    You didn't need to let London disorder, when you finish the tech, click on "what's the big picture", go to the first advisor and switch London's production with a right click, this happens before the cities production, so you wouldn't finish the temple.

    EDIT: I know AI overvalues that kind of tech, but still, wanting nearly 2k gold for a tech in 1000BC is insane... most people don't have that kind of money, and in fact you probably wouldn't either if you didn't so aggressively scout and trade! Remember kids - tech trading is king! Love the way Suede puts it though - "if you trade with a civ, only this civ and yours benefit, the rest don't" :-)

    52:05 Oh, interesting. I knew there was still some distance effect, but AIUI since Conquests it's way less noticeable than the OCN increase? I mean before Conquests people would use up a free palace jump to the other side of the map, or exploit ring city placement, but all of this is dead AIUI (in fact you even mentioned it about RCP in another video). From what I've seen on CivFanatics, one should get FP as early as possible, and it doesn't matter that much if it's in a city close to your core? In practice, I still try to make my FP on the "second ring", towards where I'm expanding (or going to be), but it depends on my current govt (I guess FP more effective once despo penalty is lifted?) and how productive such cities are - if they're too small or corrupt I'll generally prioritize getting FP "at all", no matter if it's close from Palace, but I didn't experiment on the topic and am not sure if it's optimal :-)

    Hi Suede, any chance you're planning to do a video on the Sengoku scenario at some point in the future? I'm a relative noob and have tried it 2-3 times on Monarch with no success, even with embassies and constant gift-giving the War Council vote always goes to the other civ that built it. Would be curious to see what you make of the starting positions and tech tree.

    Bro, would you play a game on a huge pangea map (60% water) at least on monarch difficulty level with all victory conditions on (except for wonder victory)? Your goal would be to achieve conquer or domination victory. Once you said that you don't like playing on big maps, but these rules that I mentioned sentence before are my favorite to play for me and I would be very happy to see this kind of game played by you.

    • @nono4805
      @nono4805 3 года назад

      A huge map on Monarch would just make it too easy for a human. It could be played as AW and not really be a strain. Conquer would be be a phony condition as you would have to let a lot of land be empty to prevent domination. AWE would be more fun to watch.

    • @suedeciviii7142
      @suedeciviii7142  2 года назад +1

      I've thought it over and it really depends what you're going for. Planting nearer to the coast gives you a lot more commerce mid game. Having the extra inland desert tiles is useless until you get railroads. And planting nearer to the coast increases to total output of my main island, since otherwise these tiles are inaccessible.
      But planting on the desert tile would get me 2 extra shields early: one from the mined grassland, and one from the city center tile once I hit size 7. Only one of those would help with building the Great Lighthouse, but that's a significant factor, I could have easily been beaten to it.
