    I was very touched when Doris Day cried at the end about her friend Rock Hudson. Elizabeth Taylor did the same in her tribute to Montgomery Clift.

    this was probably her last effort in the world of entertainment. she'd been thoroughly retired and doggedly out of the limelight by then. her sweet friendship to Hudson reminds me of Liz Taylor's friendship to Montgomery Clift.

    Written On The Wind, he was FANTASTIC in this one, and of course, his films with Doris Day and Giant...

    He became better in acting as he got older. Watch Written in the wind and All that heaven allows.

      I saw both films twice, Magnificent Obsession too, The Tarnished Angels as well, also directed by Douglas Sirk, Robert Stack and Dorothy Malone were in this as well, and of course his 3 films with Doris Day, all brilliant films

      @@ΠαναγιωτηςΚαρλιωτης-θ7τ Please don't forget about "Never say goodbye", "Farewel to arms"( which is for me a great movie and Rock Hudson created here one of his best roles. I'm totally disapointed, that he didn't get Golden Globe and Oscar for this creation.), "Twilight for the gods" and "Spiral road", which are also excellent movies.

      @@greeneyes8313 I have seen only The Spiral Road from all these films you mentioned and it was alright, I have seen the original A Farewell To Arms, haven't seen the Rock Hudson film with the same title yet, but I will give it a shot just because Rock is in it, the film wasn't well received by the critics, haven't seen Never Say Goodbye and Twilight For The Gods yet

      @@ΠαναγιωτηςΚαρλιωτης-θ7τ Ok. I understand. 🙂I recommend you to watch all his movies, if you have of course that possibility. I've seen most of pictures with him, few times each of them and I'm totally fascinated by Rock Hudson's acting and personality. You've mentioned about critics, their opinions are completely unfair, superficial and harmful. Please don't guided by them, but watch attentively movies with Rock Hudson.😉

    4 decades? How could he have had a career spanning 4 decades, when he started at 24 and sadly passed away at age 59? Loved him a lot, but that number doesn't add up, Ms Day.

      Sunflower Watermelon Sugar High His career starting in the 50's then continue through the 60's 70's and 80's
      Does that not mean 4 Decades ?????

    • @blue7cat10
      @blue7cat10 4 года назад +3

      gilbertblaze Aha, I see how it is meant. English is my 4th language, so spanning means over THE decades not his own personal life decades. Thanks 👍.
      Such a beautiful person. Have watched every single movie with Rock Hudson even though they were made way before my time.
