Great video I have been using a S6 P2 E10 C3 I1 L5 making the most of lone wanderer and solar powered and strong back to make up for the problems with carry weight and using power armour to take the least amount of damage and can still increase damage with rifleman or heavy gunner and bloody mess
Unfortunately, Aqua is not an option in survival. It has no effect on mitigating illness probability. So swimming increases infection probability. This should be changed. Since the perk is meant for safe play in water. Also it seems worth it to put points into perception for lockpicking. No matter what do not. I mean absolutely do not sit there building shelves or doing anything abnormal to level up. That is just so beyond absurd. Like way beyond absurd. Just play the game and play carefully. Yes it is really dangerous at lower level. But there still lots of legit content you can do to progress. Always play the game itself in terms of activities that are interesting and never ever go too far out of your way to gain exp. Most definitely do not do silly crap for leveling unless you already beat the game and want to power level. Yes I also use 2 guns. The 10mm i is good but terrible with automatic receiver. Sure to account of bullets lost. So I use the pipe. Hunter rifle can be found early during Concord mission. Butis really heavy. The pipe action bolt is another option worth considering.
I personally feel a challenge run shouldn’t allow the XP cheesing in Sanctuary, particularly given how level scaling works in early areas (enemies will be little babies compared to a lvl 13 player). That’s just my opinion, though.
Good video, but I disagree with some of your choices... first I dont think armour is that important for damage reduction. In survival you usually dies to missiles, nukes or mines- not gunshots. Second, I wouldnt go for a pistol build. They use up too much ammo, and rifles gives you that vital range. And last, I dont like you spamming xp by basebuilding. It feels a bit like cheating, since you can basically create a god, safe at home in Sanctuary.
I agree Like c'mon 9 agility and 3 strength for armorer that early is bad idea I dunno how this build is even playable without idiot savant and only 3 int.
Totally agree. Spam building shelves, water purifiers, then cages at sanctuary will bring you to level 100 with no effort on any difficulty and ruins the game.

endurance is only relevant in the late game, you only need Agi 7 for ninja. I recommend atleast 6 Int for chemist once you get the bubblehead in the library and atleat 3 per so you can get lockpicking once you get the bubblehead in concord. just like endurance, luck and char are really useful in the late game. I personally like investing on luck for critical perks for sniper builds and investing on charisma later on for local leader and party boy for melee and non-sniper gun builds

I did a lot of different permadeath runs in various builds. But if you know what to do, you always become a bulletsponge jack of all trades in the end. So I've made 3 basic rules that put the game and thus the challenge to a next level, play myself like this. 1)Survival, Premadeath; 2)NO NAMED LEGENDARIES are allowed, including those from quests, vendors or fixed drps, eg. a weapon from Swan, etc. 3)SPECIALS can be boosted ONLY with bobbleheads and a book, you're NOT ALLOWED to put any +to specials with lvlups. This all makes the game more challenging, you have to think over the build/weapons you're gonna use and it makes item-hunting even more rewarding.
Why do people prioritise gun nut? You can literally find gun mods for that tier of weapon all over the place as quickly as you can obtain them with the perk. Would rather idiot savant perk.
Why do the challenge of survival perma death and cheese to a comfortable level first? I’m about to head into the glowing sea, using sneak and power armor seems safest. The mods you build can be a life saver, like thermal vision helmet.
This is defintly not how you should play permadeath you shoul should get something like 6 str 1 per 6 end 3 cha as much intlegance as you can and thats about it you use power armor and try to get the oversears guaridan as fast as posible you use rifleman cus thats op and lone wandrer if you watch some of the meta survival players like french tomhawk you will know how op this is and how easy it is to pull off
If you're going to start off by telling people to 'Speed Level' by simply spamming build/scrap mechanics, they may as well install a mod such as Scrap Everything or use the Console or a .bat file to fill their Workstation with everything they'll ever need to speed level all the way and unlock all Perks/max-out all SPECIAL skills before they've even left Sanctuary!
Good video, but I'd like to propose an alternative. Since you're not prioritizing the high END or AGI perks, I'd suggest a few changes: S 2(3) P 1 E 7 C 3 I 7 A 7 L 1 By making these alterations, you allow the use of the Chemist perk with its many benefits. First of all, with Chemist, you can make Poisoned Caltrops... many, many of them, allowing you to earn XP just as fast as shelves without feeling like an exploit. Second, those Caltrops can then be sold to vendors in return for Shipments of Steel, allowing you to make more Caltrops and so on. Third, Chemist allows you to make Antibiotics, a very necessary item in Survival. Finally, the higher INT will also mean faster levelling overall. Other than this, your build seems very solid; I'll have to try it out.
I play fallout 4 exclusively on survival mode and I rarely ever get more than 4 points in endurance. It’s basically a dump stat and not a great return on investment. Survival is all about either avoiding conflicts or hitting so hard your enemies can’t react (sneak manipulation too).
Great video, but from my experience, I’d disagree. The easiest survival permadeath run I’ve done was a no-sneak build. I had agility 2 (for commando. Otherwise it would have been at 1). Put Endurance to 10, then 11 with the special book and up to 12 eventually with the bobblehead to maximize health. I put up INT to 7 for chemist, because being on a constant drip of psychobuff and bufftats makes you super tanky, especially when combined with ballistic weave. The build was so strong by end game that I defeated the mechanist while standing in place and never moving, and could take a point-blank hit from a mini nuke while taking hardly any damage (yes, on survival difficulty)
I see where you're coming from. Melee can be alot of fun. Not really my personal preference, but I totally see the merits of it. However if you are gonna be playing a melee build, I strongly recommend using the Mysterious Serum that you get from the Cabot family questline too. The +5 strength, and +50 damage resistance is excellent, if you don't already know about that. Thanks for watching. Cheers!
@@ChrisTheKey_ The build I used was actually an automatic weapons build. The psychobuff and bufftats were mainly for boosting HP. I found a never ending 10mm pistol during the run, which is insanely fun with an automatic receiver. Edit: I have done a melee only build, and while it ended up being powerful, it definitely wasn’t the easiest permadeath run I’ve done. Melee at the beginning of the game can be pretty challenging, but it is a lot of fun. I think the melee run took me 5 attempts to do. The no-sneak Commando run I did first try.
Great... There are many different ways to successfully do permadeath runs. I basically agree with Super Twonky about the super tanky builds being easier than the super sneaky runs. A no-hit permadeath is a different beast though because a super tanky build is based on being able to take some damage.
I totally get your perspective. And obviously best is subjective considering all the different ways you can go about the game. I personally don't play much Melee, but I know how fun that can be. @@SuperTwonky I don't think I was talking exclusively about a melee character either... just a character designed to survive taking some damage as opposed to a no-hit character, where avoiding all forms of damage is the greater priority. i got to say, i'm not a big fan of your pics for perk load out. first off i don't use endurance hardly at all it's almost useless even on survival those points are better spent in perception and intelligence. using power armor from the start is the safer build for permadeath, so you would want an intelligence of 9 from the start for the nuclear physicist to extend fusion core life. but if you don't want power armor thats cool. i do agree that companions on survival are a nuisance.
