I went to Warwick Castle back in 1998 with my late husband and his brother and sister-in-law from Australia. We all enjoyed the whole experience, especially the statues that were really people who told you some of the history. You can ask Deb about how I know the family. Thank you for taking me with you.
There were plenty of actors there, but I didn't see any talking statues (that would have made for fun content lol)! So happy to bring you along for the adventure. I will certainly ask her :)
Your tone of narration is perfect Michelle, the excellent editing and your ability to capture and create a lovely atmosphere makes the whole video a pleasure to watch. Thank you. 🏰
I lived not to far from Warwick, my Canadian Wife worked in Warwick, I have been to the castle a few times, another castle between Warwick and Coventry is Kenilworth Castle, well worth a visit.
I'm sure I'll be back in the area again and will have to make a trip to Kenilworth Castle - the gardens there look lovely! Thank you for the suggestion.
Another great video Michelle, editing and narration exquisite. That said i must point out that the fire place in the bedroom is no fake! Most house built pre WW2 would have had fireplaces in the bedrooms. I grew up in a house that had useable fireplaces in two of the three bedrooms and i now live in one that used to, we have removed one bricked up the other. Health and safety regulations as well as clean air regulations brought about the general demise (though not complete) of live fires.I am very much looking forward to part two. Visited Warwick Castle a couple of years back and was lucky enough to see the Trebuchet in working order trowing a flaming missile. There used to be a boat house on the island, the Trebuchet burnt it down! missile went awry.
LOL classic North American thought (on my part)... sees an old fireplaces that doesn't look to be in use ''must be a fake''! Thank you for sharing your insights! We would have loved to see that Trebuchet in its glory - what a cool experience!
Went to Warwick Castle on a school outing when I was in primary school, so we're talking 40+ years ago. I've got some friends from the States visiting soon, looks like the sort of place they'd enjoy. I stayed in a pub once that had a micro brewery, there were complementary bottles of beer in the room!
Complimentary bottles of beer - what a perk! Someone else in our abroad community mentioned that they visited a number of years ago - if you do visit with your friends, let me know what's changed since your last time there!
We enjoyed our time in Coventry as well - granted, we weren't there for long so I reckon I didn't see everything it has to offer. Stay tuned for part two!
Loved the video! Your fam looks like they like to have fun. The last time I visited Warwick Castle was in 1985 while on my Fulbright teaching exchange. I had the opportunity to take a weekend short course at the University of Warwick. Although the University is actually in Coventry, it was only a short drive down to the Castle.
I too have the very natural human survival trait that Eric has. You are a cruel and heartless woman for mocking him for this useful and understandable genetic variation that has obviously kept him and his forebears alive for countless generations. I'd suggest manacles to him to hinder your mad suicidal proclivities and gleeful taunting. Alley? Surely you mean twitten. When you have an idle moment you might try and find how many regional variations you can find for just such thoroughfares. As for family crests I would question whether such a thing exists. Crests are awarded as a part of a set of arms to a particular individual. by the Earl Marshall and administered by the Kings of Arms (Garter and Clarenceux for England and Wales), records of which are held by the College of Arms in London.
😂😂😂 Ahhh yes the ever-dramatic fear of heights lives in many… something I’ve never been ailed by lol! Twitten - love it! I agree, I’m skeptical of the family crest idea in these circumstances as well, makes for a fun souvenir though! Thanks for sharing more info about that - interesting!
@@ACanadianAbroadMichelle I might just add that this is NOT, repeat NOT, a 'Man Thing' - despite what your gleeful, celebratory mockery might indicate.

Nice one, I was in Coventry earlier this year, I liked it

Sounds like a memorable experience for you as well. I wonder, how has Warwick Castle changed compared to your time there in 1985?
@@ACanadianAbroadMichelle I really can’t recall any differences from your video. But, I do know that I never noticed any kind of “renaissance fair!”
They're castellations not crenulations but you're forgiven!
We’ve found another item/thing with multiple words to describe the same thing! Thanks for adding to the discussion 😊
I think you may have a sweet tooth!
Oh this is certain 😂

It’s a completely rational fear for any person, I tease, but I agree 😊
That theme park nonsense puts me off a bit tbh....mind you, I'm British so am a bit spoilt for choice as regards castles
I noticed this element of Warwick Castle as well; enjoyed my visit quite a bit though!
