Heater controls are likely to open vents to the heat tubes, like the VW beetle - there is no heater core since it's air cooled. AC is likely an entirely different system and I suspect you could have the heater and AC working at the same time.
When I was a teen in the 80's I got to detail a customer's 1983 911 convertible. They purchased it for $33,000 as a used car. It is interesting that almost 40 years later the car is still priced nearly the same.
i really wanter one of those as a kid. for me it looked like the closest thing to the 90s batmobile back then. thank you for showing all those little details.
You guys at TFL do have a real knack for buying quirky cars with a never ending list of problems for your mechanic buddies ( making no wonder they are your 'buddies' ) In the meantime,... I love those quirky cars of yours. Yes, I'd buy them too. That 911 Porsche is simply terrific!
Nice era of the 911 and the best part no Turbo no Nannies just proper drivers car, though, prefer a hardtop. Still have to smog this and maintaining it in California would be a handful. A 1975 or older wouldn't have to worry about the smog and just maintain it to run safely 🏎🏁👦🏻👍🏻
better loosen up that tail release or you will be in for a bad day when the cable breaks. Wipers rest on the driver side because they were too lazy to switch them over from euro cars.
Quick we need to spend boat loads of money to fix the Porsche, let's make videos about anything to get capital for it. No hate though, I enjoyed the video guys. Just that was my first thought
It's not just Tesla people bro.. it's just called a frunk. Also, it's called a bonnet, not a hood and the back cover is called either a.. engine cover or hatch.
That car has a Tea Tray tail, slightly different from the Whale tail.
That’s a tea tray. Not a whale tail.

Gadgets & Gismos > Quirks & Features
Agreed! Much more entertaining.

I appreciate the bloopers in this video. Haha great video!
After driving the same ‘87 for twenty years I forgot all about the gadgets - thanks for the reminder!
my cruise control plate was in the glove box from factory lol. Also explained my switch conundrum. Cheers

That 911 Porsche is simply terrific!
The most beautiful shape 911. Very cool
Such a quirky car, great vid Tommy
Great job Tommy...:)
I love the 911, but a convertible top is the worst thing you could ever do to one.
Very cool car. I love all the quirks and quarks.
Great car and design. They're a solidly made vehicle.
My father's 1988 Subaru GL-10 turbo wagon had a lighted key like that. His always worked.
Interesting quirks and features.
My mom's Saab had a light on the key... It never worked either... even when we replaced the battery.
This car exemplifies the bitter truth statement"the more junk on it, the more that can go wrong". lol
It'd be cool to see TFL get a Rivian
Incredible!
Remember that the heater and defroster were designed in the early 1960s for use in Europe. A/C??? NEIN!!
can't the valet get into the locked frtrunk since they have the keys to park it? hence they could unlock the frtrunk knob?
Valet key will not unlock it.
BEST TFL video ever! Gotta go get my shoulder pads and wear my shoes sans le socks. Tommy cracked me up. I loved the built in outtakes.
Beautiful car... Be scared to think how expensive to fix if any major drivetrain parts quit..that be my fear with these cars.. Great car thou!!😎
Tommy, this was my favorite review. Keep it up
I just got a 87 convertable 😎 nice video 📹
FYI defroster lever #1 has a spider web. Funny video of awesome car, I want it.
Cool car I've always wanted one.
That's not a rear seat. It's an insurance deduction;)
On my 84', if the front trunk won't close, push the handle all the way forward and it will close first try.

Lots of Porsche fans are screaming at their iPads“YOU PRESS ON THE BADGE!!!!”
You dont press on the badge it dents the sheetmetal eventually. They just say that because they dont want fingerprints
@@jeep2003 oh no! Look at what you did. Now the other Porsche fans are yelling! :-)

Cool video Tommy! This Porsche and the old F100 are my favorites. It was Called the Frunk since the 1950s, it’s not. Tesla thing!
1:55 Time to hit the gym, Tommy 😆
It's not just Tesla people bro.. it's just called a frunk. Also, it's called a bonnet, not a hood and the back cover is called either a.. engine cover or hatch.
a bonnet is something my Amish neighbor lady wears.
Could call them quirks and features
Neat
Good job Tommy ..but when you checked the Porsche 911 oil there was none on the dip stick you guys better make sure there is oil in it..
Wrong you check it when at idle warm on flat ground. Dry sump so the oil goes down into the engine when its not running.
Hey Tommy, what's with the jailhouse poses on the thumbnails lately?
hood engine in trunk. i like porsche 911.
Love the little bloopers a long the way 😂.....Please at least fix that steering wheel as a Porsche 911 owner it makes me 😷 seeing it every time.
owners be like 50k firm no low balls
Hilarious 😂
Get rid of those bumpers
I found myself looking more at you than the 911...lol...😋
I never realized how cheap the interior is on one of those.. that's a shame considering how much they go for
Yes!
All of the controls in our family’s 1987 Toyota Van were better than these.
Cruise control on a 1987 911??? Really?
please detail that car, why is it still dirty!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a ridiculous video.
