      As a retired teacher I can relate to that. I still have ex students that see me in the street and call me ‘sir’ , they don’t need to but still do, very warming.

    Reading about the teacher history being a veteran pilot. Been in a war. And instead of being stern or scary, anything like that. He is the most gentle of a soul. His "hello, Ian” is angelic

    I must have watched this clip about 500 times over the last year. Every time I just can't get over how true and genuine this reaction could have ever come across. His eyes wondering around as if to do a reality check. Can't believe what he is seeing.

    Ian Wright is an excellent human being. His teacher saw that and helped him. That is what it is all about. You have a life and you help another have a good life. Ian Wight is a good person from all that I have seen of him. This few minutes shows love and respect.

    Ian LEGITIMATELY had his breath taken away. So few people are able to experience that level of emotion in this life. Ian is doing so many wonderful things for so many kids today, SO MANY youngins that in need of help and support from the heart… just like Pigden did for him. I encourage you ALL to research this story, it is quite a beautiful story to share.

    This video is poetic. From the removing of the hat. To the reckoning and realization that this figure was still alive. All down to the hug at the end in which he hugged him from a lower row. At a child’s height. The beautiful symbolism of respect and growth of the masculine. Reflected in a moment.

    The people like Mr.Pigdon are heroes who have inspired a lot of young men and women to be the best version of themselves.This was a great moment and Ian just turned straight back into that kid again when he heard that "hello ian"

    Mr Pigden died in 2017. He did well to be a father figure and teach boys to have goals and work hard for them. He was a pilot who faught in the war and once flew over Buckingham Palace in a aerobatic display. He had once said watching Ian play for england was the proudest moment of his life, .. what an honour to have bestowed on Ian ..to have those words told by a teacher and mentor that he very clearly had respect for.

    my dad was 83 before he passed away he always spoke of his teacher mr smith whom dad loved mr smith told the class if you want to get on in life get a job work be nice to ppl dont think anybody owes you anything everything you do in life it all comes down to you how you handle it an what you can accomplish dad always used to quote that so teachers if u aint hitting home with students take a tip from what my dad told me dad listen to mr smith and this advice he gave to me God bless everyone xox

    This man was a WWII fighter pilot and flew many special fly pasts in later years. And yet he said watching Ian play his first England game was THE proudest moment of his life. And he had flown over Buckingham Palace many times.
