You got the Tesla squeak! Tesla doesn't use marine grade grease for the ball joints, so I injected some into all of the ball joint boots on my 2019 model 3.
@@ItsMackVern You can get the grease at autozone but amazon has everything, grease gun, marine grade axle grease and grease zerk needle. Once I injected the grease the squeak went away that was 10k miles ago still no squeak!
@engineerjay420 I'm going to definitely try.this. Thank you for sharing this! If possible, could you do me a favor and like & subscribe (if you haven't).😃

I had similar issues and after a lot of frustration finally figured out that the 2 pins on the brake pads need to have grease applied to them. After applying the grease on on my noisy brake it actually got worse until a day later when the issue went away. Now I grease them every 2 years without even taking off the wheel.
@sjp714 I'm going to try that! But how do you get to the brakes without taking the wheel off! 👀 And thanks for sharing. If you haven't already like and subscribe, I've got some other content coming up that I might need some advice on. 🤔😂
@@ItsMackVern If you can see the pins through your wheels, you can use silicon spray because the can usually come with a nice tube meant for tight spots. Also, because of regen braking, your disk rotors can build up rust on them and make scraping noise. If that happens, just accelerate fast (not an issue in a Tesla!) and press the brakes hard to scrape off the rust. Do this once a month or so.
@@ItsMackVern You can turn the wheel and have access to the pins on the top of the caliper or if you have space in your rims you can use a long screw driver or other tool to dab the pins which are visible on the top of the brake caliper.
I've had those same clunks on different cars I've owned and it's probably a suspension issue most mechanics could work on. I hope you find a reasonable repair!
Yes, I hope so. It was frustrating when the service center said it was hard for them to diagnose...lol Thanks for sharing. If you haven't already like & subscribe 😃
If you research Tesla reliability and/maintenance costs, the control arms seem to be one of the most common problems. Seems very suspicious that it would be that difficult to diagnose.
@joshuareed8218 Ageed! Especially when they told me that it could be the upper or lower control arms prior!!! Remember in the video, right before I went to grab something to eat, I said they told me this when I first pulled the car into the bay. But now they have no clue what's going on and need more time & money to find out!🤨 Thanks for sharing! If you haven't already, like and subscribe to the channel.😃
It's not fair that they charge so much just to leave you in limbo That is why I stay away from them since that they're like the only one that can open their Pandora box
For that year Tesla, your first question should be is the Level 5 at the shop that day! Then that puts them on notice you’re not BS’ing He will have the most experience with that model.
@hdhd7402 😮 I didn't know they had different levels of techs at the service centers. Obviously, the guy who was diagnosing my vehicle was a level 1 or below.😄 Thanks for sharing that!
@ Yes they have levels. I’m not sure who looked at your car without knowing them personally. I know a Level 2 and he is trying to bring/ drag me out of retirement for the Tesla START (Maintenance) program. Level 5’s usually have been with the company from the beginning. They would be the ones changing the battery packs/ supervising proficient Level 4’s & 3’s with the harder tasks etc.. Last graduation I went to, six students had a proficiency level above 100%. Example, if brake changes take 45 minutes their doing it in under 30 minutes. I stumbled across them at the community college.
@ The Charlotte NC Hub has new centers opening & the school is there. Smart Technicians in that region! Hope you get it sorted out. I’m debating on a Model S Plaid. I have a 2023 Genesis Electrified G80!
Did they even tell what the other problem they were going to do more diagnostics on that would cost you 400 dollars????? I suppose they were checking the whole vehicle, not just the problem area, which in some way, is kind of stupid. I guess diagnostics through Tesla is a very expensive endeavor. Good luck in finding out what the clanking noise is in the front end of the vehicle. i did watch the first video before I even watched this one.
No, they only said that they needed more time. And that's what made me feel a little suspicious. Because from the chat message Tesla sent before I hit the road, it was written like they had an idea of what the problem was. And to bring my vehicle there to be serviced and repaired for the initial price quoted. That's why I turned the camera off in the video while talking to the guy, i was super frustrated...lol But thanks for sharing and watching! 😃

It's definitely the upper or lower control arm very common with Tesla's. Happend to my model 3 twice. Any mechanic can fix the issue.
@keitha.1888 as you know, my vehicle is not under warranty, so is this a very expensive fix?
And btw thx for watching & the advice!🙂
@ItsMackVern that's why you do not go to Tesla. Your local mechanic can easily repair your vehicle.
