      Thank you for watching, and I am glad you enjoyed it! I am sure that with practice you will start noticing the elements of a landscape in your abstract watercolour washes 😊 And it is such fun to create those washes! Happy painting!

    Optimal serenity, watching you paint Anastasia! There are so many things I learn just watching your process. Favorites learned today: THE MOON ❤❤❤. The sailboats too. Watercolor is so magical even when you have a more controlled approach like I do (honestly I’m trying to loosen up😂) it still performs like magic. Watercolor just can’t help itself. It’s the most satisfying medium ever. Thank you for all you do. Blessings to you this Christmas Day, and a Glorious New Year in 2024!

    I love how you use the hake brush! My hake brush is old and not of the best quality; however, I've been using the mottler brush and it seems to do the job. And I watch your tutorials on a daily basis, even if I have seen them before... there is always something new to learn from them. In fact, I love your technique so much that I am now painting most of my watercolor landscapes using it. Thank you so much!!

      Thank you so much! I am so glad you are enjoying watching and rewatching my videos 😊 Mottler brush is a great alternative to hake, I do have one and I occasionally use it too as I love the straight lines it can create (my one is quite stiff). Happy painting!

    I'm returning to watercolor after a 40 year hiatus... been studying and learning from RUclips. I'm struggling to find my style. I think it might not be the florals and other themes now so popular... I'm searching for something else. I love structure and sound draftsmanship, but the paint and I are still fighting. They are pointless little battles that leave me feeling empty. I like this approach and will try it. I love doing landscapes. Thank you for a nice video... new sub. 👏

I love your style of painting. It’s so beautiful and restrained and…. I don’t even know all the adjectives to describe them…. They’re just gorgeous. Quick question though: what is the brush that you’re using in this video and a couple others, that you use with the white gouache to make the sun? Is that a filbert?

      Oh, thanks for narrowing that down. 😊The Princeton Neptune round size 4, ok … In the video, it looked like a firmer bristled Filbert… Every time I try to paint a naturally round moon or sun, in order to get it perfectly round, it keeps getting bigger and bigger and bigger ha ha ha anyway, thanks again for everything. I really appreciate you.❤

    • @AnastasiaMily
      @AnastasiaMily  22 дня назад

      It's perfectly normal that it buckles, it always does! I use paper blocks, the sheets of paper are stacked and gummed together on the sides, and I find that the paper buckles slightly less as it is already pre-stretched, but it still does. I have heard that 300lbs/640gsm cotton paper hardly buckles, but I haven't used it myself yet, I paint on 140lbs/300gsm.
