This is *hands down* one of my favorite instrumentals of all time, Jamie!...One that truly showed off the musical aficionados this band was made off - from the *best* era of Metallica!
Bach and Beethoven would have adored the soul clenching suspension in this piece!...With each section building and bringing on more ominous anticipation than the one before...
And your rendition, Jamie?...
Brilliant foreboding write, met with your easy patience, cleanest of arpeggios, and kissed with those unexpected crystalline harmonics?...😏👌
As always, that Timberline gives more haunting grip to an already menacing melody! Tho it blows minds with full orchestra?...you putting it all on and thru this particular solitary instrument?...it gives it a lone wolf vibe of suspense from intro thru master finish.
Fantastically creative arrangement and choices with all effects and layering, JD! Terrific atmospheric build! Loved the milder percussive elements too (expressly proportionate to the size in sound of your remake.) And I think Cliff would have smiled wide - seeing/hearing what you did with the bassline.😎
You tied each section of this comp together beautifully - one simply gliding thru and melding seamlessly into the next.
This was no small feat to tackle!
So much musical artistry and expression put out with painstaking effort in this package, Jamie!

I’m always amazed that all the different sounds and notes are all played by you alone. Often it sounds like you have an entire band with you. You are a genius.

The haunting buildup of this orchestrated masterpiece originally by Megadeth front man Dave Mustaine, which also is the big inning to Hangar 18 follows the writing of the book to an absolute perfect pitch!
The Harmonic Minor, Mixolydian, and Aolian scales are what give that creepy, hanging, not quite full feeling that gives goosebumps each and every time
