I've never been in a haunted pub -- but a haunted house, oh yes. It's a very old place [maybe 16th century?] on Crown Street in Moreton-in-Marsh, the Cotswolds. A small, narrow townhouse where we stayed after an international flight, all of us jet-lagged. In the night I checked on my teenaged girls in the next bedroom, up half a short flight of stairs. A heavy-set man in grey period clothes, baggy trousers and with wild hair was lying flat-out on my older child, who was strugging to get her breath, but still asleep. My younger daughter was awake and staring at the man in horror. When I headed toward the bed to grab him, he seemed to melt before my eyes and my elder daughter sat up gasping, grasping at her throat, saying she felt suffocated. Her sister yelled out, "Mum! What was that?" The next day we insisted on moving to a better accomodation, one without molesting spirits.

In the late 1990's, I helped refit the Marks and Spencer store on Queen Street, Cardiff. So as not to affect business, all alterations had to be carried out at night. As part of the same job, the old Littlewoods store just a few doors down was being completely refurbished to become a Marks And Spencer ladies shop. Consequently most of our construction supplies were kept in the basement of the semi gutted Littlewoods. Me and many of my colleagues hated going down into the basement. Everyone including myself felt a horrible negative atmosphere and an uncomfortable feeling of being watched.
One clear and still night a group of us were on the ground floor gathering materials, when doors started banging open and shut on the floor above us. With such force that we could clearly hear them downstairs. We knew no one else was in the building and no windows were open. Beside which there was little to no wind blowing that night. This went on for a little while and we soon quickly finished and got out of there. I was glad when that job finished. The shop later became a branch of Next. And I often wonder if the shopfitters on that job experienced anything.

Wowsers! I know M and S on Queen street and Littlewoods used to have an entrance around the back where you could buy sandwiches. That’s so creepy! I can well imagine that. Littlewoods is gone now, I think, and so much of Cardiff changed in the last 15 or so years with John Lewis etc. My gran used to work in Woolworths, I worked as a Saturday girl in Debenhams and also Dillons the book shop. 👻🙋‍♀️

Greetings from Victoria, BC, Canada. I have stayed at the Empress Hotel and it is haunted. Many places in Victoria have ghost stories. The building where I have my hair done is haunted. It was built in the late 1800's. My stylist has seen the ghost. He is dressed in a lawyer type suit from the 1800's. The area behind the building was where people sentenced to death by hanging met their end. When I first started to go there, I felt uncomfortable in the entrance hall. When I mentioned that to my stylist she said that is where the ghost spends a lot of his time.
Your videos and stories are very interesting to see and hear. Thanks 🙂

When I was a little girl, back in the sixties, my best friends parents managed The Lansdowne Hotel in Calne Wiltshire, it was haunted by a dwarf who was killed by a jealous husband, he was part of a visiting circus lodging at the hotel which has a large square at the back with stables and servants quarters, my friend and I when we were very small and largely unsupervised [it was the sixties] used to creep along the corridors at night, one night we saw someone hiding under a table in the guests lounge, it was very scary and we ran back to bed, no idea if it was the ghost or some weirdo, but I remember a very scary face on whatever it was! Thanks also for sharing the postcards at the end, I wondered too if AW may have been a casualty of the Great War 😢

So glad you enjoyed the video! I agree, whenever I see post cards from the early 1900s I always think how the world would change so drastically and in such a devastating way so imminently. It was a very different time back then, I suppose. If you so go to Wales, you will have to try Welsh cakes! They are the best. There are a stout little cake with sultanas in and they are cooked on an iron bake stone. My gran used to make the most amazing welsh cakes, she never had a recipe and I used to help her make them. Her Bakstone was made by her dad (I think) in the ironworks near the village. My husband buys them in Asda in Cardiff and whilst they are not as good as homemade one they are still excellent! The welsh word for cake is ‘Teisen’ like Tay or tie and then sun or San depending on your region. 👻🙋‍♀️

Hi Nicola, thank you from Cardiff for another video. I have an experience myself of Llancaiach Fawr which I hope you might be able to shed some light on. The house itself had a lovely atmosphere, but there is a sort of entrance way museum (it had a cat whicb told the houses story in a funny voice). Both times I was there I had a horrible sensation of a deep cut half way up my neck, it faded in the house itself but it was very unpleasant in the grounds. I tried researching it since but other than one paranormal website referring to a 'grisly murder in the grounds'. I've never unravelled this.

One of my family lines lived in southern Wales for many years, although no actual Welsh blood. One day I hope to be able to visit the area. My grandfather was born in Shropshire and his family lived on the eastern border of Wales for centuries. Much Welsh DNA from that line for my mother and myself! I would love to hear of any ghostly tales from that area.
Wonderful video - I enjoyed it very much! The pictures are a wonderful complement to the stories you tell. It is strange to me when buildings are taken from one country to another. We (U.S.) also have a church that was once in London. It was bombed by the Luftwaffe during WW2 and then during the 60s it was disassembled and rebuilt in Missouri. It's called Mary the Virgin, Aldermanbury. The University that the church is now a part of also has links to Churchill. It's fairly close to me but sadly I haven't been lucky enough to visit it. I did get to sleep on the British icon, the Queen Mary. I spent hours walking the ship and getting to know the layout as much as possible, I even went to a few locations that are closed to the public. It's a creepy ship and every location feels like you are not alone. Our first night I was just starting to fall asleep when something grabbed my left leg and pulled it, I actually felt like I was being pulled out of bed. Our cabin had just enough light in it so I could see. There was no one there but me and my wife. There is a bathroom just off of what's called Piccadilly on the ship. My wife went to use it when all of the sinks turned on at once. The restroom used to be a reading and writing room before the ship was turned into a hotel. I've been to many haunted locations, but none of them beat the Gray Ghost. Once again thanks for another amazing video and I'm really enjoying the post cards at the end.

I am completely fascinated by your experience on the Queen Mary. Thank you ever so much for sharing! Yes, the idea of buildings being sent to the USA is interesting. I know the singer Tom Jones who is from the South Wales Valleys has a red phone box next to his swimming pool in Beverly Hills. I believe it was a phone box due to be scrapped but it was the phone his dad rang his mum on when she went into labour or something like that. The Queen Mary is absolutely fascinating for sure! 👍

Another great vid. This one I found fascinating as I've yet to ever visit Wales (I know) I would love to stay at some of these places, I'm not sure how I'd react to blatant 'activity' however. I'm hopeful that I would stay strong and not run away because deep down I don't believe there is anything to be frightened of. Mind you, reading what @letitroll1972 had to write below, maybe that would be easier said than done. The portraits and art in this video are also quite beautiful. Again, you can almost feel what these people were like without ever meeting them. Some of these places also look incredible. I must make more of an effort soon to visit. All the stories are filled with questions but the dog? I don't know 🙂Well done anyway again. Work harder will you! I want two of these per day while I recover from illness ok haha!! Best wishes, Glenn X

You are very welcome as ever Glen. I know, stating on a haunted location might give you a sleepless night for sure! Wales is lovely and if you do get to visit there are so many historic locations. Castles galore, stately homes, just all sorts. I’m biased but Cardiff is vibrant and Cardiff Castle is really something! Thank you as ever my friend 😊

Another nice video. I've worked with several people in my last job who experienced phenomena. However, the owner of the business didn't want it to get a ghostley repuation, so none of the phenomena should be promoted. I will say no more regarding this, but I understand why businesses do not get into the ghost tourism industry.

New South Wales is stoically keeping up with Wales, in relation to hauntings. Monte Cristo Homestead, Junee NSW is home to ten ghosts. Great read.

I work in Conwy so am able to visit Aberconwy house frequently. In 2019, I saw a young woman standing at the top of the stairs on the upper floor who vanished as I looked at her. Couple of weeks ago, a smell of tobacco on the same floor but no sign of Mr Jones. Visited Powis castle a couple of years back, while sitting in the cafe, had someone brush their hand over my arm"

I have stayed in a hotel that was haunted. There's an old town in Arizona called Bisbee. It's famous for it's copper mines and an old grand dame hotel called the Copper Queen. John Wayne filmed many of his movies there and stayed many nights in the first room at the top of the stairs. He was married at the time to a woman named Pilar who was very jealous. One night she went upstairs uunannounced and found him in bed with the leading actress in his current film. I didn't know any of this at the time - my husband and I were married there in 2016 and the room we stayed in was John Wayne's favorite room. We checked in to the room and as I flipped the light switch on, it flipped off. I flipped it back on and the tv in the room went on and then with a bang, it died. We had to call down to the office and have it replaced. We married in front of the third floor fireplace at sundown and after dinner and drinks went back to the room. At 2 am we started hearing a hushed argument. It progressed to a full fight between a man and woman in the upstairs lobby. There was shouting and breaking of glass by the fireplace. We put up with it for 20 minutes and then looked. Nothing. It started up again. Shouting and swearing in English and Spanish (he was bilingual, she was Peruvian) and again things breaking. We opened the door again to silence. We finally went down to see the manager. The desk clerk looked annoyed and woke him. He showed us the guest register. We were the only guests in that area. We explained the fighting we'd heard and with a stunned look, he told us that John Wayne had been there with Pilar in a working honeymoon. She had caught him within days cheating on her. In that room.

lived near Conwy so loved this one as I've been to aberconwy house a few times never had a spooky experience there, Plas Mawr on the other hand I have in the turret room was freezing in there on a hot summers day about 10 degrees diffrence so went to go down to the floor below but felt like some one was trying to get past me and felt pressure on my back, no hands just pressure (I was on my own as the other people went down before me) I was quite unnerved ! 😨 the pier story was quite sad but yes nicer to pass in a nice place rather than a work house. I lived in colwyn bay which had a pier until recently which was haunted by the projectionist I think as it had a cinema on it at one time (my great aunty used to work as a cleaner there .I think it had had about 3 fires there since it was first built unfortunately the council let it go to rack and ruin (as with many other older buildings in the bay) and they said it was now dangerous and demolished it so now there's only a jetty that they built there instead which is sad :(
