Going off the going-out-to-eat point, we have found that having our friends over to our home for meals is so much cheaper, and we are more likely to have deep, meaningful conversations in a home setting. Plus, since we have kids, it’s easier to have them go and play once the meal is done rather than having to try to entertain them in a restaurant. Since it’s cheaper, we also host once every week when life is in order. Completely worth it for friendships and relationships, and saves so much $

I agree! I also think it’s fun to do new things at home like trying a new recipe. We recently did a focaccia decorating night with some friends and it was a fun activity, interactive, and tasty! 😋

    Love this video!
My husband actually travels to different stores for work, so I'm super guilty of, "listen, I want to eat this for dinner tonight instead of what we agreed upon, can you get the ingredients while you're at the store?" And he's always like, "I'll subscribe to your newsletter." 🤣 He's an enabler lmao. I literally did this earlier this week. I wanted to recreate a salmon salad we had on vacation and did not want what we had in the house. To my credit, I would say this is a half step toward being better. At least I didn't order out! lol. I cooked it, we ate it. It was delicious.
I have a fun bonus tip for anyone who's reading my novel of a comment! My husband and I used to have a really big problem eating out/ordering delivery all the time. We'd make agreements, try to set limits, but none of it seemed to work. Finally, we ended up getting a Visa giftcard and putting our budgeted amount that we'd agreed upon on the gift card. Once that money was gone for the month, it was gone. We made sure to set a realistic amount on there that made sense. Now, we've broken the bad habit and we don't even need the gift card. We eat out maybe once a week compared to like 3 or 4 times a week. My wallet and my waist is grateful lol.

That’s an awesome tip! I love that! I agree trying a new recipe like that is still cheaper than going out, I’m just trying to be better at sticking to my plan I set for the week lol

I have one of my credit card number memorized so deleting it off my accounts isn't that helpful! Ha! We also changed our "going out to eat" rule to only if we're invited by someone. We can't spontaneously just eat out, but if someone asks us to go we will because socializing is fun. But also having people over is a great way to save money!

That’s a good tip! I could never memorize my credit card 😂😂 cancel it and get a new one with a new number 😅

RUclips recommended me this video and I'm so happy to have watched it! I just subscribed!😊
Can you make a video for those of us on how to start a budget, Please? I don't know how to make one. I used to get one source of income every month. I just put everything in my savings but had to get a lot out for emergencies. And I see all these other people on RUclips making money "challenges" and I don't understand how that helps save money. My mom said she doesn't know how to make a budget either. And my dad keeps getting in debt because of the economy. Can you please teach me? 🙏🏼

    Hi Jess 🙂
Bulk buying is a good idea ✅️. I like all of your ideas but buying in bulk really saves money 💰. Bigger boxes of breakfast cereal, washing powder, hand soaps............ How are you doing, Jess?
