- From 1983, here is The Lords Of The New Church performing (aka: lip syncing) "The Night Is Calling" off their 2nd studio album "Is Nothing Sacred" on the Nickelodeon(!) tv show Livewire followed by a short if awkward interview. To my knowledge, this song was never actually performed live by the band.
What an intriguing bass line. Dave Tregunna is special. 💛

Rest in peace Stiv, It was so unfair that he quit heroine in hopes of self preservation. Then almost as if a cruel sick joke from god. He dies from internal bleeding due to a car hitting him while crossing a fucking street.
Sounds like there's some influences from Hawkwind's 'Golden Void' in there somewhere!
wow!!! thank you for posting this. after all the punk rock years i lived through, albums come and go, but the lords are still timeless to me, music wise and lyric wise! my respects for stiv...always.

@goat probably sometime in the late 90s. My dads band the reckless played with them in Hollywood back in the 80s. My mom has tons of pics she took of stiv. I want to get them onto the net sometime soon. God damn I love this song!
