She rushed launching Kozi and hurt a smaller creator in the process only to just close it within a year. 🤦♀️ Jaclyn should never have a business or try to sell anything. She has had so many chances to do the right thing and proves time and time again that she does not care until the backlash starts to impact her bottom line. I am trying to create a small business (mostly just sell my art) and before I even made my instagram I Googled every single name idea to make sure that I wasn't taking a name from anyone. It's not that hard and just willful negligence to not take the 5 seconds it takes to double check. I have no clue how anyone could still even consider supporting her.
She fell off so hard. It's weird bc idk how one of the biggest beauty influencers of the late 2010's wasn't able to create something and keep it afloat. It reminds me of the Kardashians. If we're being honest, Skims and Kylie Cosmetics are the only two actually successful brands that family has created. And those of us in our 30's who watched them from the start remember the things they've done... Dash stores, the kardashian kredit kard, their line at Sears, their hair products, the books Kendall and Kylie "wrote", Kim's game, the girls each launched their own app, etc.
When she launched her cosmetic company, I knew she would eventually go bankrupt. She showed herself to be a fraud and liar. She knew her products were dirty and her small pallets were terrible quality. I do own one of her large pallets and it's very good.
Would love a deep dive in her internet career. Was a LOYAL follower of Jaclyn's from 2015 until the Morphe vault collection issues. The lies upon lies... it gave me the ick. Still, to that point, I bought everything she collabed on. Her lipsticks with Gerard Cosmetics/Whitening Lightning, her Champagne Pop collection with Becca, the Morphe favorites palette, the Morphe x Jaclyn pallet (1st launch), and the vault collection. After that, I was done. She blocked me on Twitter for asking a serious question about the vault collection (she replied nastily before blocking) and that was that. Never supported her again. Unsubscribed everywhere. Then Lipstick Gate happened and I felt so bad for her followers at that point but wasn't even a little surprised. She's sloppy, cheap, and it's ALL about her own ROI... how much money she can make, imo. Anyway, since then it's been even more frustrating watching her hurt more and more women business owners, especially Kaylyn (sp?). Her Reddit Snark page has the receipts, if you need.
So incredibly selfish with the koze thing. Can only imagine how much of an extra kick in the gut it is for that other business owner. Though I’m sure she’s doing much better than Jaclyn.
In my opinion all this "I don't want to be a salesperson blah blah" is just an excuse, she doesn't want to say that her companies weren't as profitable as she thought they'd be and that's why they're shutting down. I think within the next two years she'll launch another one with huge promises about how "this one will be different" and "so much better than the previous businesses". I think people nowadays are more or less done with influencers and celebrities launching their own product lines, we see that they rarely have any other value to add to the product than their name
I wonder if the “tired of selling [tangible?] products” means she’ll move to selling experiences or intangible products.** However, this _is_ Jaclyn we’re talking about, and Jaclyn’s word ain’t shit, so she’ll probably be hawking more (tangible) crap as soon as she/her team predict it’ll be profitable again. **Ik even if you’re selling experiences or intangibles, you still probably have to promote it, but idk if Jaclyn knows that 🙃
She was actually never the CEO of the cosmetics company. If you look at the bankruptcy filings from forma, someone else was listed as CEO. She was literally just the face of the cosmetics. I do not understand how anybody still supports her. She's entertaining but I wouldn't buy anything she's selling. 🖤
HAPPY UPLOAD DAY!!! I wanted to take the time to talk about the downfall of Jaclyn Hill’s brands/businesses. What are y’all’s thoughts?👀
Would love a series on the rise and fall of different influencers!
YAY! I would LOVE to do this series
Me too!!!
Great idea!!

Congrats on your start up!!!! Hahha amazing

@SweetiePieVibes Yes! And yet somehow the Kardashians are "great business women" 🙄 Some things I will never understand

Love she announced that SHE was closing JH cosmetics.. she had no ownership in it at all (per the bankruptcy filings)
Yes!! Forma owns it.

I definitely think people are more wary now than they used to be for celebrity/influencer products/launches.
Every company Jacklyn has worked with, even her collabs, have gone out of business.
Interesting there were over four million views on the first two brands & 400,000 on koze. That’s a serious drop!!
Great point!!

Yes do a series on influencers rise and fall
If you made a deep dive on Wacklyn i’d watch it. (Other influencers sound interesting too but especially Jaclyn)
She is a major liar and scammer, glad you're covering this!
Such a D move to crush another creator and then close Koze so shortly. She even said Koze didn’t make her happy. Liar.
For sure going to try and open another business.
A lot of people are thinking this!
💓 My favorite color is actually salmon, but this was as close as I could get!
She sent Makayla the pr box of lipstick 💄 enjoy your hairy lipstick 😝 poor people that loved Jaclyn I feel bad for them and them alone
I seen that video on tiktok! I was like 👀
Glad she’s being true to herself at this point
Im an OG Jaclyn follower and Koze with all the lies were the last straw for me. She still just come on IG to sell or get sales from items.
I will bet that she is going to start something religious.
