    It was great to meet up with you both. We all had a lovely time and you added three more subscribers - so win win😊 Good to see some rain at last. We are currently in emergency drought conditions. Just had one day of rain since Christmas. I took the moto guzzi mandelo out for a test ride a few months ago and it was on my shortlist. Cracking engine but the ride was too firm and my legs too cramped for my liking and I ended up a really sore back afterwards. Love the channel.

      Thanks Nigel. Glad you had some rain, it was really dry when we were there. They were clearing out a lot of trees around Begur I assume to reduce the risk of fire. I did like the Mandello 100 lovely bike bit still a bit modern for me now. I think the BSA has some legs still, it's the natural progression from my little Meteor 😄😄. Ideally I'd have both bikes... One day...

    I steer clear of Vespas in showrooms ... I'm worried that I might just fall in love with one and buy it.

      Yes even the 125cc bikes are lovely. I imagine I'll have one when we have the space to store it someday...

    Hi again Sean- First time I've seen Suzie, so I'd like to say hi to her. I owned a Vespa 300, but it wasn't my cup of tea. I do currently own (2) Moto Guzzi's which I really love. I recently (10) month's ago purchased a 2022 Kawasaki W800. Riding that bike is really a hoot! Sidenote: I had brought your channel up to another Brit who also love's his BSA. He was the one who told me that you were now living in Spain. His name is Michael & his channel name goes by (Bankrupt Pensioner). He really is a swell old chap. I better end here as I am getting to lengthy. That was a fun video & I thank you. You & your Mrs. have a beautiful day! Illinois, USA

      Hi Larry thanks for the comment. I do know bankrupt pensioner a little bit he's been on here a few times. He also had a BSA that he bought secondhand like me. I think he's getting along well with it! I'll tell Suzie you said hello, she loves hearing from and speaking to people on here, it's a nice group and a nice community. I just uploaded another video with some more riding footage that hopefully you like. Thanks 🙏👍

    Love those Triumph Thunderbird 900s! I have always wanted one, and coincidentally have been watching “The Bristol Thunderbird” channel, this week, where he rides down to Turkey and back. The Thunderbird, a W650/W800, and the mid 90s/early 2000s Honda Magna are the bikes I keep coming back to.

    • @MindfulMotorcyclist

      My Dad specifically wanted an older bike that was classical styled. He read a magazine article in which the engine was described as a 'squadron of Lancaster bombers taking flight' and I don't think it has disappointed! He also looked at the America as well but the Tbird won the day. The plus side is bikes from the 90s are now fully depreciated, you won't lose any more money. I think parts are hard to find but then on a brand new bike you can't get parts these days 😕. I'd love an older bike as well one day, although I've only known fuel injection bikes so carbs are a bit alien to me 😂.

    Good one guys great natural vibe on your channel and your dad's Thunderbird looks great I don't know why Triumph stopped making them to be honest they look so good . So no offers for you to do some test rides I can't believe that Suzie didn't win them all over 🤣.👌👍

      Hi Crumbly, thanks a lot for the support. We are very new to 'vlogging' so not sure exactly how it's done 😂. My Dads bike is lovely, probably if I'm honest a little heavier than I'd prefer but then I've not ridden it yet. He's over the moon with it however. I'll have a ride in the summer I expect. We didn't have the heart to ask for a test ride, ask we are not going to buy any bike there it feels a little disingenuous. Perhaps we go back to Mr Kawasaki as he was the friendly chap of the bunch! Thanks 🙏

    Like your dad's Triumph, very nice. Had a K100 RS, known as the flying brick, in the eighties, its build quality was very disappointing, it was heavy low down and i soon sold it. Never bought another BMW since.

      That's weird when BMW mess up on build quality, reminds me of Freddie's video where his honda press bike wouldn't start 😂. It's very unexpected. I remember reading that Suzuki went through a phase where things weren't bolted together all that well either...

    Evening guys great vid good trawle of the local emporiums the Reiju are big in France and Spain mainly for 50 & 125 motards n trails, their new twin is a cracking bit as well it looks great in red, love the Guzzi’s, you ought to big a test ride on the Vespa GTS you may be impressed, especially away from the light in traffic a little addictive, The MV Augusta’s are so well put together and dripping in quality cycle parts and soooo bloody expensive, …. Pete🇫🇷

    • @MindfulMotorcyclist
      @MindfulMotorcyclist  5 месяцев назад +1

      I like the Reiju, shame they don't import into the UK. The UK market seems to be a bit of an outlier compared to the rest of Europe. What is available but also what people are buying seems quite different. I would really like a scooter of some description, I imagine I'll get one when we are settled and hopefully 🙏🤞 have room for two bikes. Following on from your other comment have you got a motorcycle tour trip planned this year then? Cheers, Sean

      @@MindfulMotorcyclist Hi guys, yes it’s quite a different riding culture over here, in my bit of France I haven’t been able to find a bike meet like Pool and West Bay or Weston super mare, in my bit of France it seems to be more small groups, ride until lunch then ride a bit more, there are lots of big organised rides, like the RE club, but not my thing, but very popular, the on road commaderie is great,everybody acknowledges each other a low 2 finger wave, and a dangled leg as your passed, and if your at the side of the road a biker will pull over to offer assistance, sport bikes have died the death over here like the uk, but what I call roadsters rule the roost, unfaired bikes, yam MT’s Bandits Honda CB’s and retro classics, and big singles motards trailies and a lot of cruisers. Nothing concrete have a loose plan to visit the U boat pens Lorient way and a meet up with the chap I did the D-day beaches with, and of course we’re still exploring on our own front door, so much to see and so many great roads right here 🤣🤣🤣 …. In my so far limited experience, I find going into motorbike showrooms fraught with danger 😮 Always best to leave your wallet with a responsible adult (if you know any of course) 😂 You also happen across models that haven't been on your radar before which makes it all the more exciting and can never wait to search up reviews on RUclips. That Moto Guzzi did look very appealing, but then again so did the Eliminator (can't help but hear the Terminator theme tune every time). On the subject of Scooters, it's on my wish list for when I can own a property with a garage, they're just too cool, though admittedly, being in Europe helps, the sun has to be out for that ride 😎 Your Dad has great taste with his Thunderbird, really looking forward to your review on that bike and further reviews courtesy of Mid West Moto, it's not exactly on my doorstep but still worthy of a day trip down there for me.

    • @MindfulMotorcyclist
      @MindfulMotorcyclist  5 месяцев назад

      Thanks Lee, yes I agree with the Eliminator comment. There's something about it that is more than the sum of the parts. I've not ridden it so can't comment fully but I did really like it. Is the Eliminator the bike Arnie rides in T1 through the tunnel when chasing Kyle and Sarah? Oh yes I'm beginning to want a scooter too, I also need to find somewhere with storage options though, it's such a pain not having that. Current place is great, but not permanent. Oh by the way I managed to leave those show rooms without spending anything, very proud of that haha. Thanks, Sean

    TBird 900 is a good bike but parts are getting hard to find now and expensive - I have one

    • @MindfulMotorcyclist
      @MindfulMotorcyclist  5 месяцев назад

      I think he's finding that out. The rear seat backrest for my mum to use was £450 new, he saw one on eBay cheap but of course as time progressed the bids came in thick and fast, it ended quite expensive. There is also a bracket broken that has a dodgy repair that is NLA. Overall though it's a very well made bike, seems over engineering was the order of the day for triumph on this... Thanks

    Something like this? CST C6017 Motorcycle Tyre

    • @MindfulMotorcyclist
      @MindfulMotorcyclist  5 месяцев назад +1

      Hi Lumpy, I did look at the CST and it's a good option very well priced one of the few that is available in 100/90 R18 & 150/70 R17. I suspect a good tyre without the prices of a brand name, I did almost go for it but. I've ended up with something a little more aggressive on the tread pattern. I had Metzler Tourance on my previous bike and in mud they were useless. I think CST might be not far from those tyres. I don't ride fast or sporty in the slightest so I can afford to not have a tyre that is road orientated. Will be a while before they are fitted as will be getting them from the UK.

    100 % illegal in the UK, a few years ago someone got taken to court for eating an apple 😒
    The police class it as driving without due care and attention.
    Not illegal in the states and you can even get drink holders for your handlebars.
    Luv the channel guys.
