  • What's it like to drive a nearly new 1987 Porsche Carrera 3.2 G50 transmission? You've come to the right place. Here is a short video on this gorgeous example of a 1987 Carrera in its full glory. This may be one of the most exciting cars of the modern era and rivals the same generation Porsche 930 ( Porsche 911 Turbo) in its unique characteristics and drivability. A true modern classic in guards red. Kick back with my with your favourite coffee as I whip up a shot on the Gaggia Classic Pro to fuel up our drive in this stunning Porsche 911

    Awesome video ... also, congratulations on acquiring the great example of a 1987 Porsche 911 Careera 3.2! The mid-to-late eighties 911 Carreras are definitely a sweet spot in Porsche's historical lineup. BTW ... I got a kick out of the B&W framed photos (proof of a "true" P-Car enthusiast)! Speaking of enthusiasts, I am currently on my fifth P-Car and there is no turning back, LoL. If you get an opportunity, it would be cool to see more content involving Porsches and possibly other unique sports cars ...

    The switches under the dash above the ignition are - one for the sunroof and the other to switch between mirrors (so you can regulate the electric mirrors with the knob/joystick on the door). The buttons between the speedometre and the clock are - Upper switch is intermittent wiper and the lower one is for headlight wash. The button under the dash on the right is for intense cleaning.

    3 Systems. Vent - Heat - AC. All separate. Vent - blower motor, 3 stages or no air cut off. Middle slider moves it up to dash or lower under dash ( no sides). Heat - pull levers up you get hot air. Red slider. Again, up dash-down floor but also sides. Lastly AC. On console. Blows side top center and lower. Can’t control

      The levers between the seat is for heat, and it blows from underneath the seat. The more you pull up the more air flow, and the numbered nob is extra fan . Don’t drive mine in the winter, but some chilly fall days - Targa top down heat on!

    Gorgeous color combination and the interior looks brand new which is amazing considering the age and color. One thing I didn’t realize until recently but not all porsches have the ignition on the left. 356 speedsters have it on the right.

    • @LivingRad
      @LivingRad  2 года назад +1

      thats a good point. Would that be prior to it's entry to Lemans? I think their first race was 1966. 356 production was 1945-65. Ps my first toy car ever was a 356 which i still have 25 years later :)

    Camera work needs improving however the big problem I have is that a video about driving a 3.2 that has you driving it for the last few seconds isn't really about driving it, you spend too much time talking about inane things rather than the driving experience.

    Clicked on this video to watch the Porsche not your dam intrests in coffee and cheesy music and everybody knows about the starter switch being on the left allegedly due to Le Man's blah blah blah. But it's also very well known from retired Porsche factory workers is that the key was put on the left to save manufacturing costs , less wiring length needed on every car built .
