I had half a bar of Lindt chocolate this weekend which had some Barley Malt Extract😢 My own fault.
So my symptoms have been intense urge to just fall asleep everywhere. I have been sleeping really well. I also have a little brain fog and feel a bit scattered. Bowl movements have been a little inconsistent and a few stomach “jabby” pains.
Just been having the BRAT diet to speed up recovery and having enough herbal teas and water. Not having chicken or fish but scrambled eggs.
Two months post glutening and still I’m struggling with fatigue, sleepiness, stomach pains and reflux. I keep thinking i should be fine now but reminding myself autoimmune is different than an allergy or intolerance. 😓
I have just gotten glutened after 8 years of not eating gluten
Because of my other chronic illness symptoms I never have any idea whether I’ve been glutened or not LMAO. This was interesting!
Oh my gosh that’s the worst!!!
Bro I feel this.
I get symptoms that last for several weeks. The only thing that eases my symptoms is fresh ginger/turmeric in hot water. Bloating, shocking bathroom problems, brain fog, depression & pain.
🤷👌
Same here! And I am just intolerant not coeliac.. will try your suggestion with fresh ginger next time I accidentally “poison” myself
Bro I do a full ginger supplement. Take a ton of lithium orotate for the depression. Its horrendous. I'm gluten intolerant so I know it's worse for yall.
Excellent video lovely. Glad it was a brief and not too unpleasant experience. Sharing this with Beth as I think she'll find it really interesting to hear this from someone else's pov.
I’m sort of new to this type of thing, I’m still working out when I’ve been lightly glutened but when I’ve had gluten I get a bloated tummy which is sore. Bad gas that smells. Loose stalls. Massive brain fog. Fatigue that last for about three weeks. And really bad joint pain. And really bad muscle aches Also feeling a bit flulike. I’m glad I now know that the symptoms of course by eating gluten as before I thought I was just chronically sick feeling so much better now I’ve got gluten out of my diet
For me being glutened means : herpes, left and right joint pain, chronic sinusitis, dry mouth and symptoms of chronic fatigue
Bro my herpes comes up too during a glutening.
I'm intolerant but I've heard from so many places our symptoms are super similar.
You are brave for leaving the house in the middle of a glutening! I would have called in sick 😅
If it was a bad one I would have locked myself in my room for a couple of days 😂
Chamomile is fine. Anything anti-inflammatory is good. When people with cealic eats gluten the intestine becomes inflamed, you can compare it to a stomach flu (in germany its just called "Magen-Darm-Grippe" don't know the propper english word). Thats why you get cramps, bloating etc 🥲 Cry and drink a lot of water and Tea is a proper Tip 🤣 Thanks for sharing.
I’m glad I’m not the only gassy person, it’s so awkward in a public space. When I have a lot of gluten I can’t walk.
That’s partially why I ended up going to the doctor pre diagnosis 😂 hated farting so often
For me it was a random test to try and find why for the life of me I couldn't get iron up. When it came back positive it was like wait what, hold on you telling me that there's a reason why my body has been doing certain things? When I read about the affects it was insane, I honestly thought I was in pain 24/7 was well normal 😅 now I'm like oh I've had gluten again here we go again, hope you are feeling better.
@@keyofb3528 me too!
Ah Oatly milk, I nearly made that same mistake a few weeks ago. Bought it in the supermarket, didn’t even think to check and it was only when I got home I scrutinised the packaging and sadly realised I can’t have this. It’s sad because their US version uses GF oats but not in Europe. Why? I’m on Rude Health’s GF oat milk at the moment. It’s tasty but not quite as nice as Oatly.
I haven’t tried the Rude Health’s - is it a bit more watery? :/
@@howtocoeliac Yes, it’s a little bit more watery and not quite as creamy tasting as Oatly but it’s still a pretty decent drink.
I honestly panicked as I was watching this video because I got Oatley but it said GF oats. I'm in the US so I feel a little better. But now I'm definitely paranoid and don't want to to drink it 🙃
So grateful for my lactose free milk. I drink so much of it.
I find it so fascinating that everyone has such different reactions. Mine is short but violent, 20 mins after I get crazy bloating, the runs 😅 and the most insane stomach pain, but after that settles down (like 40mins) I just have bloating for another few hours and it’s over. I feel for you though! I can’t imagine it lasting a few days. Hope you’re feeling better! 💛
I'm similar, I'll know within fifteen minutes if I've had gluten. Fortunately (or not) My Aunt, several cousins and some of their children are all diagnosed with coeliac disease and so our families are very aware.
I get bloated, the runs stabbing tummy pain, very hot, semi nauseated. This happens for 2 day to 3 days
I am quite surprised that Oatly gave you such a reaction. I actually ate gf oats for first few years of being GF as I was a poor student and didn't really see the point, and so I haven't always seen oat milk as a huge threat as I was largely fine and didn't notice the difference when I switched to GF oats! I don't often get glutened but even when I do I've not really noticed anything apart from tiredness. I'm presuming because it is usually from cross-contamination or a spoonful of something in a meal containing gluten eaten unawares so my body doesn't have as much of a reaction as it did when I was still fully gluten-eating (which was awful)!
Do not recommend eating normal oats though!
I hear ya, I react to small amounts but not violently, just enough to know
Mitigate means to offset or reduce
Where do you find the glebe farm oat milk?
I’ve seen it on Amazon, Holland and Barrett and ocado! X
@@howtocoeliac ah thank you!
