Glad the company listened to the consumers… this was how the decked system should have been designed in the beginning. Looks great and functional.
That looks great! I haven't purchased a system yet as I didn't like the space that was limiting in the old drawer system but this looks like it will work for me the best! Great work!
Did anyone else have the problem where the drawer doesn’t fit? It rides too high and hits the top deck and doesn’t close/open without a lot of force. I disassembled and reassembled a large portion but haven’t been able to fix it. I also noticed that the some of the steps in this video and instruction manual are different, but I don’t think that effected anything. I have a 2019 Ford Ranger.
Waiting on feedback from Decked now.
Smack the weather stripping down with a rubber mallet, mine wasn't seated all the way and I had same issue. That fixed it for me
My drawer system was a pain in the ass. The instructions were decent but did leave out some stuff like. When building the big ass box make sure the sides are flush with the back and the aluminum bottom might slide forward causing the drawer box to be bigger than expected. I had to take that thing apart 3 times to realize the rails slid forward during the big box installation. Long story short got it done and now I love it. It was worth the pain
Yes, I installed mine today and am having this exact issue. I actually had to remove the weatherstripping completely to properly close the drawer. Also waiting on some assistance from Decked's service team.
EDIT:
I emailed the Decked service team and they got back to me very quickly. Within 7 days I had a new updated drawer face. I had already trimmed my original one with the Dremel so the replacement is currently sitting in the garage. I cannot speak to the fitment of the replacement but the customer service response was excellent.
@@bradanderson5494 I realized that you have to slam the drawer pretty hard to get the box to close after the first install. I think that's because it's new. It's been about a week now and it closes fine with the weather stripping. I had the same issue. My suggestion is push it hard to close and after a few times it will get worn in and it'll be smooth like butter.
@@veritasluxmea76Good to hear. Thanks for sharing your experience. Hopefully mine goes the same.
The screws at 6:14 were not included in the drawer HW bag. . . or maybe it is the next set that is not in the drawer HW bag. Instructions leave plenty of guess work to do. Not quite as bad as most Chinese instructions, but close.
Will this fit in a 2024 Tacoma Trailhunter?
Where can I get the replacement screws with gaskets. I have a older model and all my gaskets wire out and need replacement
For those installing on a 2023 Canyon, you will have tonget shorter turnbuckle for the ones nearest the cab. Only thing that didn't work out for me. But ....
For the price you pay for this thing and the size box it comes in, it really could come pre-assemble with everything but the the 2 wing portion and the bars that you insert into.
That'd be a pretty penny for shipping costs!
@@Decked the box it came in is bigger than decked system.....
I have already bought one for my Gladiator last year. I am glad yall ditched the 2 drawers for midsize as there is a lot of wasted space that could have been used. Plus the added cubby to the front, also a lot of wasted space that could have been used on the older models. Its always my luck, I buy something, then a new more usable model comes out.
I am thinking about breaking out my sawzall to cut and add piano hinges to the front of the bed so I can use that space that is wasted in front of the wheel well on the gladiator.
Shoot us an email at Social@DECKED.com! We may have a solution for ya!
Just got mine delivered today. Plan to do it in my 3rd gen Tacoma. Anyone with Tacomas have any tips when installing?
Awful tbh can’t seem to figure out a fucking way to get the backplate on
@@Gigagoose1I was able to install mine pretty easy. Did you install it on the ground?
What do you mean by this? Shoot Service@DECKED.com an email so we can assist!
I just finished installing the 2.0 on my new Jeep Gladiator. I gently used my impact driver on level one with no issues. Perfect storage system for my overland camping setup on my channel. My wife helped with the lifting, and it didn’t result in a blowout fight. So, it’s an easy lift. Overall, excellent quality kit for my needs.
My drawer doesn't close with the weather strip installed...
Same here, I tapped it with a rubber mallet to make sure it was seated all the way down, that fixed mine.
Shoot us an email! We've got a fix for you! Service@DECKED.com!
Already have y'all told me to take it off it works without it lol
@@Longster4U…..Hey! Did you figure out anything else besides taking the weatherstripping off? I’m having the same issue.
@@justinsmith9889Did you get your drawer to close properly?
Real men don’t read instructions we just have leftover screws 😂
Nailed it 😂
Get a different guy
Installing in the texas summer 🫠 dear god, that was miserable. 😅
The written instructions are decent vut could definitely be improved, would like to see an explided view of the screw or bolt that goes along with the installation step. Mines already put together and i really like it.
Can a fit a golf bag in the pull out drawer for the midsize? Looking for a solution to dragging my golf bag in and out of my gladiator bed.
I have a 22 Nissan Frontier. Is it true that I cant use my existing bed tiedowns and would have to drill my bed and install nutserts to mount the decked system? Why cant I use my factory tiedowns? Wrong location? The thought of drilling the bed is stopping me from purchasing.
We use the factory tie downs in your bed. Some Frontiers do not have cabside tie downs. Therefore you'll have to drill holes to add them
There is no reason to lay on your back to install screws towards the end. I just flipped the box over and put mine in.
When someone starts off an instructional video with "In a world with crappy instructions" I feel that, and I know I'm in for some good instructions. Nice.
