It really isn’t, it depends on your level of maturity. I have seen coworkers date and marry just fine but they were able to keep personal and work life separate and they never treated each other differently at work.
Also, many jobs are segregated by gender, so it happens that - for example - many Japanese women are stuck with other Japanese women and have no chance to find a partner even at work because of that. Too tired to go out after work, and no opportunity at work itself. It's the collapse of society.
Yea had to laugh hard how someone in a high office would say that publically. Very refreshing too. None of that shiet I hear about Japanese hiding their true thoughts. And none of that Clinton shiet about having a private view and another public view.
That politician's speech is one of the most insane things I've ever heard. The amount of money someone makes has nothing to do with their value as a human, especially in a country that refuses to pay its workers fairly for the hard work they do. If other politicians feel the same way, no wonder the government continues to be corrupt and useless to improve the country.
Wealth can be a determinant of competence, but the wealthy also bottleneck economies to suit their interests at the cost of the average person. He kind of raises a good point about people who have kids that wont really improve productivity of its society, but for a place like Japan, that seems like a rarity because of just how intense their work ethic is.
@@USSAnimeNCC-it's not even a left/right thing. This sort of thing is generational. It doesn't matter if they voted Clinton or Bush, when a boomer is told that the world is getting harder for the younger generations to live in, they all say the same thing: "keep slaving away for the system and work work work and you'll eventually get the carrot at the end of the stick.".
Well eugenics work. Still a politician talking about how competent he is. Give me a break. Competent and politician rarely if ever go hand in hand. Politics is a way for mediocre and manipulative people who can't succeed in anywhere else to get rich.
@@christinastein1196 when? It has been tried from time to time, but you cannot maintain these policies without angering a significant portion of the population. That politician had some brutal standards w As a nurse working in Japan, I feel like I have the right skill sets to be a productive member of society but simply "earning" more is impossible due to it being out of my control. I can be the best nurse on the floor but at the end of the day, my paycheck is in control of somebody else's discretion. I can work more hours to earn more money, yes, but that leaves me no time for a possible partner later in life. I am only 24 and most people tell me to relax since I am still very young but I tend to think about the future a lot and just the thought of not choosing between not making enough money for my children or not having enough time with my family sends me over into further stress w 😅😭
damn, thats rough. I hope you find a partner who can help carry your struggles with you. IMO I think raising children is a team game, and either you both carry the struggle, or 1 of you does and the other focuses on income. Upto each situation in how they want to approach it.
I remember, when I was staying with my wife at my brother’s in Japan, Japanese nurses were making about $16/hr in contrast to American nurses making roughly $50/hr. Demand of expected work hours and low wages and salary is not conducive to having families, let alone relationships
After a quick google image search, he seems to be a real piece of work: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Takashi_Tachibana#Comments_justifying_genocide Also, based on his party's election results, which are below a statistical error level, he is a really really fringe politician.

This problem is not only in Japan. All developed countries have low birthrate. Because women with higher education and working make less babies. And some just don't want to be bothered with children. If you focus on native European population, european birthrate is also a disaster. The difference is that Japan has less immigration.
Why do you think US has brought in those Anti-Abortion laws suddenly. Even though they don't visually show any decline in birthrate, but that's primarily because of Immigrants living there and creating their own families. America's local birthrate (without Immigrants count) is really low, which is why it's giving so much incentives to attract more Immigrants.
Immigration policy in the U.S. is controlled by corporations that want cheap labor and saturated labor pools (which in turn flattens wages), causing domestic born Americans to have less children.@@Sup_D
@@bugristno he means the lack of border control and the subsidizing of housing, insurance, and food for immigrants paid for by the native taxpaying American. American politicians see the writing on the wall and they need more people in their serf-class so they're turning a blind eye on stowaways entering the country without papers. Right now in New York the taxpayers there are subsidizing migrants to live in hotels around the city.
@@Sup_D This is very true. Us black folks have stopped having kids and that's because of how much it costs. My cousin has a teenage son and a young daughter herself and when she last visited us, she was complaining about that. It seems like the only people having kids are migrants and folks with a sustainable amount of income to support them which is becoming increasingly difficult.
Credit where it's due I suppose. I've always assumed many politicians in the west feel the way this one does, but just can't discuss it openly, so it's nice to hear someone go full mask off about it... Also, I think it would've been prudent to ask him how many kids he has or is intending to have.
I do feel bad for any woman who marries this guy, men with gigantic egos tend to be wife beaters, I dont know, this guy seems like giant red flag to me. Also, most politicians in the west have 0 right to think like this, most of them come from dynastic families with inherited money and connections.
So many mentally ill freaks out there including the eugenics politician and feminist sounding women who spurn and brainwash other women while advocate against marriage with men as if it's some sort of oppressive system designed in place because they couldn't work and earn money themselves in the past. If this is what they want then good, they should make their bed and lay in it, but not complain later on. Of course their solution is the comical genghin khan style of going back to warlords who have multiple concubines and women, because apparently monogamy is evil and oppressive or some other nonsense, when in reality monogamy has been a good bedrock of society that kept it whole, stable and ensured all people have a partner in life to live with and build a life/family with.
Using that politician's own words against him, the "work harder" response s a quantitive argument, not a qualitative one. Because if you need to work harder to earn more money, you will not have time left over to even raise a family with kids; this undermines his own stance. He's likely a nepobaby. Your wealth ultimately is decided by the quality of your salary (decided by your employer), not the amount of worked hours. More hours does not automatically mean more wealth. You will have diminishing returns as your productivity suffers from too much work with little rest & socializing.
Thanks 😊 😊 😊 alot for explaining this issue. This politican thinks like a certain person that was a dictator of Germany from 1930s to the 1940s. It is just sad 😔 😔. I am a Sudanese-Canadian that is turning 30 years old. Here in Canada 🇨🇦 we suffer from low birth rate and the main cause is the cost of living crisis. I cannot afford a house, mortgage nor good car in order to have children. Therefore, I will not be having any children anytime soon.
That politican thinks he is one of the smart/competent ones... He literally does not produce anyting of value. A.I. could easily replace him and make his work more transparent and effective...
that politician speach shows how out of the reality the elite class is in Japan, when asked "how do we tackle that problem?" (low income man raising not feeling ok with marrying) his answer was "let the weak men die". A POLITICIAN. just disgusting.
That politician is why Japan is in the horrible state it is. He is basically saying, “Worthy, smart, powerful people should only breed, while the unworthy, weak people shouldn’t breed. Their weakness should be punished by becoming slaves to make the rich richer.” Comparing society to the animal kingdom is a flawed argument and sickening. We are not animals; we are humans. There is a reason humans are the only species that constantly evolves. We are constantly looking forward to becoming better than who we are. The moment we freeze or regress is the moment we fall as a society. This “politician” should be locked up. If there is a problem, we should fix it, not punish people.
nah this is cope eugenics work actually, not every aspect does, but ultimately it does, race matters less than specific traits, if you select for them you can find certain traits, instead of using biology to its advantage human morals have basically doomed us all because we have locked ourselves to cybernetic ascension and replacing us with AI, since humans cannot out compete AI or synthetic lifeforms without bioengineering and eugenics
That politician has serious issuers. It’s shocking to see that someone would think like that in real life and feel comfortable to share those views in public. People need to vote him out of office.
Just wanna say thank you to Nobita for introducing us to her sister Akane. She seems like a lovely lady and you can tell she's very kind and friendly 😊
regarding the thing about monogamy and incompetents procreating, as a Mexican i can tell you that unless you spend a massive amount of time reinforcing ethics and morals all you will get is either more incompetent people having poorly educated children or an increasing amount of single parents that will let their children become incompetent because they wont have enough time to raise them properly, you need to have a nuclear family to raise a children to be a force of good, or else you are gambling with the odds against you because school can only teach you so much and you need to come back and see at least one parent watching over you giving you a good example. (also smart people tend to want to procreate less because they put their career first and if they are working more they have less time to meet a partner and raising a child simply doesn't fir the schedule).
Yep, higher IQ is corelated with the few first children of functional nuclear families. All these doctor Strangelove types who think so highly of themselves that they should get their harem to elevate humanity are just wrong.
The nuclear family is what caused the decline in birth rate anyway, women used to have 12 kids when they had their grabdma and siblings helping with child rearing, the minute it was just mom + mostly working all day dad women were like oh fuck that I cant handle more than 2 kids maybe 3
Change your work week standards would help dramatically. I quickly realized Japan was not for me after college. Luckily, my fiancé, born and raised in Japan agreed to come back to the U.S with me. We have a baby on the way!
People expect to be able to do everything at once and be happy fulfilled and have tons of money. Unless you are already doing very well financially having kids can be expensive. You can work your way up the financial ladder while having kids. Seen it done plenty of times. People are just so stuck in media narratives they hear though to ever believe this to be fact, however
@@fc7307 That's what the Politician was talking about. A capable and high earning Elite Men can afford to have a Harem; while weak minded, lazy and failure Men can't. And realistically, a single Man is capable of impregnating many Women (without regards to relationship stuff).
@@A_Caatharems aren't the "homeostatic" state of mating dynamics in humans at all. If that were the case, concubines would be considered as natural as the 'nuclear family'. And if hypergamy in women were as natural as you claim, you and I would never have been conceived to begin with, as we would have went extinct thousands of years ago with a different homo- species taking our place, as when hypergamy increases in females the rate of births in that population decreases drastically.
Postmodernism has hit Japan silently. The ideology that money equates to happiness. The devaluation of the role of stay at home parents, which in my mind is the most honourable role that creates good future humans. Working long hours equates to more money which equates to more security, Wrong, it equates to more money for the government but less quality of life or hope for the nuclear family, in fact it’s the fastest way to eradicate the nuclear family, just go look at the statistics world wide. By the way, AI will only completely devalue the human race if we let it. But that’s another debate. It’s not about it’s efficiency, we have to decide if we value the qualities of AI more than human qualities, if we do, we are doomed. Technology was supposed to be assistive, it shouldn’t be a replacement, unless we value it’s qualities more than humans.

That’s the mentality of someone who doesn’t have a clear understanding of how the real world works. On another note, I wasn’t being rude about women in those ranges either. I was being factual.
I understood that policy to be a less direct incentive. It's to normalize marriage. For young people to see all the middle-aged and older people around them are happily married so they want to do it too. Since young people are surrounded by older singles, then THAT will be the norm and the marriage and birth rates will only continue to fall.
@@corimastick1790 I wonder if that would even work, considering it's the older generation where this trend started in the first place. It’s tough for the average Japanese brothers I can feel their pain. 😢 I’m on Japan biggest matchmaking corporation IBJ for the past 4 years now through an independent Omiai marriage agency and I’m still unwanted at 35/168cm/8M¥ per year. 😅. I know it’s their personal choices but majority (80%) of the women who rejected me withdraw from the system, (10%) gets a serious match (potentially marriage) and (10%) stays around to possibly withdraw later.
The most incompetent one in the video is that politician. OMG he has no clue about human emotions and feelings. When a society boils down to just money and nothing else I mean that society is empty.
Overall, Japan needs to acknowledge its societal weaknesses. With its long history and numerous challenges, the country will eventually overcome the issue of depopulation. The leaders and big business will have to face the actual problems at hand. However, one thing is clear - if they opt for foreign workers or AI and robots, they might as well bid sayonara to their culture. In my opinion, the global phenomenon of low birth rate is a symptom of a sick economic system borne out of human greed. The belief of continuous growth as if the global resources is infinite and will sustain capitalist greed. One thing is certain: it's all about who gains and who loses.
Human greed has always existed the problem is that modern global capitalism isn't tethered to anything and so has no accountability to how or why it grows.
He is not wrong, but he is arrogant. He might think someone like him has 能力 and is therefore a "successful" human, but he should remember very well that tomorrow A.I. will replace his job too and he will be 無能 like the people he speaks of.
I'm just angry at the words of the first politician you interviewed Nobita-san. I do neither want pointing fingers nor making crazy assumptions, but what he said sounded to me a lot to social darwinism.
what that politician said was madness to me. by his standards majority of Japanese men are incompetent and the fact that he compared people to animals, is something else. "only wealthy men are supposed to let their women give birth" where did bro get this idea from? furthermore infidelity is bad because that's sex outside of marriage, that's clearly wrong when you did promise to be with that one person only, unless you talked about having sexual activities with other people beforehand. Also having a politician say "just work harder to earn more" is something you would see in a comedy. someone tell this man he is NOT COOKING. bro thinks he's Kim Jong Un, and is it just me but isn't the guy advocating for eugenics?
There are at least two problems with the social Darwinist viewpoint presented by the politician. 1. Intelligence and competence only exist in the pursuit of some goal determined by morals or value judgements, so devaluing human life in the service of competence is putting the cart before the horse. 2. He's so proud of himself for being better, but there's always someone smarter and more competent than you. Once we get rid of today's idiots, you may find that you or your children are the new idiots. Where does one draw the line?
I don't know if increasing marriage rates will do the trick. You still need people willing to put in the effort to raise children, and they need the proper environment to carry the load with them.
That was really great, what made me really worry is that politician might have a vote in parliament! Your sister and Jun have such good outlooks, 90% hard work but the 10% of joy outweighs everything else, plus as you get older you really a lot of energy to keep up with young children, but I personally wouldn’t change a thing, I was 42 years old and single.
That Tachibana san had some takes, alright. On a positive note, the woman at the end had such a lovely and optimistic outlook on what marriage would be for her and her husband.
Why does it seem like they're putting all the pressure and blame on women? What about men's responsibility to be better fathers and husbands? What about gender equality? Out of the developed countries, Japan is said to be one of the worst places to be a woman, so it's no wonder if women don't want to risk their health and lives with pregnancy and child birth when they're already at disadvantage in life.
Men accept 90% of proposals by women, women only accept a fraction. If people aren't getting married, most likely it's due to women because it's pretty much them who decide.
Wouldnt be suprised if 80 % of the women are not good enough to be mothers so whats the point? Womens perspective to marriege and Kids needs to change in order to make any progress
I had to finish the entire video to comment about that politician who was spouting non sense. He is narcissistic asf! I understand the reasoning behind his arguments but to consider that as the main reason why Japan does not need to promote healthy marriages is sh*t. I believe that more than just encouraging people to have children, the government together with its people should look at the root cause of why young people refuse to get married in the first place. It's more than just feelings, it's about security in terms of finances and unfortunately, jobs cannot fulfill that kind of stability. This problem is not just in Japan. It's just that people in the now deeply acknowledges the huge responsibility of raising a family.
This politicians of a certain dictator of Germany from the 1930s to the 1940s. Unfortunately, we have those types of people in our lives and cannot do anything about it. I am a Sudanese-Canadian living in Canada 🇨🇦 and I cannot afford to have children because of the cost of living crisis. I am turning 30 in September and I will not be bringing children into this world anytime soon. Here, mortgage prices are extremely expensive, the same with groceries and almost everything.
I wish I could meet and talk with Nobita-san about these and other topics while I'm here in Japan for this year. I've been following this channel since the Find your love era and always wanted to have a conversation with you. I can see that as always you put a lot of effort into making this video, and I'm grateful for it. This topic is an important one, thank you for talking about this.
The whole time that politician was speaking I had a look of disgust. Then he had the balls to say he was strong or whatever. There is no middle finger big enough. Also instead of putting tax money into match making, why not make it easier for people to live there first? Improve quality of life? Raise what people are paid? Lower prices? Idk feels backwards to me
After watching comment: (I think fertility time lines need to be taught to highschoolers so they can plan their life knowing the limitations if they plan to have kids. I think this is a big failure of society.) Interesting video though, keep it up. While watching comments: 1:05 I think this answer was best: "I won't change my lifestyle to get married" is what I would consider the number 1 thing preventing marriage. But I do like the other answers of "I believe I will meet them naturally," which hasn't ever been the case. Idk, something about being relatively wealthy seems to have people making up new realities, I think. 1:32 Is also a good point, the longer you spend living alone, the harder it is to switch that. 1:51 Economic stagnation usually would spur marriage. Part of the reason is either pooling income or distribution of labor in the household and sharing things like housing to lower costs. 3:21 Not trying to be cruel, but I heard this guy and thought "so this is the ugly b trope we're the guy wants your wife to carry his baby..." No, farmers actually had a lot of kids to make up for the fact that many wouldn't make it but they would need help on the farms. At least in other parts of the world. 6:10 Most dating apps devolve into sx apps, even in Japan as someone who used them. They usually focus on visuals more than anything as most girls/guys I knew wouldn't even read profiles unless they matched, which meant looks came first. Might be biased sample though. 6:25 That brings up the question of what does she believe our responsibility to society is, as people who heavily benefit from society? After all, she can only exist on her own without family/husband because of societies development, yet without kids it will fall apart. 7:43 I get her point, and she isn't necessarily wrong that men want younger women, but I do believe there are people who would find her attractive enough. The problem is people go to matchmaking services and pay to get the best they can, and kids are big as well as attractiveness. It is an area where you will be selling yourself and even if you are at your best, you won'tleave with your self esteem where it was. I think she would have a better time finding someone by joining a group that does a certain hobby instead. Or introductions by friends. 8:34 A lot of situations I hear of women having families and careers usually involved her getting married young, doing the family stuff, and then going to college when the kids were more independent/out of the house followed by a career. Which tends to work better with healthy pregnancies as well, as you can have kids easier in your 30s if you have experience in your 20s, but if you have the first child in your 30s it will be much harder on you and the baby. 8:53 The problem is that this isn't aligned with the science of fertility. This idea of putting off kids. It is harder at 30, gets far worse at 35, and so on. There was a study about I that I read a while ago talking about the difficulty with age. I believe it was Fecundability and sterility by age: estimates using time to pregnancy data of japanese couples... 12:24 I think he makes a fair point, but I go back to what I alluded to earlier. We now live in a time where women can live alone, unlike any other time in history. Both men and women have more options for life, so unless a woman prioritizes marriage it makes sense that the price to get her to marry would go up. Not saying it is good or bad, just logical, from certain perspectives. 13:55 The problem is "who seem so happy," but you don't actually know that. The end part, I think people see something as hard and therefore not worth doing but they don't take that mentality towards a career. Being a parent is hard. Being married is hard. Finding a good partner is hard. But it is an experience that nothing else can compare to. Probably because we are built to feel that way.
Finally somewhere sensible comment Post it at good blogs Society fails as they never give those skills to high schoolers to how to plan family afterwards. They are continuously against relationship stuffs while promote casual hooking up
This is my Christian view on it so just ignore me. However, one of the things in the Bible which is the down fall of a person is the love of money. Money is important but when you make it an idol it will curse you. When Jesus speaks of God’s kingdom He speaks of loving God and loving your neighbor. To love God is to keep His commands and a lot of them have to do with how you treat others. In the Biblical view of what love (agapé) is, it talks about a bunch of aspects wrapped into it such as kindness, patience, not self seeking, and not rude. In marriage, if two people embody those aspects then it is a strong marriage and makes a firm foundation for kids to grow up with. Out of most Japanese people I have talked to that are dating or have been divorced they say the biggest values they have in a relationship is if their partner is a hard worker and if they are happy together. Rarely is communication, respect, or empathy brought up as good traits. As I have said, if you don’t value my “religious” opinion you can ignore it, however, when you view human relationships as numbers on a spreadsheet to calculate happiness and success then you end up speaking like that politician. I had dinner with a Japanese family a few nights ago and the husband told me Japanese people would rather not do anything than fail at something. Well guess what? We are humans, we fail from time to time. If you want to build a successful relationship, learn to have grace for people, if someone then is able to have grace for you in return you have a good starting point to build each other up. I know this is true, because whenever I give grace to a Japanese person even for small mistakes it’s seems to be almost mind blowing. I didn’t understand this until I realized in the work culture, if you are low in the hierarchy then you are almost always expected to take the blame. In marriage it doesn’t work like that, you share responsibility, the moment you start blaming each other is the moment you both lose.
The problem isn't all aspects of Japanese culture although I'm sure there are areas where there could be improvement, the problem in Japan is the same thing that we're struggling with in the west, Modernity and Secularism.
No, the culture existed for thousands of years, social liberalism has been around for much less and has the same effect everywhere. Look at the west, are Italian birth rates due to Japanese cultural traditions.
@@vorynrosethorn903 Did you actually look at the data? Just because Italy has a low birth rate, that doesn't mean the low birth rates at issue are comparable. The video itself showed that the birth rate outside marriage in Japan is massively lower than in other countries.
I mean houses ain't cheap, money is hard to come by, children are expensive, marriage is a horrible investment for men. Western Europe ain't doing so much better, immigration only gives the impression that our citizens are growing, but natives are dying or moving out.
As crazy as that politician sounded he confirmed to me what I think is the main culprit of the population decline and it's lack of income especially among men. I think Nobita should explore the economic side of the population decline more. Like exploring the difference between now and Japan's baby boom.
3:20 Well, from a Darwinistic view point he isn't completely wrong. BUT for that to work and not lead to utter disaster those who do produce children would need to have HUGE families.
I'm an advocate for women's rights and absolutely think it's awesome that women are able to work and make a living themselves now in Japan. I don't think the problem is that they are working, but that there seems to be a very omnipresent sentiment from the respondents in all the videos I've watched from your channel's reports that they see marriage and relationships as purely transactional; e.g, what can they do for me, and not anything to do with romance or companionship. Both the men and women have responded with similar ideas, that they don't see seeking love as worth their time since they could be making money or doing something else. Is Japan just generally aromantic? Is it just that work is so hard and the hours are so long that most see anything outside of work as impossible? Or is there another reason?
What the politician said was no surprise because, after all, people in position of power doesn't care for those who are not in the same position but one thing I didn't expect was his choice of words. Basically he mocked 2/3 of the planet lol
Also the goverment needs to add proper incentive for women to have Kids. Its prolly hard for goverment to give up women in the workforce, but why not co.e with a solution. Like i dunno work remotely over a period of time so they are still able to make money but able to attend to kids needs ? Just an idea
How common are this politicians views in Japanese politics? Did you find some kind of extremist for your interview? I think you owe us some more information on this.
It concerns me that, even in Japan, a lot of the youth are falling into the same trap that the West has. "Don't worry about marriage, focus on your career" has been devastating to society, heavily contributing to the lonliness problem.
Not only do Japanese people need to get married but they have to have at least 3 children so that population of Japan will increase. If they only have one or two kids the population will not increase. That right-wing politician was annoying and wrong.
Nobita I don't think you should continue to interview that one extremist politician. It'll give people the idea that his opinions are actually shared commonly in Japan
People go through different circumstances before thay can reach their full-potential. What if the people they say are idiots have been dealt with a bad hand?

It really isn’t, it depends on your level of maturity. I have seen coworkers date and marry just fine but they were able to keep personal and work life separate and they never treated each other differently at work.
Hollywood, Disney and soap operas have crafted this unreal expectation of romance and relationships. I dunno, just my opinion.
Also, many jobs are segregated by gender, so it happens that - for example - many Japanese women are stuck with other Japanese women and have no chance to find a partner even at work because of that. Too tired to go out after work, and no opportunity at work itself. It's the collapse of society.

That politician's speech is one of the most insane things I've ever heard. The amount of money someone makes has nothing to do with their value as a human, especially in a country that refuses to pay its workers fairly for the hard work they do.

Bro a politician saying monogamy is wrong with his heart out. If we keep having ppl like dis japan is cooked dawg😭

Eugenics is not new in there.
nah this is cope eugenics work actually, not every aspect does, but ultimately it does, race matters less than specific traits, if you select for them you can find certain traits, instead of using biology to its advantage human morals have basically doomed us all because we have locked ourselves to cybernetic ascension and replacing us with AI, since humans cannot out compete AI or synthetic lifeforms without bioengineering and eugenics
That politician has serious issuers. It’s shocking to see that someone would think like that in real life and feel comfortable to share those views in public. People need to vote him out of office.

regarding the thing about monogamy and incompetents procreating, as a Mexican i can tell you that unless you spend a massive amount of time reinforcing ethics and morals all you will get is either more incompetent people having poorly educated children or an increasing amount of single parents that will let their children become incompetent because they wont have enough time to raise them properly, you need to have a nuclear family to raise a children to be a force of good, or else you are gambling with the odds against you because school can only teach you so much and you need to come back and see at least one parent watching over you giving you a good example.

It's to normalize marriage. For young people to see all the middle-aged and older people around them are happily married so they want to do it too. Since young people are surrounded by older singles, then THAT will be the norm and the marriage and birth rates will only continue to fall.

Politicians really are out of touch.
nah he is actually in the minority
This interview of this politician is precious, whether you agree with him or not, it's good to know how someone in his place can think.
Wait...that government guy was not an actor for April fools day? He is for real?
I don't know if increasing marriage rates will do the trick. You still need people willing to put in the effort to raise children, and they need the proper environment to carry the load with them.

Why does it seem like they're putting all the pressure and blame on women? What about men's responsibility to be better fathers and husbands? What about gender equality? It's more than just feelings, it's about security in terms of finances and unfortunately, jobs cannot fulfill that kind of stability. This problem is not just in Japan. It's just that people in the now deeply acknowledges the huge responsibility of raising a family.

After watching comment: (I think fertility time lines need to be taught to highschoolers so they can plan their life knowing the limitations if they plan to have kids. I think this is a big failure of society.)
Interesting video though, keep it up.
While watching comments:
1:05 I think this answer was best: "I won't change my lifestyle to get married" is what I would consider the number 1 thing preventing marriage.
3:21 Not trying to be cruel, but I heard this guy and thought "so this is the ugly b trope we're the guy wants your wife to carry his baby..."
No, farmers actually had a lot of kids to make up for the fact that many wouldn't make it but they would need help on the farms.
Finally somewhere sensible comment
Post it at good blogs
Society fails as they never give those skills to high schoolers to how to plan family afterwards.
Nothing will change until japanese can recognize the problem is their culture with all the rituals, protocols, rules, expectations.
Also Britain is experiencing these problems , but everyone in Britain just smiles and pretends everything is great 😅.
Western Europe ain't doing so much better, immigration only gives the impression that our citizens are growing, but natives are dying or moving out.
the social darwinist politician guy cracks me up.
With believes like that that politician is surely working for the benefit of the people and not stuffing his own pockets every chance he gets
As crazy as that politician sounded he confirmed to me what I think is the main culprit of the population decline and it's lack of income especially among men.
I think Nobita should explore the economic side of the population decline more. Like exploring the difference between now and Japan's baby boom.
Yup
There are worse things than a declining population, like population replacement. I hope Japan doesn't do the latter to fix the former.
To replace the population they would need to import foreigners for like >100 years.
Unfortunately, this channel attracts the kind of people who dream of living there.
@@rsuriyop Don't live in Japan. Weebs.
@@rsuriyopor incels or idiots thinking they are saviors by impregnating Japanese females.
Also the goverment needs to add proper incentive for women to have Kids. Its prolly hard for goverment to give up women in the workforce, but why not co.e with a solution. Like i dunno work remotely over a period of time so they are still able to make money but able to attend to kids needs ? Just an idea
Education cost is what rip off the parents
Govt must do something about it.
That politician must have been heavily influenced by the opening intro of the movie Idiocracy.
Ikr😂
That politician want to be an AI Bot 😢
How common are this politicians views in Japanese politics? Did you find some kind of extremist for your interview? I think you owe us some more information on this.
It concerns me that, even in Japan, a lot of the youth are falling into the same trap that the West has. "Don't worry about marriage, focus on your career" has been devastating to society, heavily contributing to the lonliness problem.
Nobita: "What are we doing to allow more people to marry?"
Politician: "Letting them die off because they are weak brokies"
Not only do Japanese people need to get married but they have to have at least 3 children so that population of Japan will increase. If they only have one or two kids the population will not increase. That right-wing politician was annoying and wrong.
your child raises you? I never felt like that with all of my kids.
Nobita I don't think you should continue to interview that one extremist politician. It'll give people the idea that his opinions are actually shared commonly in Japan
People go through different circumstances before thay can reach their full-potential. What if the people they say are idiots have been dealt with a bad hand?
the politician's speech was quite shocking to hear (at least it's valuable to hear what some of the people in power there have to say)
Nobita is one of the few Japan social media folks who tell the truth about Japan and not the usual gaijin utopian view of it being perfect.
3:44 How in the world is that man allowed to give his opinion on policy making? What year and what country does he live in? If he was my politician i would certainly work to have him REMOVED POST HASTE…. Shocking. Truly. How is he in any position that gives him any leverage or power? He is all for Eugenics, isn’t he? Wow. Just wow.
I'm 30, male, in a dead end career making enough to survive but that's it, been single for almost 6 years. I honestly believe I'd have better chances at dating and eventual marriage in Japan than I would here in Canada. This has been a growing issue for all civilized countries as work and living standards have drastically changed, in some ways better but more towards the negative.
I'm 37, was in the dead end career for 18 years. I'm now in Japan and about to find out if you are right about the better chances of dating and marriage here. Its been 2 weeks and no such luck yet. Maybe one day ill find this comment again and report a success/failure ;)
For real living costs n needs in the US🇺🇸 day by day
As a single middle-aged man myself, I felt bad for the pretty lady who said that men aren’t interested in women over 30.
まさかのN党🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
ひまなんやろな
Yikes that politician is reincarnated from the era where eugenics was accepted
No matter the trajectory of your population, preserve your homogenous society. At some point in the future population levels will stabilize and grow again. But going the diversity route to increase your population at all cost isn't advisable.
💯
@@BoredInTheComments "Diversity is our strength" is an absolute lie. In Canada, America, and much of Europe we're paying for that lie. Diversity does nothing except cause conflict and pain for all parties involved. Whatever you do, don't let your education system be overtaken by critical theory, or anything (intersectional feminism, gender studies, etc) related to Marxist ideology. Root it out and get rid of it before it grows, or it will march through your institutions like it has ours.
They also have to decide how they will survive with a strong China and no US in the Pacific.
@peterc4082 why would they have to do that?
@@peterc4082 Do you really listen that western propoganda and actually believe it? Not like China has any interest in taking over Japan. They have no reason to.
This video convinced me that Japan is doomed to continue its decline while complacently not making any serious efforts to stop it.
They are the most collectivist society on earth, but can't be bothered to move as a society to encourage families, its a little pathetic and I think genuinely sad.
another commentor mentioned hungary as a potential model for other countries. compared to them, nihon hasnt made many real policy changes
