Love the video and series idea! Would love to see what you come up with. I think the clone wars is a card to consider for the sideboard as it is an amazing follow up if your opponent plays Super Laser Blast. I personally have been testing blue Rex on the side
Solid video. I've been cooking up a Mono Green Rex for a while and I'm excited to see where it goes. That being said, I did a draft of set 3 last night and went Rex Blue and have to say, the augments of blue, especially Sentinel and hard removal. Would make Rex into a solid midrange deck but not sure how well it'd go with the token package. Excited for all these new deck options and no Boba to ruin the fun!
Im currently testing yellow Rex and so far, its been performing decently. Having access to waylay, now there are two them, and creative thinking has been such boon to amassing your board while stifling you opp's has been interesting!
I think its severely understated how good Ackbar is in this deck, he's excellent removal. Bright Hope, Home One, and Command are great ways to get him back to hand depending on the situation.
I like the new series! I initially tried Rex Red because having Red Three and some of the red troopers felt good. I went more for the trooper synergy. I am going to try double green though. It sounds like fun
Cool take. Been trying to get a Rex deck to work as well. Its between double command or Vigilance. Think either way kind of fixes each others bad match ups. Do think U-wing reinforcement is a must have in these decks. Can get you back into a game where they have been able to control your board.
Curious to hear what your Vigilance build looks like! I'm not sure U-Wing Reinforcement is what the deck most wants, though it is a powerful card. In general I think this type of deck and tactic can be very effective against one-for-one removal because you generate too many units for your opponent to efficiently answer. But against board wipes, it might be a bigger problem. It'll be interesting to see what removal options control decks end up packing as the game continues.
Dont have a public list to post. But Vigilance gives good stuff like Luke, Typho, hard removal of your choice and some other nice cards. Also in defense of kamino is so good here. The discords have threads on the deck, that is how I found it :) it is different but super fun. At least how I play this deck U-wing is super good. Can give you answers and gets coordinate online. Helps with turns when your hand is short on cards too. Its a fun deck. Think it will be rough in a competitive setting if people run the cards that can wipe your tokens. But as a underdog deck it can certainly do good.
Good to know! I don't have a great setup for recording games but I might try and get some footage of future leader testing... no promises (not sure the lighting etc. would be good) but definitely seems like it could be cool to include!
I haven't tried Rex in person yet but i lean towards red due to having batch brothers, low altitude gunship and keep fighting for Shaak Ti to get 2 clones instead of one
I hadn't tried Keep Fighting but that's an interesting idea, though I think I prefer green's Ambush tech! I do think that Manufactured Soldiers is basically "Batch Brothers but better" (as I mention in the video) but Low Altitude Gunship is an excellent card and something I wish I could run in green!
I tested him and didn't like him that much -- he's kind of expensive for what the deck wants to be doing IMO. That said I think that I could well have been wrong, and he definitely gains some value if you're playing Shadows Echo as well...
@@TowerNumberNinefair enough, also did you test In Defense of Kamino at all? I’ve tried it in a few of my builds and it seems like it can really hold things down against aggro
Interesting point! I could see that hitting hard with Aayla in particular, though a lot of the other units this build runs tend to be on the smaller side...
I have also landed on double green for Rex at the moment. Still tweaking to find the late game balance. I haven’t run command and have Mas Ammeda and SHD Echo so far as the main differences.
I tested SHD Echo for a bit but didn't love him -- at that time I was running unit Rex as well and thinking maybe I could buff leader Rex but it seemed a bit clunky. Mas Amedda's card draw didn't seem like what the deck most wanted, since this is actually a build where you don't need cards as much thanks to your built-in token generation. However I can see how Mas Amedda and SHD Echo might work well together... curious to know how that's been going!
@@TowerNumberNineI’m definitely not sold on SHD Echo yet, I’m doing the same as you mention, can either buff either Echo or Rex pretty easily. The loss of card I don’t feel so much with Mas and Rex’s ability. I dropped Shaak Ti just because her of her stats. Echo takes that place as a 4 drop you are happy to ECL. Did you test at all with “In Defense of Kamino”? I initially overlooked it, but it has been clutch in the games I have played so far. It lets you keep your board while using it to trade into your opponent. Great for boards that are sentinel heavy or when you need that restore to keep you ahead in the race. It does require a bit more republic synergy though (I am running Phase I over Battlefield Marine, etc). Lastly I think Attack Pattern Delta has a place in this list as you should be able to get at least +5/5. I love how many options the deck feels like it has despite being mono-green. Lots of things to test and tweak.
I think with double green attack pattern delta and outflank are worth looking at. I think you need to be able to punish ppl who quick claim and ppl who don’t think you can burst them out of nowhere.
Interesting points! I had been running Attack Pattern Delta for some time but recently swapped it out for Timely Intervention - I could see it working well though. Haven’t tested Outflank but I do like the idea of some extra burst!
I am kind of surprised APD didn't stick in a Coordinate-based double green deck. I would personally try to run APD and Timely Intervention together. That said, love this new video series idea!! I agree with other commenters who recommended including some sample gameplay along with the deck tech
I'd be curious to see what leaning into Nameless Valor would be like? Rex's ability + Valor is a 3 resource 4/4. I also think any go-wide deck could play Gor as a finisher, and if you manage to squeeze some Separatist units in there, I've been really surprised with how Heroes on Both Sides can present a large stack of unexpected damage. Granted, that's been in limited, but it's been fantastic enough that I want to try it in premier.
I was originally playing more copies of Nameless Valor but reduced it to one since it didn't always see that much play. That said I think it's possible that I'm "underdoing" it and could set things up better for the card -- it's very efficient for the price when you have a clone on the field!
Enterprising Lackeys is very efficient statswise and provides a nice Smuggle option as well for protracted games, but I cut it from three copies to two because it doesn't synergize all that well with the rest of what the deck is doing. Command is quite good -- it's not on the same level as the other double aspect legendary events IMO, but I still really like it.
@ yeah command look really good here, also ramping to 5 one turn early and get out Rex look good. I’m thinking about bring back steadfast battalion, he’s trooper so get the bonus for our leader and can help kills almost anything with ecl.
Awesome and looking forward to your “Force Five” series!
More on the way soon!
Very excited for this series! Keep'em coming!

Really exited to see you use dooku. I’ve been really enjoying him
Dooku should be my next video in this series...
@ can’t wait to see it! Blue and red are good but don’t sleep on yellow. I’ve had a lot of success with it as a tempo

Hey, love this idea. Excellent series that I'll be following closely.
Thanks -- more on the way soon!

Interesting idea! What are your Now There Are Two of Them targets and do you find any tension between that and the "swarmy" aspects of the deck?
I think its severely understated how good Ackbar is in this deck, he's excellent removal. Bright Hope, Home One, and Command are great ways to get him back to hand depending on the situation.
Very original content Tower keep it up!
Thank you, more on the way!

Nice look and commentary
Yep, more Force Five, TN9! A great first entry on a leader I haven't seen enough of, too.

I really like what's the idea of the series, I hope we can see it complete with all the leaders.
Thanks! I currently plan to do all the Twilight of the Republic leaders -- next up is probably Anakin!
What about Attack pattern delta? Pyrrhic assault could also potentially work depending on how much of a swarm you can make.
I really like Rex, very fun leader. I'd love to see an example gameplay in these videos but I'll take the deck techs!
Good to know! I don't have a great setup for recording games but I might try and get some footage of future leader testing... no promises (not sure the lighting etc. would be good) but definitely seems like it could be cool to include!

I’m curious about why the deck is not using captain Rex unit, seems like a good top end unit that enables coordinate

@@Nick-hc3ocdidn’t test it but definitely seems like it might be a better choice than the Sundari Peacekeeper I had in sideboard for that purpose…
Hoping for an Ahsoka one soooooon! (Whispers) try cunning….
There are a lot of Ahsoka fans out there...
I run 2 overwhelming barrage. It's worth 7 and on a buffed up ground unit gives you access to removal that Command Hero really lacks.
Interesting point! I could see that hitting hard with Aayla in particular, though a lot of the other units this build runs tend to be on the smaller side...
Where are you playtesting this?

I like "The Clone Wars" but I think I'd only run it in Blue because you could follow it up with Disruptive Burst lol
Nice combo!
Do you need alot of ramp? I feel like command is enough ramp.
I agree, I don't think this deck really wants to be ramping heavily -- prefer to be getting more units out in the early game!
@TowerNumberNine 100% ive been playing around with Rex Green. I feel like its the best combo.
