I've bought two scooters from Vespa Portland. Each time, everyone there made me feel super welcome and helped me with everything I needed. Everyone there seems to ride their own scooter or motorcycle and are very involved with the two- and three-wheeled community in the Portland area. I can't recommend this place enough.
During a real sale we would put a 90-day temp permit on the scooter while the customer waits for their real license plate in the mail. In a video like this however, we're not gonna bother putting a plate on.
Already done this 4 times in the last 18 months. GTS, Liberty 150, and 2 Primaveras. Each time it was like a kid in a candy store. I can't believe I watched this one all the way through. Just realized I had a big smile on my face!!!!!
We may do a different video for a test ride. Oddly a lot of people don’t even bother taking one. 😆 He says why he picked the scooter when he sits down but we had a line in there about how the 150 was perfect for his needs because he wasn’t planning on going on longer trips. We just forgot to add it! Thanks for watching.
@@VespaPortlandI recently bought a motorcycle, and while I love it, it's really made me appreciate my GTS all the more. It brings a smile to my face every time I climb aboard.
We have a 946 bunny in stock but someone has been eyeing it. The dragon arrives sometime this year. If you’re in town, get in touch with Natasha at info@vespaportland.com.
I saw it the background of the video. Vespa should include the helmet and matching accessories for the 946's for the price they ask for them. Unfortunately, I am in New York. If I talk myself into one, I'm pretty sure my local dealer would find one. He puts out a lot of bikes. Thanks. Really good video BTW.@@VespaPortland
Really well done ! I'm from eastern Canada and I owned 30 motorcycles and scooters in my life so I'm used to all this stuff and procedures but let me tell you that your approach is really nice and seems so friendly I wish I was living in your area !!! ( P.S. I have a new unrestricted Primavera 50 that I love ! If I'm in a hurry I also have a 916cc Ducati 😄)
Thanks for watching! We try to keep it friendly because riding is supposed to be fun and we’re lucky enough to keep meeting very cool people who want scooters. Have fun on that Primavera and Ducati!
I should really do the math on this someday for each bike but I can tell you that on my two Vespas, a Primavera 150 with a 2.1 gallon tank and a Vespa GTS with a 2.3 gallon tank, no matter how I ride (surface streets or freeway) my low fuel light comes on around 120 miles on the trip odometer. At that point there’s a half gallon of gas left before actual empty. So probably another 35-40 miles worth of gas. Thanks for watching.
Less than half. Most people just swipe a credit card. But since everyone knows how to do that already we figured we’d show the finance process in the video. Thanks for watching!
Hello from Oregon. First step is to google nearby Vespa dealers. If you’re in Boston I think the option is Herb Chambers. Then just go in there and pick your favorite one. Good luck!
It’s a dumb name for what is essentially an electric vehicle reimbursement program. .5% of MSRP on any new vehicle sold in the state. Buy a Prius and get a rebate from the state? It came from this tax.
My favorite thing is when people come in and complain about it but then realize it subsidizes the electric or hybrid car they drove in on. Then it’s suddenly not complained about anymore.
He could ask that but chances are on a current model year bike there’s not going to be a discount. Consumers need to learn how to negotiate - asking the person who is selling an item “what’s the best you can do” is silly. The customer should always fire the first shot with an actual number that is realistic and then the dealer can accept or counter if they’re in the mood to play that game. Why would we negotiate against ourselves and hand out discounts for fun? Do customers ask for discounts like that at Walmart or Home Depot? If it doesn’t happen at large corporations why should a small business give away products for less than value?
Ha! The customer in this was an actor of sorts but Natasha just did her normal thing. This is almost exactly how buying a scooter from us looks in real life. Thanks for watching!
Still it's suicide to pay double digit interest and max insurance until paid off on a depreciating asset. I will wait another year until I have the money if I have to.@@VespaPortland

What a thorough, informative video! I have a Vespa and this captured all the basics, plus more, perfectly. Hello from Brooklyn!
Thanks for watching! It was hard to film. We had an eight page script. Hello from Portland!
Super helpful. Open up here in Boston :)

I need to stop by. Ive been contemplating the GTV for quite some time now.
We’ve got some! See you soon.

Around 75 depending on how you ride.

Donèt get financing on a depreciating asset! Insurance cost is going to be steep too. Pay cash! Whatès the out-the-door price FFS?
1. Not everyone has cash.
2. Insurance can be as low as $19 a month depending on your level of coverage.
3. Completely varies by bike.
I could afford a new Piaggio or Aprillia but I would have to go used on a Vespa. I'm in Quebec City.@@VespaPortland
