Wow, very seldom you see somebody using and posting about a modern Sheaffer, I have the carbon fiber version of the Intensity but I don't use it that much because it's a medium and draws a line too wide for my tiny handwriting, recently I ground the nib of a Sheaffer Pop into a needle point, if it fits in the Intensity probably I'll revive it. Yours looks fantastic in that trim, kudos to your grandpa 👍
Very nice selections, and I'm so glad you're using your grandfather's pen. It is a fine pen, and a personal treasure. I also find that having only 4 pens inked is more manageable . . . not that I can resist having more. But, I write a lot at home, too. For work, I actually only keep 3 inked to carry.
Thank you for the wonderful comment. I quickly realised having too much inked up can cause issues with ink drying faster so I always stick with 4. It allows me to appreciate the pen more.
Yh it is a great pen for signing documents. I love the craftsmenship of it. I have heard of issues with the posting difficulties. Mine have been ok in that aspect.
I like the Faber-Castell Filler. I possess a couple of GvFB Classic. They are excellent writers. Those Kilk pens are very beautiful, I'll get a couple of them this year. The Oriental looks are stunning!
I love my Faber Castell, and I actually enjoy the weight of it. I’ve tried several Lamys, Pilots, and even a Montblanc (which is actually my least favorite), but I always go back to the FC. Actually have two right now with different inks, and I’m considering getting a third for another purpose. In personal writing, I go with various different colors depending on mood. General professional writing I always go with a greyish blue. I’m thinking of adding a red for markups and reviews.
I have the same Kilk. It is gorgeous. I am not crazy about their nibs as they run fine. I got a broad on another one of their pens and it's okay but got a medium on this one and it's way too fine for me. I'm going to try and replace the nib because the pen is really unique!
I am finding Kilk is realising more interesting designs nowadays true to turkish and arabic artistic styles. But an issue I have noted is the novo baroque feels very light and bit cheap for the price it is being sold at. What helps me overlook it is as you said the uniqueness of the pen.
“Bit of skipping there, don’t know what happened”, well what happened is it’s a Jinhao and its always dubious quality control. I’ve never had a Jinhao that didn’t skip or dry, some might say a skip here and there is no big deal, for me it is and is quite annoying. I don’t mind using a cheap Preppy or Kakuno, those things never skip, and they rarelly dry. Heck , even other cheap chinese pens like Kaco pens just write, flawlessly.
My 9 Jinhao’s ( 4 x450, 5 x750) have been great writers over the three years I have owned, them. I guess I got lucky. The Jinhao nibs are great and other nibs like a Knox BB, a long knife and various Goulet and Anderson Pen nibs have all done very well. Shinner inks have not been a problem and I love to experiment with mixing my own inks in these inexpensive pens. They fit in well with my Kaweco, Platinum, Pelikan, sailor and independent PE maker pens. I agree about the E-motion, wha an impressive nib to write with.
@@Rgc571 goulet nibs are Jowo, delightful. Same nibs, for example on TWSBIs and Leonardo Officina Italiana pens. Maybe I have had bad luck with my Jinhaos, but none of them (I own 8) has written flawlessly without having to correct the flow (one of them didn’t even write without pressure and I always wash thoroughly any new pen) most of the times tines come too tight, is a quick and easy tune but is a tune nevertheless. Never have had a problem with Moonman, PenBBS, Kaco, Kaigelus and Hongdians of any nib size, heck I even like those Hongdian and moonman nibs better than some in-house nibs of pricier pens like stipulas, narwhals or gravitas pens I have, they just write and write, not the nicest writers but zero skips whatsoever, not even small ones no matter the ink: shimmers, sheeners, pigmented inks, they take it all.
@oscarcalva2189 Wow, only the first Jinhaos I bought around 2017 have given me issues, the rest are just flawless, I have never counted how many I have but I believe it's around 35 and a lot of spare nibs I use to grind needlepoints and stubs (architects too but I don't like their line). Narwhal is my favorite brand, their nibs are way better than Jowo in my experience, so far I have 7 pens and 3 spare nibs, sometimes they find their way in the only Leonardo I have 😅

I have that exact Faber castell. It is beautiful. But very heavy at close to 50 grams. I don't use it for long writing. Plus the cap doesn't post

The Faber Castell its beautiful!!
It's a great pen! Really has not let me down with skipping. Great ink flow too.
My favorite is the pear wood.@@TheInkquestReviews

Yh a lot of people have liked the kilk pen. It's quite unique. Might add few more Faber Castell fountain pens to my collection soon.
Kilk is gorgeous 😍 i really love the color and the aesthetic! I should check out your review video of it soon 😊
Haha yes it was my first video. Hope you like it!

It's a fantastic pen with good weight. Definately looks fantastic and there are so many varieties of this pen.
I have a Schaeffer that I bought 50 years ago and it is just as dependable. I love it.
Curious to know what Shaeffer you have?

Shearer Intensity - one of my. Favorites too - my Intensity ballpoint is over 20 years old.
It works very well. I have been on the lookout for more shaeffer's pens
That Kilk is fire 🔥

Yh I can imagine that is the case with Jinhao's. Its getting what you pay for end of the day.
@@TheInkquestReviews no doubt, but I have cheaper pens that write better.
