Thank you so much for posting this. I FINALLY have my ZUMO XT, Cardo Edge and Android Pixel phone all playing nice with one another. Bummer that it is now over a year since the original video posting and Garmin still hasn't figured out how to work through these wrinkles.

I was having BT issues with my Garmin Zumo XT, too many things connected (Sena 30K, iPhone 12, Zumo). BT music was very choppy if at all, Sena voice commands weren't working, etc. Thanks for the fix!! Flying a Bus in Europe sounds like fun, busy though. I spent 2 years based in CDG on an A300-B4. Best times.
I've had a Zumo XT for quite a while now, no phone issues but I don't use a wireless headset like a Sena but a wired Autocom unit, the XT communicates with the phone and also the Autocom via it's attached Bluetooth module, no issues, but i do have the odd lock up of the XTs media playback of mp3 which are located on an SD card plugged into the XT, i put this down to a few ropey mps rips ! if I chose to play Mp3s from the phone these work fine
I posted this on Part 2 of your Zumo XT series. Is there any additional setup necessary if you're needing to hook in a second headset for a passenger? Or, say if you were going to use this and you were going to intercom with another rider for a bit, but still be able to go back and forth from intercom to music? Would you be able to use Drive, your own phone and headset, plus another headset? Would the setup and connection chain remain the same inside the Zumo? Just trying to solve issue's before setting out in a group of 2 separate bikes as the wife and I use Cardo's. We love the intercom, but we each like our own music, while I handle all the navigation....
Hi Rob, to be honest my wife doesn’t listen to music , so we just have our headsets paired to each other . It’s been a while since she’s been on the back , pre Covid ! Hi, how does the music playback appear on the XT if you are just streaming it from your mobile in your pocket? I'm sure I read somewhere that unlike it being shown in this video(which I'm guessing is from having MP3 files stored on the SD card inside the XT) I prefer to use Spotify to stream as many others do rather than filling up my mobiles valuable built in storage space with loads of MP3 files of songs. Do you see the artist, track name and ability to skip tracks from the screen itself?
Hi, you can stream and I have just got my xt out to try it. Spotify works and you get the album art but you cannot skip to the next item when listening to a podcast, you have to tap the forward button numerous times to get to the end of that to get to the next one.Music you can skip to the next track ok.

At the moment I'm using my mobile with the Tomtom rider app which works fine, but can be a real pain because I like to take videos and photos on my rides and this then means having to remove the phone from the quadlock mount, and then use separate apps to take photos and videos which wrecks the screen orientation which then has to be reset each time.
@@Drpepper99uk I paired my phone with the tft to my bmw and my sent was paired to the tft also, so I used the control wheel to change tracks etc displayed on the tft. I could also select tracks from the Garmin unit itself by selecting tracks with my finger as the phone was connected to both tft and garlic xt via bluetooth for my media. mostly I used the bmw control/whizz wheel to select skip tacks etc so I had a choice of where to look for.worked fine. I have had minor issues with the garmin when the skip pause buttons etc just froze and wouldn't work no matter how hard I hit the thing!!!!! but I guess most electrical things have the odd moment! I defo would give the xt a thumbs up.
Hi, apologies for the delay. Yes you can I have just tried simulator mode whilst sat in my kitchen with just a sea 10s headset connected direct to the xt and works fine with the spoken nav directions. If you had music on an sd card then you could play that too.👍
When you have the music controls freeze are you running music from your phone or the memory card ? I run only from the memory card so I'm not draining my phone battery.
Hi Dave, I think it was from the phone.....I think I used the phones playlist as I couldn't convert some of the songs to mp3 due to copyright or something like that 🤔
@@gsd32i yeah that's probably most of the problem, lm not a big fan of iPhone they're too isolated and problematic with other systems. I have a 595lm and I'm thinking of upgrading to the XT. The 595 has its own quirks like not wanting to restart after it gets hot. Anyway thanks for the video and your reply. Try running off the SD card, I've never had a problem. 👍
Good afternoon and thank you for your videos, they have been very useful. I have just experienced a problem when trying to transfer files to my XT using my MacBook; the device will not show up. I have read (in Garmin Support) that a Windows computer must be used for the XT and mentioned something about specialist software for Macs; this seems a little ridiculous as Macs are so common. Have you experienced this issue? Kind regards, Andy
Hi . Are you using the correct cable ? Sounds daft but you should use the garmin usb cable as it specifically is the one for data transfer. I had the problem when I connected the zumo to my Mac , drove me nuts until I used the supplied cable and was then able to transfer files without issue from base camp etc .

How do you get to turn off the Bluetooth if your screen is frozen?
Try switching the xt off and then turn it back on again .

I’ve had this on my Africa Twin and my GS and although I don’t do off road the unit has never come loose even over 100mph !
