I have a soft spot for Warwick castle because as a stonemason I have worked on it many times (inc the dungeon where the infamous Oubliette is situated and the ghost tower). It truly is a place steeped in history and is best experienced when all of the tourists have gone home and the castle gives off a completely different feeling, I always found it a peaceful place….although obviously there were areas that did not give off this feeling…the dungeon was most definitely one of them. That aside, Warwick castle is a stunning example of a Medieval English castle and well worth a visit, thanks for another great video.
Hello Brad and thank you for taking the time to comment. Wow a stone mason - that’s really interesting. I am sure you would have your work cut out there along with places like Westminster Abbey where the elements and age of the building mean the upkeep is a constant thing. Yes the dungeon is quite something! So pleased you enjoyed the video and thank you for commenting 👻🙋♀️🙏
@@ghostcasebook1266 It’s a pleasure, I enjoyed the film. Over the past 30 years I’ve worked on palaces, castles, stately homes, churches and cathedrals…they all have their own stories to tell and are an integral part of of history and heritage 👍

Hello Redcoat’s Return! I hope you are really well! Thank you so much for your kind words and I am so pleased you enjoyed the video. Yes Warwick castle is a really interesting place, I agree. 🙋♀️👻
I was in that room last summer. I went up and down those stairs. The room at the very bottom was extremely damp and dark. I was with my 8 year old son who wanted to get out asap.
Never had a chance to go to England. My dad in 1958 did a TDY to England and Germany for the US Airforce.I have photos of him at Windsor Castle and Hampton Court. Both are haunted but he didn't see anything, .He also got to the Tower of London.
Hi, I just came across your channel, I went to Warwick castle a few years ago, it's one of my favourite castles to visit, especially during jousting season, and took many photos whilst I was there, I also had some really strange things happen. I went all around the castle, and when I went down into the old gaol, it felt like a very heavy atmosphere and I could smell death and rotting flesh, I took some photos and when I got home I could see mist and orbs surrounding that cage with legs hanging from the ceiling, yet when i was there in person, I couldn't see this. I also took photos of the chapel, and I could sence something but nothing to make my hair stand on end, but again, when I got home, there was 3 orbs in the photo. I also had an experience in the blue room next to the queens bedroom, when I first went in I was fine, then suddenly as I stood by one of the windows, I came out in a sweat, I had a headache, I felt sick and everything felt heavy, and a very heavy smell, sort of sage smell, and my eyes were drawn to a portrait of a woman in black above the door. I Don't know who she was, but once I left the room I was fine. Also when I did dungeons after dark, the first room we went into (where the monks were) something tugged at my jacket from behind, yet there was no one standing behind me, I even poked the wall to make sure lol
You may of had an attachment which ain't good especially if you're going from room to room etc. Always take some kind of protection. I don't think you can walk around with sage. But you could wear crystals as protection. But better still to go outside away from where you were.
Absolutely cracking video 👍. I’ve known Warwick Castle since a lad having been a pupil at Warwick School, where it was said we would be afforded sanctuary should the town ever be invaded ( which was always responded to with ‘ does that include by tourists?’ 😂. We often had history lessons there, the rowing club was on Avon outside the walls, and once went to a fantastic medieval banquet there. Never saw or felt the presence of any ghosts though😕👻
@@ghostcasebook1266 Didn't do either poor lass much good though.May they all RIPAnne fascinates me.She is,sadly,a forgotten queen.I wish I knew more about her.How she looked, what she thought, was she in love with Richard..?The medieval cartoon pics r not much to go on.Its a strange style. And Isabelle, what was she like? When we had transport we went to Warwick Castle several times. We loved it.But I bet the servants were the fittest ever, all those steps!!I would love to go again, but am betting it's impossible on public transport. If MPs had to use it,it would improve. But no chance of that.
My wife and son were visiting the castle in 1989. He was 14 at the time and at one point in tour was waiting outside a particular room and my wife asked him to come in when he did he ran through the room as quickly as he could into another room and was quite notably shaken by some unknown experience.
I always feel faint in castles. No matter which castle it is - I have to get out quickly or I will pass out. I always thought it was because nobody ever opens any windows in castles so it must be the lack of oxygen, and I kept wondering why nobody else is ever affected like me. But now that you mention people feeling faint when there are spirits around - it's more likely that's what it is. Last time this happened was at Highclere Castle in 2010. I haven't been to any castles since then because it's inevitable that I will feel faint. I better give Warwick Castle a miss then... Excellent video, great to find out about Warwick Castle's spirits without having to go there and pass out.
Hi Little Kitty, thank you for sharing your experience. I think sometimes the sheer size and scale of a castle can be overwhelming and can take its toll on a person. At Warwick, the towers are extremely high and the number of steps you have to climb are significant! Also if you’re outside looking at the grounds then go inside to the state rooms, you can go from very cold to very hot! But who knows, if spirits can affect you perhaps that’s what causes you to feel faint. Thank you again 🙋♀️👻
There are competing theories about hauntings and places of paranormal phenomena. In simplest terms, we can argue that the spirits of unhappy humans who have died here have been unable to free themselves from attachment to earthly things and places and thus remain in ghostly form. The other argument is that unhappy humans who were betrayed, tortured, confined, murdered and otherwise abused have projected emotional energy of such intensity into the environment that the very stones and walls have been permanently imprinted with negativity, and that visitors who are even slightly empathic can pick up/feel such vibrations. Either way, it explains the reactions of visitors and other persons associated with a site like Warwick. We should avoid dismissing such claims out of hand. Something IS happening here.
I visited Warwick Castle in 1981 as sn adult, and I became nauseous and terrified when just about to enter the dungeon as the guide began describing the oubliette. I ran outdoors and beganshaking uncontrollaby. It was a hot, sunny day, and I had to sit outdoors to calm down.
Thank you for the happy memories! in 1973, I was a groundsman for the summer. I was supposed to get to work at 8 o'clock, but invariably arrived before 7, even before the main gate opened (I knew a little way in!) The first thing I did (unpaid) was to take Lord Brooke's black labrador dog for a run as far as the hunting lodge and back, stopping at the conservatory for coffee, cake, and a bowl of water for Leo. I'd assumed his name was Leofric (from Coventry fame) but now I realise it was more likely Leopold,. Once he was kennelled, I'd then climb Guy's Tower - Caesar's had not been restored then- and sweep every step before the visitors arrived. Fun days of 50 years ago,
Lou Lou thank you so much! This really means a lot to me and I am so pleased that you enjoyed the video. I only started in the autumn so it is still early days but I think we are moving in a positive direction. Thank you for taking the time to leave such a kind comment 🙋♀️👻
I love Warwick Castle its stunning and have been many times. We did an escape room in the dungeon one Halloween it was fun and the kids enjoyed it but we didn't experience anything spooky and we manged to escape. Warwick at Halloween is great with all the scare mazes and things. They told all these stories during a Halloween ghost tour. I enjoyed listening to them again.
These posts are always fascinating. I thank you for bringing these stories to life, with your calm, clear voice. There are many more ghost/hauntings to be discovered throughout the British Isles. One comes to mind is the sealed room at Glamis Castle. I hope I haven't missed this one from a previous post. Keep safe and continue your astonishing journey of history. It seems you have found your calling, judging by your followers comments.
You're very welcome Annette and goodness me, I am really moved by your kind words. I thank you once again for such a wonderful comment. Best wishes and thank you again, Nicola 👻🙋♀️
New subscriber!! Always love a good ghost tale told well. I think the usual thing among the aristocracy was the wife was required to deliver the heir of her husband and after that both husband and wife could carry on as many affairs as they liked as long as they were discreet. Must have been some kind of life (and why so many of the so called “upper classes” contracted syphilis, and other horrific venereal diseases). Anyhoo, can’t wait for the next ghost story!
Hello Me Me! I am so pleased you enjoyed the video and have subscribed. This means a great deal to me. I agree, having affairs was perhaps just an acceptable part of life and the idea of producing an heir was the prime goal! So pleased you like the videos and stay tuned for more content 👻🙋♀️
I'm Australian and in 1988 I did a tour of Great Britain and spent a short time in Cardiff. My father came from a small part of Wales called Kenfig Hill and I had hoped to take a taxi there to see the street where he was born. He came to Australia at 6 months of age in 1922. Anyway, I didn't have time to do it and really wanted to visit this Castle while there. Unfortunately it was closed to visitors on that day 10th July 1988. My trip book doesn't say why I couldn't get in and I have forgotten the reason, but I did take photos from outside of course. What a pity. Thankyou for the upload - nice to finally see a bit more. Sad we don't have castles all around the world - they are intriguing.
Hi Dee Thank you for commenting! 👻🙋♀️ Warwick Castle is not located in Cardiff although Cardiff Castle (if that’s the castle you mean because Wales has many castles) is an impressive building and shares some beautiful features. I will be covering some Welsh locations 🙏
@@ghostcasebook1266 Thanks for the clarification. Yes I meant the Cardiff Castle - that is what I was thinking of. Dumb me. Looked again at my trip book because Warwick Castle sounded familiar and yes did go there - on the 14th July - a day I went to Richmond, Warwick, Coventry and Birmingham. We had 2 unscheduled stops. One in Richmond to show off a beautiful castle, and then Warwick Castle. I said I could easily spend more time there. Also Madame Tussaurd's Exhibition as well as the dungeon. Presuming it is in the dungeon. Will look up my photo album on it tomorrow. It's late in Australia right now.
I visited the castle as a child and recently revisited with my 9 year old- it’s a fantastic place to visit, you will not be disappointed. I wish I watched this before going back though. Great work 👍🏻
Thanks for this vid especially the gaol to which I have recorded spirit lights on my phone about 5 years back. From my knowledge I knew one of the Earl's of Warwick put French prisoners down there and he was known to the French as The Devil Warwick. So I used this knowledge when asking them to come forward and pretended to be a magistrate and come forward and pleed their cases. Yes the lights I caught are impressive. Thanks.
Hello Flipper F and thank you so much for taking the time to comment and share your experience. I think the dungeon / gaol was notorious in Europe as a formidable place where you don’t want to find yourself incarcerated! Your photos sound very interesting! thank you again, Nicola 👻🙋♀️
Second video of yours I’ve seen and again, a greatly put together effort! I love visiting Warwick castle. My niece when younger had asked my brother who the man in the hole (in the dungeon) was. Obviously there wasn’t.. if she mistook something or genuinely saw something, who knows. I’ve always felt great there.. but I’m always in a great mood walking around the place!
Thank you so much Jonathan. Wow that’s a bit creepy about your niece in the dungeon. There are waxworks in the castle but I don’t think there’s any usually in the dungeon so I wonder if she did see something. Warwick is a very atmospheric castle 👻🙋♀️
Hi Jonathan. Children are very susceptible to things from the other side. Their heads aren't filled with the rubbish us adults have to deal with, so they're more open to the paranormal.
I visited the castle in 1990 and while standing on the steps of the dungeon I felt discomfort bordering on pain in my knees. This was a very informative video, thank you for posting it.
Hi, how are you? I'm doing well and so is my cat Benjamin. Awesome live ghosts stories I enjoyed it can't wait to see more soon have a great day see you next video greetings from Canada 😀

Hello ghost case book This episode was really captivating. So I should let you know that you are officially on my bucket list. I want to come to England, meet you and take you for coffee and say thank you in person for your outstanding channel & the hard work you put into it. My bucket list is to visit London & learn about the dark history, then off to Ireland & Scotland. I have never ever traveled to another country. Thank you so much for this really interesting episode Love your work
Wow, thank you! I’d love you to come over too and we could go on a ghost tour somewhere! I think you could spend many weeks here travelling around to see all of the various haunted locations! Goodness me, Simon. That's such a kind thing to say. I am so pleased you enjoy the videos so much and encouraging comments are really appreciated. With best wishes, Nicola 🙋♀️🙂
when i went there i was walking down some of the stairs (in the watergate tower) and there was just such a cold breeze that you could feel like something was there

I’m obsessed with Medieval England. Obsessed by the Wars of the Roses. The perseverance of Margaret Beaufort. Such tenacity giving birth to Henry VIII at 13. I love your videos for the content & the narration. You have a calm voice & your subject matter is fantastic. It’s not the story, it’s the telling. Brava!!!!
Great ghost stories love it , went to Warwick castle few years ago, but couldn’t get in , because of fairgrounds etc were there, but very interesting thankyou
Glad you enjoyed the video Sue. Yes it is a super busy place and they do so many events that it’s a bit of a lottery on the day to be honest. I’m so pleased you found the stories interesting though 👻🙋♀️
Never had any sort of feeling, sighting or experience of anything on my many visits to Warwick Castle. But Kenilworth? I don't think I could work there again. I loved it... but it was creepy, many times. Everyone that worked with me would agree.
Hello Walkingdad 69! I hope you are really well. I love the idea of you sitting down with a strong brew and enjoying the video! I hope biscuits or cake are also involved! Thank you so much for taking a moment to comment. I really appreciate it 👻🙋♀️
When I visited Warwick Castle I could not get past the doorway to the dungeon. I was repelled by a fearful miasma that just flowed up from the depths. Definitely haunted.
I used to work at Warwick Castle in the late 90s I was only a 18 year old. The thought and the consensus was sir Fulke Greville was gay and was having a long term affair with his man servant/lover. Also what's very odd, in st Mary's his tomb and coffin is facing the wrong way. Weird! I would say, his ghost may or may not be there BUT something is. To lock that tower up was horrendous, the heavy doors and in the pitch black. Shiver ..
Several of my ancestors were born or died at Warwick Castle or involved in defending it. One of them was a young knight in the 15th century -- nineteen years old who'd just become a father. He is reported to have died storming the castle just two months after his son was born. You look at these disintegrating walls and wonder what so many gave their lives for. Why?
Hello Leslie, it is a big place and can be super busy! I always get freaked out by the waxworks, even though I know exactly where they are. The state rooms are beautiful but I remember looking down into that oubliette and feeling really quite ill. The idea of just being forgotten about really hit me!
I hated the waxworks there! They also freak me out and I didn’t know to expect them there. And I think they cheapen the ambience by making it feel too Disney-fied touristy. But otherwise, a fun place to explore. :)
I’m not sure what it is about waxworks in any location, but they really make me so jumpy! I know they are meant to enhance an exhibition but I just want to get out of there as soon as possible. I think Warwick Castle can really divide people on that front. I saw some reviews on trip advisor where people felt it was all about add ons and extras that you have to purchase on top of the entrance fee. Some love it but it’s not for everyone!
@@ghostcasebook1266 Same about wax figures anywhere. I can usually manage better, but I have actually run out of a room over one before. :) I can see both sides of the divide over Warwick Castle. I’d prefer it without the bells and whistles, so it was one of my least favorite castles to visit, even though I did still enjoy it. But if I had kids along with me, it would absolutely be the one I’d take them to. I wish I knew the ghost stories while there though!
It's likely that Teddy (Edward VII) and Daisy done the 'dance'😏. However the Earl, probably aware of this, regarded it as an honour and confirmation of his choice of bride!!! That's aristocracy for ya! As Mel Brooks said: "It's good to be King".🤭 Another great episode tho, thank you.👍
Hello, yes I think affairs were pretty well accepted to be honest and it wasn’t something to divorce over! I might be wrong but I think only one of Daisy’s children was fathered by her husband! 👻🙋♀️
Thanks and welcome Roy! I am so pleased you like the style of the videos and thank you so much for subscribing. Stay tuned for more ghostly tales 👻🙋♀️
Well... Another Excellent read. Just to let you know I am a Yank from Florida. And No I was not educated there thank God. I have read about Maude... Did I spell correctly?? And the black dog. Also, the writings from everyone's favorite Crowley. Just kidding. Can't believe he was part of intelligence with Ian Fleming in WWII. Nice job as usual. Definitely won't see any less. You are Wonderful.
Hello Ernest, I hope you’re very well. Moll Bloxham was the black dog phantom. Yes, Crowley, well I must be honest I don’t know a great deal about him but even the photos of him freak me out a bit! I am so pleased you enjoy the videos over in beautiful Florida 👻🙋♀️🙂
Hubby and I visited Warwick Castle in 2013 an we went into the dungeon. R. immediately said it felt bad down there and he had to get out, but I didn't feel anything unusual down there, though a more foreboding place would be hard to find.
Well this should make my next trip there more interesting. Usually go with my little one who doesn't really understand the historical significance of the castle, she loves it because of Zog, but I'll certainly be paying more attention. I'll have to check out the dungeon this time, too.
I’m sure you will have a brilliant time. Make sure you go into the Gaol as they have a ticketed dungeon interactive thing and that’s not the same. I think if you ask to see the oubliette they’ll make sure you are in the right area! 👻🙋♀️
@ghostcasebook1266 I'll be sure to do that. Great work, by the way, I stumbled across your channel by chance and slowly working through your videos now. Really enjoyed what I've seen.
Oh thank you so much that’s really kind. There’s a video coming out in about half and hour. I like Warwick Castle but the wax works freak me out completely! 😬
I love warwick castle. My family would sometimes stop of for a break when driving to london to see my grandparents. It was better before they ruined the ghost tower.
Being a doctor in England back then was wild. Hmm a stab wound? Here let me shove some pig intestines in there. Hmm. Need some fat too to really pack it in there. Like sir, we are NOT repairing a wall!
I went to Warwick Castle with my sister, brother, niece and nephew last year and thoroughly enjoyed it but those mannequins really creeped me out. Also upon leaving my wheelchair kept randomly turning off until I got through the portcullis
Thanks for sharing and I am with you on those waxwork figures. They always creep me out. I find them really scary and they make me on edge! Interesting what you mentioned about your wheelchair behaving randomly. I wonder what was happening there? Very strange and a bit spooky 👻🙋♀️🙏
@@ghostcasebook1266 I have been having issues with the chair for some time (it's 5+ years old now) so at the time, I put it down to that. But looking back on it..... it is strange that it was fine all day and then acting weird going through the exit portcullis and then 100% perfectly OK when through the exit. Anyway, I only just found you the other day through your video on Brighton. Thanks. Some awesome content. May I suggest a destination? Cornwall is known to be super spooky. One of my favourite holiday destinations ever but there are parts that are weird.
I visited Warwick castle after my mum died in the mid 70s,i would of been 7yrs old.Place definitely has a presence, but i think all castles have with the politics, relgion, murders, sex crimes, wars, fear, pain, death what went on through every era down the centuries.
Thank you for this and sorry too hear you lost your mum so young. I like Warwick castle a lot but the wax works there scare the living daylights out of me! They creep me out completely! 🙋♀️👻🙏😳
@ghostcasebook1266 yeah I agree I certainly pick up on certain locations that I cannot enter,I simply cannot enter. My legs won't move and that's a sign for me not to go further than I have.Maybe picking up on the depressive, fear etc from past spirits I don't know.Thats the beauty of the paranormal, there's a million layers to still peel away and to try to understand. As a wee side note,I do feel as though the future of future proof of the paranormal lays in quantum physics, how two things can be in two places simultaneously. For sure,I feel we will understand more of the paranormal through quantum physics, energies we have no idea about just yet.Peace.
I have personally witnessed the ‘apparition’ of Fulke Greville myself on my first visit, it was in the tower at the top, it was more of a black crackling mass moving from the doorway across the room, i researched it afterwards and found the story about his ghost there, i’m a sceptic btw and had no prior knowledge of the so called ghost
I've been to Warwick Castle 3 times in the past 30years. And it never disappoints. It is so stunning inside and out. The Great Hall with the armoury and tapestry takes your breath away. The waxworks I find creepy thinking anytime they're going to move 😳 And the falconry is beautiful to see. I must go again. I'm proud to be born in Warwickshire 🏰👍
I wondered why I was obsessed with warrick castle now I know. I am a direct descendant of Alistair Crowley I am a Crowley myself, and I know all about his let’s just say questionable behaviour. I have what I call the Crowley curse it’s a lot of let’s just say bad luck lol. Alistair conducted spiritual activities at Tradegar house in south Wales. When visiting Warrick Castle with my daughter I was taking pictures of the tower, I still have the photo. It looks as if there’s a monk in a cloak or someone in a cloak, it could’ve been a guard for all I know, I say monk because we associate a hooded cloak with a monk. He was stood on the top of the tower looking out towards the town of warrick, no features just a black silhouette.
I live in Newport, South Wales. I was a house host in Tredegar House for a short time. I see it a lot as I now also work just across the road. Sometimes if there's an event going on elsewhere in the house, they open the underground wine cellar which is supposedly where Alistair Crowley and Lord Evan, the last Lord of Tredegar, would conduct rituals and seances. I've not been down there myself. Evan was an interesting character. He was into the Occult while also being an ambassador to the Pope... We used to say he liked to have his fingers in both pies, just in case!
I always wanted to stay overnight in the dungeon and bring along rem pods etc and film the entire night. But I don't think they'd let me do that ? To noisy during the day 🤔
Have you considered doing ghosts of people who have been killed in crashes?...i cant remember the airline off hand but the airline suffered a plane crash where all onboard were killed...after the investigation the airline reused parts of the plane that were salvagable on their other aircraft and soon after the ghosts of the pilots were seen by many of the companies other staff on the other aircraft that had the parts from the crash installed....it only stopped when the airline decided to stop using those parts.
Hi Jaws and Osaka Rose, I do plan to cover some haunted roads and airfields, places with a WW1 and WW2 connection in the future, but I didn’t know about the particular site you mentioned here. Would be interesting to find out more though!
Another reason that some are reluctant to visit the dungeons may be that one has to pay a further admission fee, as well as the very high ticket cost for entry into the castle AND the car park charges!! Extortionate!!
Hello Stephen, it’s not a cheap day out! Not planning to go glamping there any time soon ha ha! The interactive experience is in a slightly different location to the oubliette area of castle but I hear you 👻🙋♀️
I know. Some accounts say it ended up with maggots in the wound. The irony is that he paid the doctors considerable amounts of money for such ‘care’ 🤢👻

Also when I did dungeons after dark, the first room we went into (where the monks were) something tugged at my jacket from behind, yet there was no one standing behind me, I even poked the wall to make sure lol
That cage has been known to sway back and forth and nobody can reach it for that to happen ? There is definitely an unpleasant atmosphere around.
I love thinking about Anne Neville, the wife of Richard III growing up here and walking around the walls as a child.
Yes indeed! She was from a very powerful family. 👻
That’s very interesting. I wonder what it was? 👻🙋♀️
You do a wonderful job with these videos. These Victorians and Edwardians had no idea what they were messing with in their invitations to the spirits.
I was stationed in England in 91' I took a pic in the chapel there and a very large orb showed up in the photo.
The stories are spooky and poignant at the same time. Looking forward to the next video 👻
Thank you so much Michele! I am glad you enjoyed it and stay tuned for more 🙏👻🙋♀️

Fun days of 50 years ago,
I love this! Thank you for sharing your experience from years ago. Happy times!

The only time I visited Warwick Castle a peacock kept chasing my brother. No-one else just my brother.

Thanks.

I am sure that whatever haunts the castle began centuries ago. Intriguing that so many people just walking through have all encountered something.

When I visited Warwick Castle I could not get past the doorway to the dungeon. I was repelled by a fearful miasma that just flowed up from the depths. Definitely haunted.
Will need to visit Warwick Castle sounds interesting.
Shiver ..
Great videos.
Glad you think so! Thank you so much.👻🙋♀️
Is this Warwick Castle 🏰 the castle if The Kingmaker? If so, are there any ghost stories about him and his family?
It certainly is.
Why?
Very interesting. I'd love to visit there.

"It's good to be King".🤭

Well this should make my next trip there more interesting. Usually go with my little one who doesn't really understand the historical significance of the castle, she loves it because of Zog, but I'll certainly be paying more attention. I'll have to check out the dungeon this time, too.
