used the gimmick, and MAGA mark was all gimmick. He is absolutely NOTHING without that gimmick. Nothing. He, himself is not even a legend. It is the gimmick that is the legend.
Lets be honest, you wouldnt have American Bad ass, WCW would have booked the Return of Mean Mark and the Skyscrapers and Steve Austin would have become a Horseman at some point
Hogan jobbed the Undisputed World Heavyweight Title to the Undertaker in 2002. Why wouldn't he have done that for Taker in WCW? Hogan has jobbed the title to... The Giant Lex Luger Sting Goldberg ....and Ric Flair all in WCW. He's also jobbed CLEAN to Jacques Rougeau and Billy Kidman. The ONLY TIME Hogan really went into business totally for himself in WCW was against Sting at *_Starrcade '97._* Outside of that, he has always put people over when it was necessary to do so. So, he would have had no problems putting Taker over because that would have greatly helped WCW.
If Austin stayed in WCW, WWE could have lost the war before WCW went out of business. Also, Vince might have tried harder to keep/appease Bret Hart, and Montreal might never have happened. Crazy alternate timeline
Dominant Tall Nonbuilt Wrestlers Weigh 400 Plus Pounds And Fat Main Eventers Weigh 400-900 Pounds. That Why The Undertaker Didn’t Make It In WCW. Kevin Nash Tried To In 2000 Get The Undertaker To Come To WCW. Because The Undertaker Trying To Get Muscular. As The Undertaker Decided To Go Back To The WWE, That Musculinity Went Away. The Undertaker Was Little Muscular In WCW. After He Left WCW, That Little Muscles Disappeared. The Undertaker Loyalty To WWE Is Meaningless In Comparison. He Rightly Wouldn’t Have Been Successful In WCW Unless He Gained At Least 72 Pounds Or Got Built. If He Gained Weight Or Got Muscular And Went To WCW, The WWE Would’ve Been In Big Trouble Because They Would’ve Had 3 Top Stars Left, The Rock, HHH & Kane. The Undertaker In WCW Would’ve Been The A.B. Ass Mark Callous. WCW Would’ve Had Sting vs Mark Callous As Main Eventer, Goldberg vs Nark Callous, Hulk Hogan vs Mark Callous, Kevin Nash vs Mark Callous, Sid Vicious vs Mark Callous, Lex Luger vs Mark Callous As A Main Eventer And Mark Callous Could’ve Joined The New Blood Him & Sid-Two Former Skyscrapers. The New Blood Would’ve Had Some Star Power Before Could Have New Stars. With Vince Russo, Vampiro’s Push Should’ve Been Booker T’s Or The Demon’s And Scott Steiner Should’ve Been Pushed Over Vampiro.
LMAO 😂 To openly say that Taker stole YOUR gimmick Eric? Thats laughable. The American Badass is more like Taker in real life. Eric, you're ok in my book, but lose the ego. Taker don't need to steal anyone's gimmick. Don't flatter yourself.
Austin in the same fashion on WCW would have never happened. WCW was croquet vs football WCW was bingo night vs nickel beer night. WCW was suplex city nursing home vs Suplex City Nightclub WCW was dusty ugly, boring 70s action vs Sex drugs and rock and roll. I was 7, 8, and 9 during the Monday Night Wars so therefore my kid brain is an expert. Lol shiny flashy sexy raunchy rough vs ugly dusty decrepit. WCW also did not have Sable. Lol jk Just watch a Raw is War intro video from 1998/1999 vs a WCW nitro intro video. It will show you exactly what I am saying...for those that dont know. WWF RAW was the shit.
Undertake dies in wcw. American badass stands a better chance. But still. Stone Cold wouldn't of worked in wcw. He's just another Alex Wright level. Could.maybe see him being a horseman. If Austin Stays, DX probably blows up. Hopefully Owen becomes the new Bret. Not sure who takes the Austin spot.
Sorry Conrad and Easy E “The American Bad Ass” gimmick was freaking lame. I think the reason it was able to get over in WWE is because everyone was hoping and praying for the day the Deadman Returned. PS Conrad do you stay up late at night thinking about and dreaming up magic moments you would have liked to see in the past like Steve Austin drinking Steveweisers and giving the entire NWO Stone Cold Stunners. One last question how many wrestling action figures do you have and which one is your favorite one?
Absolutely he would have. He and Austin would have gone back if WCW never went out of business. Time Warner had a large pocket book and money talks. And we will never know WCW could of been the place to be in maybe 2003-2005 if it was never sold
Even as edgy wcw was, it was still southern based! Those guys in turner would have completely stopped all that.....which is why wcw probably ended! Its weird how eric got the nwo over, yet they in turner fought against it so much. Then vinnymac was like im gonna smash these fools because of it lol
It all matters on when taker defects! Think about it, in 97' taker didn't have any idea of the American badass! Had he joined wcw in 2000, that would have killed him off completely. Bottom line, takers loyalty was never in question. And steve Austin, nope vinnymac and steve made scsa!

Austin could have gotten over in wcw if he had stayed - but when it comes to Goldberg - make no mistake - Austin was losing to Goldberg at that time
Taker would have worked.
You can say that about austin, hart, rock
Lets be honest, you wouldnt have American Bad ass, WCW would have booked the Return of Mean Mark and the Skyscrapers and Steve Austin would have become a Horseman at some point
Did he just say ( seriously?!@?!) That he copied Bishoff?!!
Bischoff invented biking in rasselin.
Would have been misbooked like Bret.
Mark Thompson
i think the undertaker was better off in wwf its better that he stayed in the wwf
Eric speaks like hogan would’ve allowed him to do all this. Lmao
Hogan jobbed the Undisputed World Heavyweight Title to the Undertaker in 2002. Why wouldn't he have done that for Taker in WCW? Hogan has jobbed the title to...
The Giant
Lex Luger
Sting
Goldberg
....and Ric Flair all in WCW.
Wcw said no one would pay for him to wrestle haha and wwe said opposite and he had to change
He would've joined nWo
that version with Jeff Jarrett? LOL
If Austin stayed in WCW, WWE could have lost the war before WCW went out of business. Also, Vince might have tried harder to keep/appease Bret Hart, and Montreal might never have happened. Crazy alternate timeline
Austin would have been completely stuck in the midcard for sure, vinnymac saved taker and austin.
Wow.
LMAO 😂
To openly say that Taker stole YOUR gimmick Eric? Thats laughable. The American Badass is more like Taker in real life.
Eric, you're ok in my book, but lose the ego. Taker don't need to steal anyone's gimmick. Don't flatter yourself.
Austin in the same fashion on WCW would have never happened.
WCW was croquet vs football
WCW was bingo night vs nickel beer night.
WCW was suplex city nursing home vs Suplex City Nightclub
WCW was dusty ugly, boring 70s action vs Sex drugs and rock and roll.
I was 7, 8, and 9 during the Monday Night Wars so therefore my kid brain is an expert. Lol shiny flashy sexy raunchy rough vs ugly dusty decrepit.
WCW also did not have Sable. Lol jk
Just watch a Raw is War intro video from 1998/1999 vs a WCW nitro intro video.
I didn't like the American Badass gimmick
Me neither I liked being able to see undertaker, and when he threw urn in the trash I was like wtf
Me too, Conraddison. I hated the fake cartoonish Undertaker gimmick. Mark was good enough to be more realistic.
Absolutely he would have. He and Austin would have gone back if WCW never went out of business. Time Warner had a large pocket book and money talks. And we will never know WCW could of been the place to be in maybe 2003-2005 if it was never sold
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
We know exactly where WCW would be now, it’d be in TNA’s position, just much more successful.
Even as edgy wcw was, it was still southern based! Those guys in turner would have completely stopped all that.....which is why wcw probably ended! Its weird how eric got the nwo over, yet they in turner fought against it so much. Then vinnymac was like im gonna smash these fools because of it lol
I think Austin staying would have kept DDP from breaking out or vice versa.
It all matters on when taker defects! Think about it, in 97' taker didn't have any idea of the American badass! Had he joined wcw in 2000, that would have killed him off completely. Bottom line, takers loyalty was never in question. And steve Austin, nope vinnymac and steve made scsa!
