The wife and I did this track on ktm v twins (1090 & 790) it was a big day, hot with very little breeze. The river bed section caused us to overheat and we had to have remove gear and rest for a while. Was a lot of fun though throttling through the sand ruts. Probably wouldn't do it again unless I was on a smaller bike
Brilliant episode mate. Look after that ankle bud. Shame about that water that stopped you from getting to the coast. But good excuse to do that adventure again. Looking forward to your next episode mate. Safe travels. 👍🍻
Nice work, that looked tough. Sadly it's a long way from the West. We do have the Canning Stock Route and I will be taking the 500 out there next year. Looking forward to the next instalment. 👍
that was excellent - a few months ago rode it on my KTM 790R and two mates (690R and 625) - it was a hell of a track - we got through OK - you captured it well. I also remember some of the track being like deep sand river beds. We turned left at the top and did not try to get to Cape Melville - it was good to see what you did - the track looked OK. Pity about that water blocking you getting to the beach - would have liked to see what its like (maybe I need to do another trip !)
Rode Starke in 35deg heat and the SE sea breeze does not reach there. Knew I was up for an endurance session. You show the track well with no opportunity to get up and flow in the sand (painful dry deep shite), ha ha 'loo at this shit!) with many traps to catch you out. A great video to those who want to know before they go. Just have to go at a pace to stick with it, not exhaust ones self and keep the risk down.
@@WarrenGoudge I think it was only really necessary from Cooktown through the starcke track to musgrave roadhouse, but I filled the 4L bladder for Lilyvale Road which probably wasn't needed. Otherwise I didn't use them.
You should check out the Outback Motortek crash bars for that bike. I have the same bike and put them on and they’re awesome, they keep the plastic and radiators and graphics from getting all jacked up.
I must have only just missed you, I've been up just North of Starcke in July September and just got back again last Sunday. Starcke crossing is dry now. If you turn to the right few K past the crossing there is a track in to Elerton Beach. Very nice spot.🎉
Loved watching your vid. Nice work. You have a new sub.
@@jessintare4682 Thank you!
Sweet vid.
I'm a newbie to Adv riding. Popped my cherry doing the Simpson this year unsupported.
I'm going to do the cape next year.
@@damolux3388 Enjoy mate! What a way of life it is.
Epic
Great vid dude , looks like an awesome adventure 🤙
Just found your channel.
Week done, keep it coming 💪
You kind of remind me of ARiemann but not smug and slightly less nasally 😂
Cheers mate
@@affleckempire3588 Thanks mate. Appreciate it!

Yeah its a pretty demanding track on the bikes. The 500 was certainly warm!

@wozmat9263 Appreciate it mate. Yeah I think getting out to cape Melville is on the cards in the future, and then hit the west coast of the cape!
Excellent vid mate nice editing and drone footage 👍
Stunning. Well done.
Amazing content as always mate.
Where are all the Subscribers??? This is brilliant. Thanks mate, another great video representing North Queensland.
@samheames920 Hahaha only early days mate. Rome wasn't built in a day as they say! Thanks for the support mate.

@ride4adventure Cape was great mate but not the be all end all. Lots out there I think!

@sritter Yep it's a hell of a track mate. Real shame I couldn't get to the beach on the cape. I'll be going back at some point in my life!

@@brendenvosper7772 Yep couldn't say it better myself mate. No flow and something always waiting to catch you out.
Baggy front tyre. Steer damper. Huge difference. Great vids.....
Awesome videos mate. Heading up there in August. What size fuel tank and bladder have you got
@WarrenGoudge Thanks mate. 15L tank and I had 15L of bladder as well.
@@IronbarkMXdid you use the bladder all the time once you got past Cooktown or was fuel accessible before you had to use it

@dadbosworth6838 There you go! I think I saw said track. I was there mid September!
Great content . How good is it when you get the boots off after a cracking days ride and slip into the pluggers. Respect .
@@stevenwest4078 Bloody oath mate, cheers 🍻
Hey mate, love the vids. Whats the Garmin unit gps do you use? And what drone are you using? Does it autopilot to do chase cam on you?
@jamie5236 Montana 700i, and DJI Mini 4 Pro. Yeah it autopilots mate, you draw a square over whatever you want to chase and it auto tracks.
Something flew through the air when you feel off. What was it,?😂I noticed you ph is no longer mounted.
@@bf3750 it was just some foam off the microphone on the camera. 😂
What's your fuel range mate ?
@roadstrom Roughly 300kms. That's extremely dependent on type of riding obviously.
something fell off at 12min21sec
@@zerotheklr650 Just my gopro smacking the handlebars mate haha. I picked it up.
@IronbarkMX sweet. I walked those roads back in the 70's . I lived down the track from lions den in Rossville
