I can just about remember when you could still walk down Mile Road, then gradually access to the site became more and more restricted, which was great for us kids, as we had the whole site pretty much to ourselves. Such great adventures in there. As a kid, a site that big took a lot of exploring.

Although I love what they are doing around this area, as you say I did love exploring as a kid around here.

Is Mile Road still accessible Marq?? used to walk up there years ago! Also we called all that the 'sewage farm' .....we used to access it from Beddington Lane (before asda was built) and Beddington Park and go over there and ride the gypsy horses that used to be there...great fun....great days...that was before they fenced it all off...then obviously we found a 'hole' in the fence lol!!! The one thing about living in Beddington was the stench from the sewage farm!!!!

I remember those days well and being able to explore the area without 'elf and safety' poking it's unwarranted head in. Great times.

Can you still walk up Mile Road...all the way from Hackbridge to Beddington Lane or did they block it off??

The stench was really bad at times as I recall.
