Wow. I love this band. They can't half put some heat under it. Dave Tregunna is brilliant. Hard working, professional and most under rated. Brian James is very much his own guitarist. And Stiv Bators is one of the most iconic front men of all time. 🐯
One of my big regrets is never seeing this awesome underrated band live. The slipped my radar at the time, to my eternal shame. The closest I came, about 15 years ago I once saw Brian in the Co-op at Peacehaven nr Brighton. :0
Brian James is great. His original style makes any band he's in. He still had the rude, abrasive sort of sound similar to the playing he used during The Damned, which by 1984 wasn't a favored approach anymore. The mainstream same then as now, wants safe, smooth sounds, but James didn't give a damn about that, which to me further solidifies him as one of my premiere fave guitarists of all time.
@@ScottishTeeVeeGetting home from the pub as a teenager and watching The Tube was great. You may like a video I did on Brian James The Damned era. Search my name and the damned and it should pop up.
@@CIRCLEOFTONE I guess you mean that video of yours which is in the video links at the very end of this video? 😉 It's a good video and deserves a share 😊
all through the 90s i was almost addictively collecting records, it wasnt a trendy hipster kind of collecting it was simply the fact that a lot of stuff i wanted was sort of weird and obscure and at the time had never been on CD yet and some of it still hasnt. but somehow i had met and befriended a guy that ran a record store in Los Angeles and we got to a point where when i had an urge to check a band out more deeply i wuld just call him and say "do you have such and such band" and he would say yeah and just send it to me and i would mail him a money order whenever i got to the store next time. and he sent me a VHS tape around the mid 90s one day that just had a bunch of videos of artists i liked including some "Lords Of The New Church" stuff. it also had some performances from various other bands on "The Tube". it was the first time i had ever heard of The Tube, and man i love the performances from that show and what great bands they had on.

Love these guys. They were fantastic. My band, the Accused, opened for them in Baltimore. What a memory.
I hope you got a recording of that gig ?

The most dangerous band of all time
I wouldn't say that, but one of the best (and most dangerous) certainly
@@SwampDweller67 the lyrics to open your eyes were 30 years ahead of their time.
@@davidleegoth won't argue on that, their lyrics were heavy as fuck
Is that John Tesh playing keys?
Could be, I'm not 100% sure.
I think it's Mark Taylor from The Alarm.
Who is Murder Style decicated to?
"Decicated to the NME cos they suck" I guess they got a bad review in the NME
Brian James!!!
