Hi Doug. I enjoy your vlog. In your intro, the information you give away, like losing most hands to seat 1 acts as a spoiler for the video and makes it less fun to watch knowing what's going to happen. I say this not to be critical but but just to give you feedback from a viewer's perspective.
Thanks Brian, I do appreciate the feedback and take no offense what so ever. You make a very good point and I will keep that in mind for future vlogs. Feedback like this is what makes the channel better! Thanks for watching and the feedback.
I noticed you bet nearly all nut flush draws. It's good to keep some as checks to protect your checking range when the flush gets there. Otherwise you never have the nut flush when you check flop, and opponents can exploit that.
Thanks Bryan, bad days happen, bad play shouldn’t. I need to get better at handling bad runs and avoiding tilt. Appreciate your thoughts and thanks for watching.
Thanks Vito, I ran poorly but most of my displeasure is with how bad my game was. Normally, I would squeak out a small win or a minor loss. The AJ hand I missed an obvious tell I constantly look for. Caught it during editing. Would have saved 180 if I saw it. AK was bad, that’s a clear fold even with his wide range.
Nice vlog, yah have to mix up your pre flop raise amounts. $25 with a pair $16 with a good hand. Yah have to mix it up and be unpredictable... it’s ok to raise to $30 with a good hand and $15 with a pair. Gota be unpredictable... nice vlog...subbed
Thanks Mike for the advice, normally my sizing is better, and being unpredictable is the goal. Will work on that area of my game. Thanks for subbing, if you see me going off course, feel free to straighten me out.
@@dougmccuskerpoker ima give you advice I just added to my game after 10 years . Pre flop raise beats the opponents mentally before the flop arrives. Be more aggressive pre flop and don’t worry about your cards. If somew got a made hand you’ll know they come over the top Everytime. It also helps if you play same people because you can steal hands from tight players everytime with nothing. Try this .... your button cards in hand suck... $15 raise predlop 3 callers .. MAKE IT $65... Unless someone’s got aces they all folding. Caller? After flop checks to you bet $65 unless they are loaded they fold. 90% take it preflop of after flop. Try it my friend! Change your game like I have and become a winner 9-10 sessions.

Couple questions ! Does the casino not mind you filming the game with a phone ? And also if not, how do you even remember the pot sizes/ best sizes from other people ?
Some casinos don’t like it when you film, Thunder Valley and Capitol Casino do not have an issue with it. Free publicity for the casino, I try not to ever show people’s faces and not call people by name. Need to respect their privacy. I also use a notepad to jot down info about the hand, stack and other information.
Sometimes these kinds of games happen. Keep up your aggressive game against action players / calling stations. Don't try to bluff them in the river, as they will call you no matter what. Just found your channel and subscribed. I'm an old geezer just like you so I think I will enjoy this. As far as this session, when you keep getting kicked in the dick it's hard to raise with any small pair or Ace-Face and feel confident that the flop will favor you. Been there way too many times. Very frustrating. Hopefully you can turn it around next time.
It seems to me that at times one seat will hold over another set, independent of whoever is sitting in the chairs. After a few occurrences (when it gets to be a running joke) simply changing seats or even changing tables can make a difference. I enjoy your vlog.
Thanks Josh, I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Playing with you was enjoyable and frustrating at the same time, you definitely had my number. I’m sure our paths will cross again. Hopefully I will be playing better for my bankroll’s sake.
I played mostly at that one table, I did play at 2 other tables but was card dead. I wasn’t playing well and running poorly, should have went home sooner than I did. But it’s hard leaving when the action is good.
Hey Doug! Under the law of large numbers. A player playing in a wide range loses in the long run. 68? Such people cannot be defended. He doesn't care what kind of card he has in his hand. The point is, he's in the game. This is addictive .....
He played most hands, I’m sure he folded a few, but when raised he defended. He limped from the button for 3 and called a 25 bet with weak hands. It’s not a winning strategy unless you are crushing the poor vlogger in the seat next to you. He did lose as you might expect, but I was not a recipient. Thanks for watching, and the comment.
Record using my phone and a notepad. Hardest part is editing, you spend 2 hours for every hour played. I’m getting faster now, but still about 1:1. Good luck if you go down that road.
16:31 is a great time to slow play top pair. You have the board virtually locked up. You arent afraid of any card on the turn or river except maybe a 5, 3, 2 or a 7. And the heart ones give you a flush draw. And the pairs wont call two barrels. They might over bluff here with trash like Jx or Qx if you think your opponent is very aggressive. I do think you played it well, just offer a different line of thought.
I thought of slowing down that hand, both lines have merit. I was getting looked up very often so I took the aggressive line. Appreciate the feedback and thanks for watching.

I try to keep my raises balanced with position and number of players. I had trouble finding a proper amount for this game because they were calling all my raises no matter the size. When you don’t showdown some winning hands, your opponents are emboldened to make loose calls. If you can’t make a hand it sucks.
I'm curious if this was the only table running at the time? I think after an hour (or less) I would have changed tables. It might have snapped you back to reality and certainly would keep you from playing tilted. If there were no other choices, then maybe go home or take a break.
I should have, but the way he was playing, it was a matter of time until things changed. He went bust, but I didn’t get anything. I changed tables after he left, but was card dead for the next hour before calling it a day.

When you’ve got the nut OESD and back door flush draw why are you raising to get heads up? If you don’t believe your bluff will get through to take down the pot then you should want as many players in there as possible to make the pot bigger. Either you are going to hit your card or you aren’t.
Maybe my thinking is wrong, trying to build a pot and buy position on what I expected to be a weak hand. As it turned out, he was either trapping with a strong hand or made 2 pair on the turn.
