Tesla tends to prioritize proximity to freeways. Sometimes, they're just looking to service a particular area, but that's an exception to the rule in my experience. Bathroom, restaurant, and shopping access is preferable, but I'll take charging wherever I can get it.

Nothing to worry about. The chargers are too fast these days to go off and eat. 15-20 minutes and your done! They also have to be in a place where they can get a permit at a reasonable price and proximity to freeways. Merry Christmas from LA!
@RayNLA Merry Christmas 🙂 But even if the charging speeds are faster, you still want somewhere to use the bathroom or grab a snack or something. I think most new EV owners or those that are considering switching to EV's are wanting these charging stations to emulate what you could do at a traditional gas/petrol station.
Great video and perfect timing! I just did a 3,000 mile road trip with my 2019 model 3 every supercharger worked overall great experience. Coming from a Nissan Leaf there is no comparison! Many charging locations had bags and bins for dog waste but many had no access to a human bathroom! If they can get superchargers at every rest stop would be a major improvement and reduce travel time.
Wow, that's ironic, well, kinda, because when I was in the process of transitioning from I.C.E. to Electric I was considering a LEAF... But ironically again, I'm also on a road trip but the stops (Tesla Superchargers) that get me are the ones in a hotel parking lot with nothing around...lol Thanks for sharing! Im planning on moving back to the Bhm 280 area in the next year or two. I love the Southeast. I usually stay at that Drury off 280 on Grandview when I come home. I was born and raised in Bessemer, and worked at US Steel in the late 70’s there in Fairfield, before I moved to Houston. I’m hoping they build a service center in Bhm.
@lloydgray829 ok, I'm very familiar with the Grandview area and Bessemer aka Bessma...lol But that last location I highlighted was Highway 280, so I'm not sure about a Service Center in Bham, but you'll definitely have a Supercharger near by on Highway 280. But again, I think the service center in Huntsville (1 hour away) might be coming to fruition.
I've driven along I-65 from Indianapolis to Pensacola many times over the past 3-4 years...I've always hated the Birmingham charger locations... for years they were too far off the I'65 interstate. On location was downtown (miles from an I65 exit) in a paid parking lot, in an area that always seemed to be surrounded by construction and detours. The closer a charger is to an exit the better. I can always stop at a different exit for amenities. Glad to see things are changing in Birmingham
@TheCpuken Exactly!!! I've actually got a video coming soon about that "Pay to Park" Supercharger location. I was going to add the content in this video but decided to keep it separate. I hate it when they put them in inconvenient places. I charged at a place surrounded by buildings with “no public restroom” signs on the windows. Annoying. And my absolute favorite, I actually had to pay to get inside a parking garage to access them. I was thrilled about that one.

@snow-uq4gx I'm not saying that's what they are doing or focusing on in this area, but I'm saying if they wanted to tackle the Robotaxi thing, they'll probably find some way to try and do it (loopholes, etc). Not saying it would be successful but just saying...lol
I know in Mississippi they were trying to keep Tesla out in the beginning because they didn’t consider Tesla a dealership. The Governor was involved keeping them out. As you know those dealerships contribute to the politicians campaign. I’m from Bhm and have a Model S but live in Houston. The last time I checked there were only 2 charging stations in Bhm. Good to know they have 7 now. I think one was near Richard Arrington Blvd. Anyway I was hoping they would open a service center. Where do you take your Tesla for service?
Ok cool, we're in Houston alot, my sis stays out that way (dont ask me where). You're talking about the Uptown "pay to park" location.
