idk, there is something nice about your vibe.. i like this playmatte, the music and your way of talking! combined with such an nostalgic archtype, this video is really enoyable and calming to me :)
I have some suggestions. I love playing Red-Eyes, and it's one of those fun rogue decks. I have been working on a few different builds. One thing Red-Eyes lack is consistency. In my builds, I run 3 allure of darkness and 2 cards of the red stone. Before Red-Eyes Soul, there wasn't much reason to run Cards of the red stone, but now it's better to run now. I recommend dropping some of the one of cards you are playing. I would bump dragon's mirror down to 1, especially if you add draw support to the deck. I feel like the branded cards aren't needed, but if you want to make use of those, then you might want to add more to that engine since 1 Fallen of Albaz may not be enough. Red-Eyes does have a lot it can do, but I believe focusing on the burn part of the deck helps a lot. The fusion side of the deck is nice, but unfortunately, it restricts us, especially if our Red-Eyes Fusion plays get interrupted. My build has other plays in case the Fusion side fails. I've been playing Red-Eyes FTK, so there are times when the Red-Eyes Fusion gets negated. I run 2 of the Red-Eyes XYZ and the Odd-Eyes rebellion package. I also run Dragon links. Which are Striker Dragon and Guardragon Pisty, Heavenly Spheres, Dragunity Knight Romlus, Triple Burst Dragon, and Borrelsword. I think the cool part about Red-Eyes is the different ways this deck can be played.
I appreciate the comment! The lack of consistency is a thing. I do like the idea of running allure with red stone to combat that. The branded stuff seemed cool and I had fun with it but I am not sure its the way i want to play the deck. The burn elements the archetype offers is great. I think abusing that is how I want to play the deck. The FTK version is FUN but not too consistent i found. When i find some time, I might try the dragon link stuff like you mentioned!
@nostalgicnighthawk yeah that's fair. The ftk build is not the best, and the older builds for that aren't consistent. If you want to play for fun, then I recommend the ftk build. I can even send you my build for that so you have a basis. From playing test, the ftk build I have its focus is to kill the opponent in one turn, but if that fails, there are other lines of play that can get you the same result. Let me know if you want my build on that, and I'll gladly share. It's a 40 card deck, but I have been considering making it 45 to add 2 ash blossom, 2 cross-out, and 1 called by to stop ash since that card can stop us cold turkey.
@nostalgicnighthawk hey man. Here's the build for the Red-Eyes FTK deck that I've built. I can explain ratios as well if you like. The reason for Red-Eyes Insight at two here is due to the fact it has come up as a dead card in testing. It's great to search the spells we need but realistically most Red-Eyes decks only run a maximum of three to four Red-Eyes Spell or traps. Mainly being 2 Red-Eyes Fusion and the 1 Red-Eyes spirit. If you run a lower number of Red-Eyes spells then running 2 Red-Eyes Insight can be good. It's one of those cards that are good but if you open up more than one It's a dead card. In late game it becomes even more dead due to the fact that as the game progresses we are already thinning the deck by a large amount making the targets for Insight fewer. The other reason for running two Insight is because we no longer need to solely search Red-Eyes Fusion off of it since it can be searched off of Red-Eyes Black Meteor Dragon. It's worth noting that we have to wait a turn for that but that's something we can afford to do as we can make other plays to either stop the opponent or help make a board in order to help us closer to the win con which is burning the opponent for game. Some of the links in the extra deck are there if we need them. Realistic speaking they can be taken out for something else but those cards mainly serve to link climb if we go the guardragon pisty route since that locks us into dragon's.
sweet thanks for the comments! I am actually looking at my list now and I want to make some adjustments. I might make some other video soon on an FTK build. I did a video on it already but not a IRL deck tech. I do like the idea of running a lot of cards that draw to try and find the puzzle pieces. Ash is SCARY so cross out probably needed.
I’m working on a red eyes deck myself and I know the burn component isn’t a major factor but a combo that could work for quick burning on your opponent could be Flare Metal and Masquerade. After you utilize your Metero comet and Inferno fire blast, set up the Masquerade and Flare Metal Dragon for quick burns
I even use a Rokket/Red-Eyes deck for Joey and Varis. There are plenty that synergize with them, being both DARK and Dragon. A major reason I did this is Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon. Since unless the opponent has a GY clearer, that beatstick could still prove successful. It surprises me how little it is mentioned. It is a primary reason I even combined the archetypes.
Id like to make a case for double XYZ red eyes. Thanks to Kashtira Fenrir there are some Hans that allow you to end board on turn 1 with double XYZ and heavily spheres, which is virtually very oppressive since opponent only can use 7 effects, of those one will receive the compulsory of heavenly spheres, and you will want to summon bystial Baldrake. Why? Cause the XYZ can revive a red eyes vanilla to be tributed by baldrake to negate an extra deck summon. And if they break the board the new red eyes will give a red eyes fusion on next turn and dragoon burn effect will probably end the duel. Again, not a competitive deck. But getting above other junk fan decks I think…
