It's painful to see such a great director going through this... Hope this film works..The problems he is addressing should have been handled by the producer. This is a great example when big studios doesn't exist in Tamil film industry. We need production houses like AVM, Gemini etc..

He has always been one of the producers of the movie, and he is the main producer now. If he was only the director, the movie would have been released long ago.

although i am gvm fan i am not sure he is completely innocent in all this. remember karthick naren! gvm initially produced a film with him naragasooran which is still not released. now karthick naren's other latest film is also not releasing. i am not sure but the stuck naragaasoran may have something to do with that. all i am saying is gvm has to let someone external handle his film finances because atleast so far he's surely not doing a good job of the same!

For the sheer will and patience GVm had, the way he had to take on acting projects to pay off his investor's debts and bring his creation on screen and the way he held onto the project without giving up hope....have to appreciate that! GVM is a very artsy creator. He might not have been financially successfullywith his films but they were all slice-of-life breezy dramas. You have a takeaway from every film.

What a persistent man! serious respect. to be able to take over such a thing, paying off the debtors, cast and crew by acting and directing simultaneously, having so much going on and yet being able to release the movie. I seriously hope this movie is good and does good numbers, Get a good OTT number and come out of all these issues. I want the old gautham menon with that confidence and the one who doesn't cater to the stars. Nevertheless his acting performances are brilliant.

"Those who don't know how to pronounce my movie , decide the fate of it " - A lot of goodness happens inspite of it. It takes immense self - belief to pull through. And I'm sure you have lots of it. But it also pays off if one knows their ways and work around it rather than against it. We are with you Gautham and there are quite a few of us - that's no small feat. We may be small in number compared to the other mighty fan base , but we make it count. You can count on us.

GVM has entertained us with good films like Kaaka Kaaka , Vetayadu Vilayadu , Vinanay Thandi Varuvaaya , Varnam aayiram etc.. as audiences we shouldn't leave him alone. Dhruvanatchathiram is going to be a blockbuster for Sure !

  • @Raghuthatha
    @Raghuthatha 11 месяцев назад +65

Grit in the face of adversity! One can tell that GVM is moving mountains to get a release. Didn’t know the acting gigs were to front monies for DNT! Goes to show how much he loves the process of filmmaking despite his many commercials flaws in shaping the production of DNT (if any).
I’m going to do my bit and watch this filmmaker’s latest outing regardless. One can’t look away from the fact that he’s one helluva talent who once gave us classics like varanam aayiram, Kakka Kakka, minnale, vettaiyadu vilaiyadu among others.
    I wish you well GVM!
Hope you recover your principles and come out winning at the end of all this. See you at the movies
Also: a special shout out to BR for making this a breezy conversation! I was on tenterhooks when the interview started honestly; but they volleyed it well. Kudos

Baradwaj rangan sir, at 1:00:45 what you said was exactly right, it really does give us hope.
And whatever points Gautham sir pointed out was true, it was no cribbing.
But i really think the audience should be blamed, for being hypocrites, We lament about the lack of content based movies, but still opt to go these over the top franchise big star action vehicles. I felt that because of this, even directors like Lokesh or nelson have to compromise on their story telling skills.
These interviews actually fuels my desire even more to become a filmmaker.

Movies like 'Madhagaja Raja' are sleeping somewhere in the production house, when it's heroes and directors had moved ahead, left the movies to suck somewhere.
But this man is fighting more than his capability for one single film, which depicts his thirst for filmmaking. Hats off to you GVM Sir 🙇. Your always an inspiration. 🎉

It is without a doubt the content that drives a movie's box office success. While the positive and supportive comments are pouring in for Gautham with lots and lots of empathy, I too am happy to join in to wish him all good luck and welcome the release of Dhuruva Natchathiram as a blessing blockbuster of box office. GVM has set a new trend by being so transparent about the film without worrying to save its thrill. He was very authentic in sharing and decent not to pin point ant other for the delay. Gautham, as you mentioned it is a typical case study for Management Students in making the success story of a business with sheer patience and percevirance.
I wish the film making is demarcated clearly between creative directors and business directors to handle their respective roles without any compromise. Gautham's core competence shouldn't be diluted any more.

I am a PhD student who had good momentum at the beginning publishing great work and bagging internships etc. but then many bad advices, decisions and mostly my complacency led to two terrible years at work where I can't move on from this proposed research that I took over and designed my thesis over. No advisor wants it but I see a path to finish my thesis and I will hold on to it. I could very much relate to where gautham's mind state is at. Thanks for this it's cathartic.

A lovely interview, more of a discussion!! Getting to know the uncertainty of a director in terms of presenting a story to diverse audiences is so good ! if directors get to discuss the present scenario with critics, maybe just maybe they'll have a better picture of reality!!

Generally I differ from what GVM presents in his movies and I don't like many of his movies but this interview shook me up a bit. GVM spoke out his heart and the pain he goes thru is like damn he doesn't deserve this. I wish him the best. Waiting for the movie release.

I wish Dhruva Natchitram could have pan india release like in Malayalam, Hindi, kannada because this film has damn potential of becoming pan india movie in terms of content and Chiyaan Vikram sir he is goat of acting whether movie is hit flop average below average above average blockbuster mega Blockbuster he as an actor exceedes everytime whether its Cobra , PS Series , Iru Murgan , I , Thaandavam , Deiva Thirumagal, Raavanan , Anniyan, Saamy Square, Sketch , bheema , Saamy , Dhool and upcoming films like Dhruva Natchitram , Thangalaan etc he is gem of star i wish he got the success and collection of top tamil stars like suriya sir , karthi sir , vijay sir , ajith sir , dhanush especially, vijay sethupathi etc damn he is too underrated and especially in Hindi this film would have been a boost to Vikram sir s stardom post Aparichit, I etc
