I have a 3.4 v6 with a Flowmaster fx but your has a nice note
Thanks you. I still like it...
I have a 2002 as well, replaced muffler and re did the exhaust at 160k. Too much rust
Thanks for commenting and watching!
Just picked up the same exhaust! Any idea on why borla offers two different models for the first gen, one being for 96-99 while the other is 00-04. Can’t seem to find the difference?
I wish I could say I know. But I don't. I am still happy with the exhaust.
The 00-04 Tacoma got a facelift and a few tweaks
@@hilobro0076 2001 to 2004 was the face lift. 99/00 are the same.
Do you have a lot of drone at highway speed or is it pretty tame?
Edit: nevermind... your text at 11:05 showed up just when I posted the comment. lol
🤘 right on! Got the same set up coming off some Doug Thorley headers. Think if I remember correctly Low Range Off-Road had a relocation/drop down bracket mount (Old Man Emu) sounds like you have it fixed though.
is it any louder? I also don't want anything obnoxious but would definitely like a little more sound than stock
I love how it sounds where can I find the exact set up?
I found the exhaust on EBAY. I looked at several sites and found it on EBAY for the best price. Thanks!
Great video! I have an '02 & been thinking about getting one of these for it. You should do another video w/ drive by & in-cab
I'll add it to my to do list! :) Thanks for watching. Maybe I can get this video out in a week or so.
hello. so i realize you have the 2000-04 version of the truck vs my 1999 but i've been wondering about the exhaust clearance with the leaf springs with this exhaust kit and 1st gen extended cab taco. i've installed an old man emu complete lift kit which included the extended exhaust bracket. i have had no issues with my stock exhaust pipes clearing my upgraded OME dakar leaf spring packs. here's a link to a video i put up to show the clearance i have ruclips.net/user/shortsYmZEPMqRuKY?si=7j4Vq7k2r_HKr-X4 i thinki should be ok but i wanted to ask around before i dropped 8-900 dollars. thank you and i hope to hear from you soon.
Thanks!
@@ModernCountryLiving any thoughts on clearance being a potential issue?
Does anyone have this borla exhaust on a 1st gen crew cab 4wd. Im seeing that is "doesnt fit" on multiple websites. Or is is possible to make it fit, with just and extension piece to make it slightly longer? I havent been able to find any catback exhausts for 1st gen crew cabs, only extendeds.
that's what I'm seeing too. They don't even list the 4dr version. I assume it will fit due to the same chassis (121") but can't be sure until someone can confirm it.
@@paulcoonce2493 Exactly, I say go for it though, and worse case scenario going to an exhaust shop to have it fit right. I ended up going with a Flowmaster (817519) and that fit okay, minus the last hanger bracket doesn't work for my truck with a tow package, so I have to get a custom bracket mounting point added in. Other than that, it sounds pretty good, didn't want anything to loud.
Got same truck same camper shell my muffler is also rusting out only part on whole truck with rust
Nice! They are getting more rare for sure. Checkout my other vids!
Where did you get your camper shell I can’t find one anywhere
I kept scouring marketplace on facebook and craigslist. I see them from time to time. If you are on facebook, subscribe to Tacoma groups....
If you have interest in selling it….
:) My son is loving driving it....and so do I! A bit different from the F350....more fun off road!
Sounds wicked
Thanks.
any issues with the leaf spring?
None at this point. Anything in particular you were looking for?
@@ModernCountryLiving just checking to see if the contact between it and the muffler had any unintended consequences over time.
Ahh...ok. I got it adjusted so it doesn't touch. All good. Thanks. @@TexanTemplar
@@ModernCountryLivingSo how did you get it adjusted where the leaf spring wouldn't touch?
@@bf7710 I kept fiddling with it. I think I adjusted the one hanger a bit too.
my truck is almost identical to yours my friend and I fully redid it last year do you have a social media I could show you?
I do. I am on Facebook. Shawn Gross
@@ModernCountryLiving i wasn't able to find you.
